"Treasure Collector" Achievements

Hi all!

We fixed a bug today whereby you could get "treasure collector" achievements from someone else's pet.

Unfortunately, we have no way to tell who deserves the achievements and who got them just by visiting another pet's treasure chest.

So, what we've done is revoked all awards of that achievement (sorry!) If you do deserve the achievement, it should be a simple matter to re-qualify for it.

Again, sorry, this was the most straightforward way of rectifying the problem!

Edit:

If you received the pirate map twice (once for the first time you got this achievement, and a second time when you had to re-earn it) then you are welcome to keep it. If you have already deleted yours, we are very sorry, but we cannot give you a new one.

I didn't even know that there was a glitch for this, but I never would have taken advantage of it. I am still working on getting the achievement with my pet Kyi Leigh. XD

At any rate, thank you for fixing it!

Wait... I still have the achievements that I have earned so far... It did not revoke mine.

I only have 366 achievements now, rather than the 370 I had earlier today. This must be due to the 4 treasure achievements no longer being counted, but all four are still highlighted in my achievements list. So they were removed from my total count, but not from the actual list...?

I've been clicking around in my pets' treasures (Spurious has more than enough to qualify), but I'm not getting any notifications, so I think this is still glitched somehow. Is this something I should submit a ticket about?

Ah, so that is where my missing four achievements went. (I was looking at the total a few hours ago and then was looking at it again about ten minutes ago and was aghast). Good to know.

How soon will the achievements be reestablished, then?

I'm having the similar situation as bonecrivain and escapedsanity. My achievement count goes down by 4,but the TC achievements are still highlighted. My pet Xris has more than 100 TC slots,but nothing happened when I visited his treasure chest.

Hope this will be fixed soon. Thanks!

Edit:

Problem solved as I was able to get the achievements.
Pirate treasure map was deleted.

Thanks for fixing a glitch I didn't know it existed

This means refilling the treasurechest. Sigh. Ah well, as long as all the slots of it are still active. I think I leave all the extra items in it, just in case it glitch again. Maybe some serious thinking about all the other items that fit the theme.

Just to clarify, my achievement count went down, but they are still highlighted if I view the achievements and I cannot re-gain them by viewing the editing page of my pet's treasure chest.

This seems to be what mostly everyone is having trouble with.

Thank you for the thread, I already wondered about what's going on when I suddenly received the achievements again - for me everything seems to have worked as it should.

However I have a question: Can we keep the second Pirate Treasure Map or do we have to delete it?

Still glitched for me. Situation:
1. I had a pet with 100+ pet slots and got the achievements.
2. I adopted out that pet and the new owner is now frozen.
3. I am starting over with a new pet, I have more than 10 pet treasure slots, took them all out and put them all back in, and still no event back.

While the events do not count in my count of Achievements, they are highlighted in the list of Achievements.

Bad enough I have to shell out for all those new keepsake boxes, but how many times do I have to take out and put in?

Hmmmm Seems to me this should be a news item, since there are a ton of people, like myself, that don't frequent the forums. I would not have known what was going on if someone hadn't very kindly sent me the link to this board.

At least I'm able to get the Achievements back. Got back 2 of them thanks to 2 very generous gifts.

Just zapped: Euclid shakes the laser, but nothing happens. He offers to increase Pub's treasure chest instead

if you received a pirate map piece before for getting 100 slots in treasure then don't you think it would be a glitch to get it again for the same achievement??

at least that's usually what were told to do in a situation like this...

Normally yes. Though that is not always the case. My mind is coming up blank right now, but Keith has on occasion said not to delete the item or extra sp.

We got the map the first time through no glitch and also got it the second time with no glitch. I don't see the reason to delete it unless staff states we must do so.

well.. i got the pirate map the first time and it's in my gallery.. i should not be getting a duplicate for the same thing so i deleted mine...

and now i won't have to worry about it...


dang!! my mind is coming up blank too right now trying to think of any time Keith said not to delete sp/items after glitches .. please post it when you can remember.. i'll feel retarded till then for my absent-mindedness

Why has there been no response from @alx or @Keith on why some people are not getting their achievement count raised or can't even get the achievements again because they are still highlighted achievements even though our achievement total went down?

I am a bit anxious in finding out and getting my achievement total back to where it should be.

Well, Alx hasn't been on in over 16 hours, but this issue has been happening since he posted this and did the changes. XD

I, personally, don't see why people such as myself, who have to actually get the achievement twice, shouldn't get to keep both pirate maps. I did it legitimately the first time, adopted out the pet, and now I'm having to do it again from scratch.

Obviously, I'll delete the extra map (when I get it) if staff says we have to, but I'll dog and moan about it. I'm still pissed at having to get the achievement twice when I did *nothing* wrong. I got it legitimately the first time, and now I have to start over. That inconvenience (not to mention EXPENSE!) deserves some compensation.

It is a bit rough, especially because Alx said, "If you do deserve the achievement, it should be a simple matter to re-qualify for it." Obviously it's not a simple matter for some. Alx is awesome, though, so he probably just didn't think of that beforehand. I hope he'll make an allowance for it.

that really is a good point.. and i see your side of it..

i however am getting the achievements with the same pet as the first time since i had 100 treasure lots on him before the achievement even came out.. so it's really not fair for me to keep the second map piece... i had no problem with deleting it...

In short, if you got the map twice, you can keep them. If you already deleted one, we cannot reimburse you for it (sorry!)
