Which is better Invader Zim or Spongebob?

I love both! It's such a tough choice. Invader Zim for it's 'dark' and bizarre humour. I found with IZ it was more for an older teen/young adult based audience. It's a shame they stopped making it. Spongebob purely for its 'wtf' qualities. I honestly' can't decided which I like more.

I love them both as well. Normally I would have a really tough time choosing, but lately Spongebob's taken a turn for the worse and now it's really not a funny show anymore. So I'm gonna have to go with Invader Zim. (:

Invader Zim was semi-funny.
Spongebob WAS really funny.
Haven't seen the former in ages, though. They still play Spongebob's good episodes.

SpongeBob. Hands down.

I've never seen Invader Zim and it honestly doesn't seem like something I'd find at all funny.

Original SpongeBob is the funniest thing on Nick EVER, but if you're talking about the latest SpongeBob episodes, pretty much anything after 2006, then...Invader ZIM! =)

Invader Zim wins hands down, but to be fair, this is an unfair comparison. It's like asking "Which would you rather eat, and apple or a rock?" Unless you happen to be a Goron, you're going to say apple. Not that there's anything WRONG with the rock, it's just not really in the same category as the apple.

While Zim and Spongebob are both animated comedy series from Nick, the similarities stop there. They have different target audiences, therefore are going to be written/presented differently.

I think they were both pretty kick ass, but seeing that spongebob made so many more episodes to be amused by, I have to go with that :p

As much as I love "old" SpongeBob, I'd have to say Invader Zim. SpongeBob lacks the dark, twisted humor of IZ, and NOTHING in SpongeBob could ever compare to GIR.

Hmm... I am going to go with Spongebob. That show is a classic. I tried to watch Invader Zim, but I didn't like it as much.

Invader Zim.Nick should just have sold the rights to CartoonNetwork like 6teen if they had such an issue with it's content.

(For those who don't know,google "Bloody GIR" and you'll find out why)

Spongebob is just....yeah...annoying now,it's been around for almost what 10years now?They're running outta ideas and I think after Truth or Square it's gonna die off for a long while/go on hiatus.

But yeah,that's my opinions.:3

I completely agree with this. Zim was going places.

I don't /hate/ Spongebob. I just think that it's been dragged on for far to long. I used to like it a few (several) years ago, but now it's just annoying and repetitive.

My best friend is actually dressing up as Gir for halloween. It's epic.

I own the box set for Invader Zim, so....yeah.
Spongebob in the first few years was pretty hilarious though, I still watch it occasionally.

Invader Zim, no contest. It might have gone off the rails if it had continued, but as it exists it is whole and perfect. I'll take silly satire over random silliness any day.

Hmm that is a hard choice.
Both are decently good shows.
But then again Spongebob is always one and has been out for like years.

I never got to watch Invader Zim as a kid, but I heard good things about it from friends when I first moved here. So I watched a couple episodes, and I was hooked. I did, however, get to watch SpongeBob as a kid, and while they were funny back then, they're definitely not even mildly amusing to me now. I just find them annoying. It's probably because my little sisters will watch it 24/7, and after the first hour, Tom Kenny's SpongeBob laugh gets annoying, and because the humor just seems stupid now. Whereas in Invader Zim, it was just so weird that just as you're trying to make sense of one scene, you're thrust into another, even weirder scene.

I liked the art and animation a lot better in IZ, too.

Zim's creator Johnen Vasquez didn't enjoy making the show, and it was getting obvious by the end of the series. It was a shame that it basically got canceled after September 11th happened, but it let Jhonen move onto new, more desirable projects at least.

Knowing that, I have to say Spongebob is a far better made show. The guy who voices Spongebob is such an entertaining and funny guy in interviews. The show is also much more clever. Zim was never quite so creative, it was more witty and satirical, and life hating. It was good at what it did, but it was mostly a rehash of Jhonen's comic characters put into cartoon form and watered down for older children.

Hands down I have to say Invader Zim was best.

I still find myself quoting lines and laughing at their jokes.

Spongebob is good but it's got nothin' on IZ.

Spongebob can't compare. Spongebob has few funny or good episodes. Some I find rather boring to watch. Though I still do love watching Spongebob, but I'll go with Invader Zim.

Spongebob could never beat Invader Zim no matter how long it has been on air..seriously Nick screwed up majorly when it stopped showing the good shows of old..there's alot of them I miss and IZ is the biggest one
