Harley Quinn (if it isn't obvious ). I just love her character in general, and how she has fallen for the Joker, even after everything he does to her.
Also, Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter series. There's just something about them.. ♥

Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister from George RR Martins A Game of Thrones series. I just adore Jon and Tyrion just always makes me laugh I love how he is so snarky and to the point, and i love how sarcastic he is.

Captain Jack Sparrow I love him <3, he's a really great character.
Severus Snape What is there to say about Snape? He's just Epic and Raistlin Majere (Dragonlance), gotta love the cold snarky, powerful mage.

I've recently fallen in love with Stiles from MTV's Teen Wolf. His character makes me laugh all the time, and shows usually never make me laugh. Unless it's South Park or something. |D

Plus, Dylan O'Brien is just a cutie. <3

D'aww...Non-anime.

No anime, so I have to say: House. Dr. House. The biggest jack-ass of all time, and incredibly entertaining to watch.

@ChinaIvy

Bones is a very close second for me. I love him.

To bind a web around the faker...
---
I had a hard time deciding, but probably the Protagonist of Persona 3. I don't know why, but I've always felt attracted to the more tragic characters. Think about it this way; he loses his parents when he's six, then he is made to live in the same city he lost them in, is coerced into fighting otherworldly beings, and
this is the ending, by the way

Bridget Jones, the champion for the average/normal woman! Since I turned 30 over the summer she's become somewhat of my hero (though I have adored her for years), since I was flailing about my life not being perfect by this age, as I naively expected it to be, yet she is 30 and doesn't have her life in order and it helped me realise that that's actually okay! I'd felt like an enormous failure to become a Proper Grown Up and still be piecing my life together, but she helped me realise that 30 is still relatively young and it's silly to put such strict expectations on myself!

Amaterasu from Okami. Is there any other wolf goddess character who can manipulate existence using her tail as a celestial brush? I don't think so. There are many characters I like, but I can't think of them at the moment...and once I do, the list will just go on and on. Besides, Amaterasu will probably always be one of my all time favorites.

EDIT: Oh my gosh, I had no idea I was necroing this thread because it was on the first page. Very sorry for this!

For the past few years, I haven't been able to get enough of either Sherlock Holmes (the Jeremy Brett incarnation) or Hercule Poirot (David Suchet).

I won't go on about Sherlock because every other tumblr page is plastered with pictures of the new show, but I love both characters because they're very logical and have a strong sense of justice without being overly pious (in one episode, Poirot lets a train full of people escape arrest because they had a very good reason for murdering the victim).

I'm not very logical (I'd love to be, but my brain just jumps around all over the place ... the right side is definitely more active than the left), so I tend to admire people/characters who are logical and who care a lot about other people. Sherlock probably doesn't fit this as much, but Poirot is always polite to everyone, comforting to the witnesses, etc. (actually, Brett's Sherlock sometimes does this as well, but it's been a while since I've read any of the books so I can't remember if that was an acting choice or not)

tl;dr:
I admire detectives because they are clever.

Edit: Well, it looks like this is a necroed thread =/ Sorry for posting, everybody. I saw it in the forum pulse and assumed it was fair game.

Edit #2: Nevermind, I guess three months is the cutoff. As you were =)

Londo Mollari from Babylon 5. He's probably the most well-developed character I've ever met. He's epic tragedy, he's Shakespearean, and all rolled up into an amazing scifi series. I read somewhere that part of B5 is "a guy with ridiculous hair acting circles around everyone else" and this is true. Londo's development and changes over the series is extreme and tragic and so wonderfully done.

Non-anime please, because we all know that they're awesome.

Just post here your favorite characters from tv-shows, movies, books etc. And if you want to, then say what you like about 'em so much! Like... for example that you like how similar you are to Dr. Gregory House or how you like Angela Montenegro's personality. ETC. ETC.

I would have to say Aeriel from the Darkangel Trilogy. I read those books when I was a teenager and they are still some of my favourite books. Aeriel's character was appealing to me because she went through such a drastic positive change over the course of the books and it made her seem like such a strong character to me.

I like how you used Angela in the first post. She's probably my favorite Bones character, even though she's not one of my favorite overall characters.

1.) April Ludgate - I love April. Best character. It's mostly because she reminds me of me at times, but she's also just great all around. She's funny, has an ~awesomesauce husband, frequently goes on the Internet, and made up a whole other personality/name for herself, originally for stealing from a club, and then to just freak people out. Her line about wanting a marshmallow shooter and not wanting to become a boring adult is probably one of my favorite lines from her. Also, her wedding vows were "I guess I sort of hate most people, but I never really seem to hate you, so I want to spend the rest of my life with you, is that cool?" wow best character.

2.) Martha Jones - She walked the Earth and saved the universe! She worked in a shop to support the Doctor! She met Shakespeare and he fell in love with her!! Obviously the best companion. (although Donna is very very close and Sarah Jane and K9 aren't too far behind)

3.) Britta Perry - Britta for the win!!

4.) Abed Nadir - Abed is batman now

5.) Leslie Knope - I think she's awesome and I love her ~*~ Seriously though, she's the best at everything and she's so upbeat and positive most of the time, and she truly cares about her town and literally every single person who lives there, especially her friends.
