@Kowalskifangirl - I'm going to spare you my Brian Kinney speech against marriage in general, but
Listen love, you are absolutely, positively, without question or "well if you really super think it's right" exception too young for marriage. I believe you have strong feelings for each other and that, but what you're looking for seems to be a big way to express that. You're too young to even get a job, too young to live alone together, too young to sign a legal marriage license without consent from your parents (who will almost assuredly tell you no you can't yet understand something like this). Forget the term marriage: it doesn't mean love forever like you seem to think it does. It means two adults have chosen to legally combine their assets, live together, often for the purposes of raising a family. I don't think those are the things you really care about. If it's love you want to express there are better ways than a ceremony in white or a piece of paper that gives you his last name. Do the whole promise ring thing if you feel you'll someday end up together and need some kind of symbol of it. OR love him the only way that actually means anything; by just plain trying to do right by him and make him happy.   I'm not gay, but my boyfriend is. |

no no no. think about it. 14 years of age? are you serious? this is not an insult, whatsoever. its the truth! ITS loveING RIDICULOUS TO GET MARRIED THIS YOUNG! do you know the average divorce rate? and her being 14 and him being 16 - odds are, when someone goes to college or becomes a junior in high school and gets drunk at a party and loves up, WHOOPS! whats gonna happen? SAY HELLO TO DIVORCE LAWYERS! no one should ever put themselves in this situation at such a young age. its just being young, and in "love" in my book. i doubt they even looked at the responsibilities or the grand scheme of things. i will stick to my statement that yes. its loveing stupid, plain and simple. if theyre together in 4-5 years, loveing go for it - but not now. it would be taking away from so much of their youth. @ i definitely agree. waiting until 18 or 19 for HER would be great. finish school, move out of mom and dads house, have a stable job, have your head on straight and be ready to live...::thumbs up::

No problem. :] It does sound like you guys have a good relationship, but it's definitely a good idea to give it time, since you are rather young. @sailorjerry Exactly. For many people, this might be too young, but if she does end up being with him still then, it would probably be a good time. (:

By the time you reach legal age, I bet you two won't even be together. You're not even old enough to get a permit, let alone get married. EDIT: By the way, it's not inflation. @Kowalskifangirl Sounds nice that you are so in love with him and yeah my cousin was the same as you only she dated the guy for 12 years before he asked her to marry him and they have 6 year old twin sons now. |

@ crap im 26, and just lost the love of my life! maybe this is my im so cynical towards this particular post. and i know, with 99.9% of my body that if they do get married at this age - within a year it will just go downhill. ive seen it happen to 18 year olds back in the day. and why would someone want to put themselves through that financially, emotionally, at such a young age. i dont understand kids these days i guess. Sorry to hear that. D= I'm 17 and honestly don't see why anyone would be in such a rush. You can be in love without being married. I can't see marrying someone without being with them for quite a few years.

 Ha, I seriously laughed out loud reading this. XD You're incredibly naive and lost in your own little world. It's all fine and dandy to believe you'll still be together with your ~true love~ in five years, but don't get so hung up on it. The way that you're insisting it's "real" is incredibly childish, and doesn't particularly help your case. Why do you want to get married so much anyway? It's a piece of paper & some legal crap. Then some more legal crap when you get divorced. It's expensive and difficult. How do you even know he's ~the one~? You're 14.

You're childishness makes my day, dear. Once again, you're 14. You haven't lived much, you still have a lot of life to live & a lot of things that will change. Just because you're ~perfect~ now doesn't mean he'll be perfect for you in a few years. People change- it's not something you can avoid. They go to high school, college. Meet new people, try different things. Whether or not you two make it through those changes you can't know for sure, you can only hope for the best. But when you insist you'll last ~~4evr n evr~~ you're setting yourself up for heartbreak. How am I childish for trying to stop you? Do you think I'm so ~~jealous~~ that I have to try and prevent online strangers from marrying just to make myself feel better because I'm not married?

Yes, yes it was an insult. Like I said, all you did was call her 'loveing stupid' without bothering to explain your point of view before being provoked by me first. Try thinking before you type next time around. I can't say that I know whether User not found (1): Kowalskifangirl and her boyfriend will still be together when they graduate or not. I can't see the future. But what I do know is that if she doesn't have hope and believe that her and her boyfriend will make it, their chances together will be close to nothing. What's wrong with believing? I know it sounds terribly childish and cliche, but you can't get anywhere without having faith. And, if it doesn't work out, so what? You take the good with the bad and move on. That's how life works. |

Marrying young brings more stress than anything, though that is society's fault, not the couple's. My dear, ifsoon is what you want, college is the best time to marry. You get economic benefits (for your studies, of course)! And that's always important.

I think you both should consider waiting to get married. Getting married too young can cause all sorts of problems. I'm not trying to be critical of you, I just want you both to have the best that life has to offer. You're young, and you should enjoy being young before you start living like adults. Have the fun of dating and hanging out with your friends, and remember to enjoy your teen years. You both should still be in school, so that you can learn more about the real world. Don't give up on your education; it's important. After you have both graduated high school, that's the time to consider getting married.

Being together, at your age, I would say no to, because I was in the same boat. I was with this guy named JT, and literally I was 15 and he was about 2 years older than I was. We thought about getting married and stuff, but really, things change a lot when you get deeper into highschool, and people also change. :/ NOT saying that it's the same case here, I'm just saying you should consider ALL options before making a choice about who you're going to spend SEVERAL years with. It takes a lot more than the "I feel so safe" feelings. :/ I mean, I've felt that too, and sometimes, it just doesn't cut it. You have to consider the good times, the bad, the fights, the decisions, everything. o:

 A) If you've been in a relationship 2 years, starting when you were 12, you are some scinetific miracle. My sister is 11 and the only thing she cares about is Miley Cyrus. B) Who the love thinks of marriage at 14? Be serious I'm not buying this. Even so. The magical plan; you will get married. Live in a.. Cardboard box? With your sweetheart. Or in mommy and daddy's house. You will.. Drop out of school? Have 20 babies by the time you're 16 and... .. .. Maybe that's about it. Sounds like a plan. Hell, when I was 12 the only person I wanted to marry was Ash Ketchum.

 Just give it time. I met my boyfriend when I was 15, I'm now about to turn 19 and we're engaged and getting married in 2011 on our 5 year anniversary. If you love him as much as you say you do, you'll last until you're graduated and be able to legally get married.
