 Westboro Baptist Church to Picket Funeral of 9-Year-Old Arizona Shooting Victim There are so many word I'd like to say right now, but I'd get in trouble if I did  Seriously, why can't they leave people to mourn in peace? And what right do they have to be picketing this poor girls funeral or anyone else's? It's not "Freedom of Speech". Last Edit by:

 @Shinjitsu Actually, they won't be directly at the funeral. AZ just passed a law that prohibits protests at funerals, but supposedly they're moving their protest about 1000 feet from it. :/ Can those idiots give it a rest? We get it, you're dumb. You're giving the US a bad name. |

Why can't someone blow these motherloveers up? All they ever accomplish is disrespecting the deceased and pissing people off. I'm sure everyone is sick and tired of hearing about them by now. What the hell did this little girl do? She's loveing nine. I doubt she can tell the difference between being Catholic or anything else. Hell, I wasn't sure what religion I was when I was nine. Although, at that age, my family had long stopped taking us to church. |

They are picketing the funeral of a nine year old girl that wanting to make the U.S. a better place? Man, this people are batcrap insane. I feel bad for the family, no one should have to go through losing their child and for Westboro people to picket her funeral... What donkeyholes.

To the people who have had to watch their loved ones funerals get picketed, I'm sorry, no one should have to see that, people abusing their "freedom of speech" and using it to cause even more grief. She's just a nine year old girl... what has the world come to? On a positive hand, though... At my university, we get these people called "Repent America" who hold up giant flyers of aborted fetuses and signs that say "God Hates Fags" and all sorts of hateful sludge. Whenever they visit they bring a loudspeaker and disrupt our peaceful campus with their offensive slander and fear tactics, all in the guise of a 'protest'. The mistake that many students make, including myself, is circling them and taunting them. When we give them attention, WE ONLY ADD FUEL TO THEIR FIRE. An annoyed campus security guard walked up to me and told me to leave and just ignore them. Us giving these horrible, greedy people attention makes the cops' job more complicated and everything would be better if we paid them no mind. The same principles can be applied to this pathetic excuse for a 'church'. The best thing to do is to counter-protest them peacefully and quietly by using human barriers. At my school we use umbrellas and offer to escort people past the awful images Repent America holds up (the school as since abolished our 'Silent Witnesses' program, so now we no longer have this comfort--thank you, budget cuts and greedy buttheads). Your intolerance is repulsive and the fact that you must mock and torture those who are hurting in order to compensate for erm, certain things, is disgusting. You are petty, you are vain and you are liars. You do not know what God does and does not like. He does not sit in your pews, asking you to 'preach' his 'word.' You know nothing. It is not your place to determine the fate of people and proclaim you are right in everything you say and do. You are vile and do not deserve the protection the first amendment gives to you. I completely agree that the Westboro Baptist Church are disgusting, despicable people, and I do not agree with condemning, or any kind of intolerance or hatred toward homosexuals, but the Bible does speak against homosexuality. Romans 1:26-27 is very clear on this. Not going to post the verse because this is not the place.. just thought I'd point that out. That being said, the way that the majority of Christians treat homosexuals is horrid. I am so glad these buttheads canceled their protest!

It's no secret that the WBC is full of outrageous, ego-stroking parrots. The only thing that surprises me about this protest by the WBC is that it was canceled; then again, they made the media their dog for an hour in exchange, so I guess I'm really not that surprised after all.

@Rinoa well 1.the catholic church is just as judgemental in my experience and 2. I think it does depent on the church. Damn near every baptist church in existance has denounced the WBC as being not a real branch of baptism... That being said...epic username.

It's branches like those that give the rest of us a bad name. I should be able to show up to church in jeans and a nice shirt without getting looked at like a bug under a microscope.  @Jenni they did. Several thousand people as well as a hundred Hells Angels (and a few dozen cops). The church didn't show up to the little girls funeral, or to any other Tucson funerals thanks to a HUGE base of people (started on facebook) who were there to block their protest (not PROTEST their protest, because that would be just as disrespectful to get into a pissing contest with the church....they just stood in a VERY LARGE line along the streets to block the victim's family's view of the church)
