I just want to make sure you understand my point of view. Just imagine a group of 5 people chatting in front of a house. I come and say "hello". Only one of them answer me, while the others don't. How would you feel about that?

I then say "Mmh, you don't seem to need me here.". And I'm told "for people to say hello to you, you have to come into the house first. We don't usually talk outside of the house so if you say hello there, even if we heard you, all of us won't answer because that's not in our habits doing so".

Do you see what I mean? I was not looking to get to know people on the topic itself. I knew I had to enter the house to do so. But I don't enter someone's house if the people who own it don't even look my way. It's like I'm nobody because I'm standing outside, and suddenly when I enter I earn the right to be talked to. It already happened to me in a real life situation. I don't find it normal. Don't get me wrong, I know that from your point of view, there's no matter of "earning" any right, you're just used not to talk much outside of the house. I understand that. But from a total stranger point of view who don't know your habits, it can seem unwelcoming. And first impressions are important!

So maybe for your next new member, you could just all say hello on here after reading their application? Even if they wouldn't be as easily deceived as I was if nobody said a word, it's always a bonus and it doesn't cost anything

I'm not angry or anything, please don't think I'm looking for drama. But it's just that in a real life situation, what you just told me doesn't feel right. And I like giving my opinions so that people understand my point of view

@Lisar Best of luck in the other cult, hopefully it is what you are looking for. I am one of KS mods but I was at work last night and I only had a moment on early this morning before working again so I didn't have time to post. Like Poetic said this is just our "here we are" topic and all of our main conversations take place in the main cult areas and our IRC chat room.

@ Aw, that one makes me sad. Kittens who do that have a medical condition called Myotonia Congenita. they do that when they get scared and can't run or jump. poor babies!

The first time I saw that gif though it had the caption "petrificus totalis" so that Harry potter connection is what I liked.

@ oh my god! I know five people I have to send that link to right now.

EDIT: I'm trying to set up an irc account but i got stuck. there is a step where you enter some info into the chat and you're supposed to get an email. ? that part isn't working for me. if anyone is around that could help me that would be awesome! ( @)

Sorry I haven't been too active lately, guys. With work, semi-moving, and now the impending weight of possibly developing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in BOTH wrists (from work, not computer!), socializing with a group haven't been my first thoughts. I'll try to pop in IRC every once in a while as I have been, though.

@ There are days when I think I might be developing it too. I do graphic design at work and then I come home and play on the computer. I hope it doesn't happen to you! Maybe they get you something now that will prevent it in the future.

I love all the gifs being posted here. Thought I should say so instead of just staring at them. @ that looks a lot like my bunny except her gif would be of her jumping into or out of a chair most likely.

It's never been an issue with the computer. My wrists have never hurt at all up until I started my job at the end of April. ;A;

I'm afraid of getting the surgery too ;__; if you can find a wrist brace that fits you well, that really helps me when mine starts bothering me too bad.

I've been wearing a tensor band until I see the doctor next week for an actual diagnosis. I just can't believe how fast it's progressed. It hurts when I grip, I think that's my problem.

It's fine to call me by my username. I had another account a very long time ago and lost both the name and the e-mail and everything, so this one came into play.

2. What are your interests on Subeta? (Human Avatars/Pets/Battle/Restocking etc. )

3. How often do you play on site and will you be active within the cult?
I only recently came back to Subeta but seeing as I have nothing else going on I've been playing every day. I can't say how active I will be in the future but for now I am here.

4. Why are you interested in joining Kindred Spirits?
Playing on a website by yourself is no fun (well it is some fun, but you know)! I want to make some new friends.

5. Tell us a bit about you! (This doesn't have to be lengthy or detailed you can save that for your introduction in the cult! Think of this as an ice breaker question. )
I am an artist and was considering joining an art cult but I don't do digital art as frequently as traditionally so I decided against it.

I'm not sure why this thread isn't used more, I mean technically we CAN use it . . . it's just everyone seems to prefer the privacy of the cult forums and IRC. And then our quieter (in that they're probably more sane and know how to act right in public ) members tend to stay on the forums, which are much more tame and on topic than IRC. In IRC you could be talking about baked goods one minute and then somehow find yourself talking about naked mole rats.

TL;DR:
Unsure why this thread isn't used as much aside from we're a flock of socially awkward penguins that prefer to keep our weirdness private.
Cult forums are slower paced and less wild and crazy (sometimes).
IRC is pretty much a wild card driven, runaway van with the breaks cut.

BECAUSE I CUT THE BREAKS! WILD CARD, dogES! YEEEEEHAAAWWW!!!!!

(bonus points to those who get that reference)

PS: I DO NOT WANT TO GO TO WORK IN AN HOUR AND A HALF :C
