I am also not a fan of this change. It looks cluttered and it is very hard on the eyes to read. I liked it simple and plain looking. The avatars make it even more cluttered looking.

The new news page looks like crap on my netbook screen. The HAs don't fit on the righthand side of the news post, so they end up beneath the post. Did nobody test this on a smaller screen? .-. It looks horribly cluttered with the HAs underneath the posts, not to mention that the HAs themselves are generally taller than an average news post.

I also agree with all the previous comments on the white-on-gray. It hurts.

I'm all for the HAs remaining if either they downgrade to headshots OR if they actually sit on the right side of the post. I can't get past this point here. My laptop is 1024x600... I genuinely do not understand how even 800x600 got overlooked, let alone my even wider 1024x600 ~_~

I have to admit that while I'm not completely opposed to the change, I think it'd look better if the HAs were removed.

The fact is that it's the same people posting the news most of the time, so we're just seeing the same image five or six times in a row and then an occasional change-up gets thrown in. I guess I can understand what they were going for, I just don't think the execution is quite right.

Also I agree that the grey should at least be darker. It is a bit of a strain on the eyes the way it's set up now.

Why would you need a full news page with 100 SubetaTeam HA's.
The page takes longer to load.
The News are hard to read.
The old one was fine and clearly.

I like it, but it could use a bit of tweaking. Maybe just headshots instead of full HAs (I know it was already mentioned), or just removing that part completely. Something like that.

I really dislike the the new news page. I think this thread pretty much covers what I dislike about it. I think it is also a push in the wrong direction. Subeta should be viewable on all screen sizes, including mobile phones and tablets. The way the tabs move when you shrink the web page, or when you have a lower resolution (800x600 moves the tabs too), is already particularly annoying. Now there are also avatars taking up space and making the news page even harder to get through for people who have smaller screens or lower resolutions.

What ever happened to the days where Subeta cared about people with slow internet connections, or lower resolution sizes? I miss the minimalistic layouts that we were able to chose from before. I've always had a pretty good connection, but the minimalistic layouts made everything load faster and I was able to zip through things.

I can't say that I am a big fan of this new layout for the news. I liked the easy and clean look of before. When I go to the news page, I'm not going there to look at the avatars of the admins or npc's that are posting. I'm there to see the news.

What can I say? I've already blocked it all using my CustomCSS. I normally hate white space, but this is just too much clutter. If it ever does change to head-shots instead of the whole HA, I will likely remove the CSS blocks, but until then I'm keeping it simple.

On the plus side, I am extremely happy that the page has finally been updated to include code that is compatible with CSS, as I think I could have a lot of fun customizing it the way I want it

Ah thank you for the CSS, whoever it is that put it together!

I was able to figure out how to make things the colours I wanted from it (the white writing in the light grey background was hurting my eyes x_x and the HAs cluttered it up too much).

I am gonna use this code...I don't like the new layout at all. For my poor computer it takes longer to load and the page is just way to long. Who wants to see the avatars over and over again anyway? They could have just used the head shot or something if they wanted to show them that badly....

I find the HAs to be really distracting. I also find it much harder to figure out news by day.

Attention: @Kal (mentioned it earlier) and users who are using smaller screens:

The speech bubbles have been updated to fit on a 1024x resolution layout. Subeta does not support browsers that are smaller than 1024, but, fortunately, those account for a very, very, very small percent of users (if even a percent).

I hope this helps! Personally, I really like the speech bubbles and plan to implement them whenever I have the chance, so it is essential to ensure that every user has a clean and perfect browsing experience.

Thanks for adjusting it for at least the 1024x768! It now looks great at work like it does on my larger resolution monitor at home.

I don't like it, sadly. The HAs make it look cluttered and awkward/amateur. It wouldn't be so bad if the SubetaTeam at least had a decent HA, but I'd still probably Custom CSS it back to something more normal looking.

I personally like it a lot. It looks more organized imo.
At first the HAs ended up below the bubble, but it looks like they fixed that now.

^{When no-body knows nothing}I must be CSS retarded....TT_TT The code goes in the Custom CSS tab in the preferences right? I've been trying to put it there but every time I save the code....it disappears and all thats left is my red outline for floating items code....Halp? ;.;
