  ahhhh, new thread. the old one disappeared. :c meeeh, i needed motivation to talk. @Expert_Fieldmouse i think our cookie recipe is milkless, but i'll have to figure out where the recipes are. and if you find one that needs butter or margarine, they can be used interchangeably, depending on which you're more sensitive to? i dunno abiut lactose intolerance since no one really close to me irl is. :c

@leenie everyone is kinda different.. I can tolerate butter just fine, but ice cream, milk, cheese, they all kill me.About the ONLY dairy product a lactose intolerant person can actually eat with minimal problems is yogurt. But there's a method to that madness, yogurt possesses lactase enzymes which help break down the lactose sugars within it. Ergo, yogurt is not an enemy ;D But I have to drink Lactaid milk [soy milk tastes like cardboard to me, I only drink rice milk if it's in something..like coffee. which is totally bomb btw! and then they have almond milk now too, but I'm allergic to tree nuts.. and coconut milk, but I hate the taste of coconut. XD] Oh and if you're in the market for lactose free milks that are yummy as hell, my walmart recently started selling bottled chocolate milks from this brand called Darigold, and their milks are lactose free and delicious! ^^ Also, frozen yogurt is the only "ice cream"-like food that I can eat without issues. Sorbet is a good one too, but it's more like a frozen fruit thinger to me than ice cream. Sherbert has dairy in it, I found out the hard way because I was too lazy to read the label once. v _ v and I should probably stop going on about lactose intolerant-friendly foods ;D [oh and soy cheese is pretty good on burgers and stuff too! ..okay really, stopping now, I swear!]Edit: Also, butter is a natural product, whereas margarine is man-made. Even though margarine is supposedly not bad for you, it's literally 1 chemical away from being plastic. Thank you Oprah for life lessons and semi-useless trivia factoids! I'm dairy intolerant ... I used to think it was just lactose, but it turns out that it's the proteins in milk as well as the sugar. (I think that makes sense ... can't remember exactly what lactose is) There are a few good brands of cookie that use soy lecithin instead of milk or butter ... one of them is called spekulatius gewuerz (I think) and is a German spice cookie. I've heard from a few reliable sources that too much soy is a no-no, but fermented soy is okay (like the kind in miso or soy sauce). So just don't eat tofu for every meal of every day, basically. It makes boys grow boobs 0__0 (troo fax) @leenie I'm kind of paranoid about margarine ... I tend to use coconut oil. You need to use less in recipes (like 1 cup butter = 3/4 cup coconut oil), but it works pretty well. Gingerbread is the easiest so far because the weird absence-of-butter taste is masked by the crapload of spices. |

@Expert_Fieldmouse Oh I see.  Well I'm glad I'm not completely dairy intolerant then, I think I'd die of starvation. I'm allergic to almonds [no almond milk] I hate coconut [blech] and soy milk is freakin disgusting... my diet would consist of water and supplement pills........and probably applesauce. I would surely die. |: Annnnyyyywayyy... I used google for this ... And this too... On this one, if you click 'more recipes' and click for their dessert stuff there's like at least 4 cookie recipes that I've seen so far XD @atechu fail. HELLO I LIKE TO PLAY WITH EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS IT IS SCIENCE @SkiitzPixel Yay thank you for the links =D I do hate soy milk, so I usually have almond milk when I have cereal. If you drown it in maple syrup it's okay. I have days when I like coconut and days when I can't stomach it, it's weird. |

@Expert_Fieldmouseno problem :] Soy milk tastes like someone took a piece of cardboard, liquified it and poured it into a bottle. I would be all over almond milk if I weren't highly allergic to almonds, I loved them when I was younger but crap happens.. :/ Coconut.. just.. will never happen. Ever. |: I hate coconut.. there are very few things I'll eat that contain it. My mom's favorite frosting is german chocolate frosting [the one with the coconut in it] and it makes me gag terribly. I can eat macaroon cookies though, which have coconut in them.. but if it's not like baked in and hidden I won't touch it. Even Pina Coladas... nasty. x _ x
