Ambercloud nodded goodbye to Skullstar then glared at windpaw. "I was just talking with an old friend and I do not need you to 'take me back', I know the way back to camp my self." she hissed. The nerve he had. "It woud do you well to show some respect, kit, if you ever expect any yourself." she snarled and stalked back towards Simmerclan camp.

 Windpaw flicked his tail. He shouted after Ambercloud "I'm not a kit! I'm an apprentice, and I've got more skills than you, I'd bet!" But she was gone. Knowing that he was now alone, he walked back to the camp. He yawned and walked over to his den. He layed down and thought about the day before promptly fallign asleep.  |

BIC: Skullstar arrived back in the camp, yawning and stumbing slightly. His fur was soaked from his fall into the pond. As soon as he went to go to his den, he saw the sun begin to rise. "Oh, foxdung!" he swore and went to wake his deputy. "Slatestorm, Slatestorm!" he whispered, prodding his friend's shoulder. "It's time for dawn patrol. You, and I and Pinesnap are going!" Coonstar yawned as the warm sunlight seeped into his fur. He was just slightly tired, but then again he always was. "Yo, Ambercloud. You're on the dawn patrol with me and Windpaw!" he meowed as he saw his late clanmates returning to camp.

@Cypress BIC: "Oh good Leopardfire, you're here. At sunrise tomorrow I want you to organize extra patrols along the Sunclan border. I don't trust those mangy fleabitten preystealers!" Jadestar ordered. Spotting her medicine cat, Wanderpad, she headed towards her. "Wanderpad," She mewed. "I want you to give me something to soothe my headache and help me sleep... please." Wanderpad rolled to her feet with a happy mew, "Of course Jadestar! Lionpaw!" she called for her apprentice.

Ambercloud ignored the faint shouting of Winpaw and shook herself one more time before entering camp. She really hoped she wouldnt be needed for the dawn patrol, having been up all night. She padded wearilly over to Coonstar to apologize for not coming back immediately.

Leopardfire nodded and set the patrols. (I'm gonna assume that we have more than one warrior, the rest are just imaginary?) She decided to lead the dawn patrol herself.
@ I will be out of town June 11-June 17 and again June 20-July 3. It is unlikely that I will be able to get on any of my role plays during those times. |

SunClan A low groan escaped the dark grey jaws of the SunClan deputy, but the stormy eyes stayed clamped shut. "Skullstar, if the sun isn't at the highest in the sky, I don't want to be woken yet," he groaned. The leader had woken him to go on a dawn patrol with him and Slatestorm's mate, Pinesnap. The deputy had become withdrawn recently, after their first litter had been stillborn. He was sure she wasn't liking it. Opening his dark blue eyes, he saw her, a picture of beauty, and smiled to her. "Okay, I'll come, but only for Pinesnap," he said, nuzzling the she-cat. @ MoonClan At her mentor's call, the young medicine cat leapt up. A cat was ill or wounded again. Sigh. It wouldn't bother her, in fact she enjoyed treating the cats, it was just that Wanderpad seemed to need her for every little thing. Some cat needed one herb, Lionpaw had to do it, another cat couldn't sleep, so Lionpaw had to give the cat the medicine, instead of Wanderpad doing it. She was sure she wasn't needed for everything, yet the medicine cat seemed to call on her apprentice even at the mildest things. Even things the golden she-cat had mastered to perfect ability. Rising to her paws, her floppy big fur making her look much larger than she really was, the medicine cat apprentice wandered from the medicine den to where Wanderpad was stood talking to their leader, Jadestar. "Yes, Wanderpad?" she asked. @ Ooc: I think I'm having a bad day, sorry guys! BIC: "Oh good" Wanderpad purred when she saw her apprentice. "There you are, would you go fetch our leader some poppy seeds?" She turned to Jadestar and opened her mouth in a smile "You should get yourself an apprentice Jadestar, training a young cat might take your mind off things. Too bad there aren't any kits in the nursery right now." Jadestar laughed. "Oh Wanderpad, you know know that within a moon I'd have the poor thing so scared it wouldn't be able to leave it's den. Besides..." She trailed off worriedly, "A distraction is not something I need right now." Her mind filled with all the trouble facing the clan at the moment and her headache worsened. @flamingogirl2 OOC: Dang, I have the exact same problem, I already had to drop a few roleplays, but I'm trying to stick with this one.

@ Stifling a sigh, the golden she-cat cantered back into the medicine den. She only moved so quickly because their leader, Jadestar, wanted the poppy seeds. Lionpaw opened her mouth so she could smell things better and focussed on the soft smell of the little black seeds, and she immediately knew where they were. Then, reaching up, she pulled some down from one of the shelves into a small green leaf. She saw that she'd taken too many, and tipped some back, before folding over the edges of the leaf and securing them with a little twig she took from a pile she'd made near the shelves of herbs. She'd found this useful practice, given some cats didn't eat their herbs immediately, and this made they lasted longer. The golden medicine cat apprentice was able to lift the bundle in her jaws by gripping the twig between her teeth; she carefully carried it out to her leader and dropped it at her feet. "You know, Jadestar, if you always ask us for herbs that will help you sleep, your body will get used to them and either they'll not work or you'll need more and more of them for you to get the same effect. There's just not enough herbs in all the forest for that, and the other cats!" she told Jadestar. "Either that, or you'll become dependent on them and need them just to function on a daily basis, or need them just to sleep. We don't want that to happen." With a sigh, she waited for the leader to take her herbs and go back to her den. BIC: Wanderpad frowned at her young apprentice. "Lionpaw, as valid as your point is, you are still only an apprentice and it is not your place to speak to the leader like that. If you have concerns, take them up with me and I will decide whether to share them or not." She chided gently. Jadestar smiled at the young apprentice and nodded her head in acknowledgment of her advice, then turned, herbs held in her mouth and padded back to her den. Hey guys, Fatalis is having issues with her computer so she can't get on right now. Is everyone okay with moving on to the next morning?

GingerClaw woke up, still have asleep but well rested. She stretched slowly and walked out of the warriors den to see what was going on. Few cats were up and the rest were sleep. Going alone she decided to go hunt for the clan. Stepping on the soft grass she hunted closer towards the border to check for any trespassing just for safety. When everything was clear, heading back to camp, she had a plump rabbit in her mouth just for the food pile Cloudleaf rushed out of the den,eager to go hunting. He didnt really want to go by himself so he waited for other cats to join him in a dawn patrol. Lots of the cats were still alseep because of the meeting yesterday.

@ MoonClan Lionpaw frowned. How dare Wanderpad? The young she-cat hadn't done anything wrong, merely given their leader some advice. As a medicine cat in training, it was her place to advice if she thought there may be a cause for concern; she didn't have to report it to Wanderpad before hand. The golden cat resisted the urge to growl under her breath. "I hope you sleep well, Jadestar," she said, nodding her head to the leader before padding away. She didn't reply to her mentor, simply walked towards the bracken barrier of the clearing; she hoped Wanderpad would see this as her disapproval towards what she'd said, without causing a fuss. For now, Lionpaw was going to look for herbs or something. Wanderpad smiled, amused at her apprentice and went to get some sleep. She woke up the next morning bright and early, despite the late night. She yawned, then tiredly padded out of her den to find the dirtplace. @Cypress Longpaw woke up and tumbled out of his den energetically. He stretched and cracked his huge muscles before padding out into the chilly dawn air. Since his mentor was up at dawn, Longpaw tried to follow her example. He padded up to where she was setting the patrols for the morning and sat down, tail twitching excitedly. "Hey Leopardfire! Can I go with you on the dawn patrol?" Longpaw was one of the older apprentices but he still had that enthusiasm for learning, and tried to get all the experience he could. He secretly hoped they might run into a hostile Sunclan patrol and have a skirmish. Longpaw, with his big, muscular body, and his quick mind, loved nothing more than testing his skills in combat. OOC: for people who haven't read the series, the dirtplace is where they go to the bathroom. XD haha

Leopardfire looked up and thought about it for a minute. "Fine. But you stay with me and don't wander off. And if we get into a fight, you run back to camp and get help." It bothered her a bit that Longpaw still acted like a kit sometimes. There was no doubt that his skills were good, but if he didn't mature up, he'd never make a good warrior.

Seeing the disappointment in his face, Leopardfire tried to cheer him up a bit. "If you run fast, you might be able to help fight too." She flicked her tail. "Alright, where's that lazy bag on bones Redtail?"
On cue, the tabby tom sauntered out of the den. Leopardfire narrowed her eyes at him and he walked more briskly over and the three cats set off into the forest. @ I will be out of town June 11-June 17 and again June 20-July 3. BIC: Feeling better, Longpaw padded along the forest floor, his paws lightly crunching over some dead leaves. He opened his mouth and breathed in deeply, savoring the scents around him. "Hey Leopardfire, do you think there will be any trouble with Sunclan eventually?" He asked in a low voice, so as not to alert any thing to their presence.

Leopardfire could almost have laughed at the apprentice's eagerness to fight. She hoped she hadn't been like this as an apprentice. "I certainly hope not." Redtail, an older tom who should have become an elder moons ago looked at Longpaw. "You never know with that Sunclan. If you ever meet one outside of a gathering, don't think twice. They'll kill you as soon as look at you." OOC: @ Last Edit by:

BIC: Longpaw smiled in anticipation. I can't wait. He thought deviously. Suddenly, a new scent assaulted his nose. "Hey Leopardfire? Is it okay if I go catch that squirrel? I'll be really fast!" Since it wasn't a hunting patrol, Longpaw would be allowed to eat whatever he caught.

YES! Longpaw thought exuberantly. He immediately bounded off in the direction of the squirrel he had scented. When the scent grew stronger, he slowed his pace and crouched low to the ground, keeping his tail in the air as he had been trained. He rounded a large tree trunk and spotted the squirrel, sitting on a huge root poking up out of the ground. your mine. he thought before he leaped into action. As he was coming from downwind, the prey couldn't smell him and was totally unaware until the moment Longpaw crushed it's tiny heartbeat with a well placed bite on the back of the neck. He picked up his prize and began trotting back to his clanmates to share.

The freshkill fell to the ground when Longpaw's jaw dropped in shock. "What?" He couldn't believe it. "Lightningclan? If anything I would have thought Sunclan." He leaned forward and sniffed the marker then drew back with a grimace, "That's definitely Lightningclan. How dare they!" Longpaw snarled as he felt the rage rising inside him.

Longpaw hissed angerly. "What were they doing here?!" He paced back and forth, whipping his tail side to side. The fur rose on his back and he wished for a fight to relieve the tension in his tight shoulders. Rounding on his mentor, he spat furiously, "Leopardfire, we can't let them get away with this!"

A yawn escaped golden-furred jowls as the she-cat woke up in the forest. She could hear the voices of MoonClan cats nearby, and recognised that of Leopardfire and Longpaw. Lionpaw got up and stretched; she couldn't remember falling asleep under the large oak under which she now found herself. She remembered lying down and feeling sleepy, but thought she'd just rest for a little while and then go home. She must have been tired. Lionpaw picked up the herbs she'd collected the day before, marigold and comfry and even some catnip, and went to find the other MoonClan cats. Longpaw's angry rant stopped as soon as Lionpaw showed up. "Oh.. Hey Lionpaw." His ears perked up and his eyes brightened when he looked at his friend and fellow apprentice. "Lightningclan, those foxhearted villains have been marking our territory!" He hissed in outrage, his ire rising again.

She could feel her fur grow hot with embarrassment and her sapphire eyes darted between the two cats, searching for amusement in theirs. "On the plus side, I found a few useful things. Mind if I join you on your patrol? I could do with some more time out looking for herbs, and the ompany would be nice." Leopardfire pondered this for a moment. Should they run into Lighteningclan or Sunclan, the gentle medicine cat apprentice would be little help to them. She didn't feel comfortable just sending her back on her own either though. she could just imagine an eagle snatching the little cat right off her feet.

Lionpaw could see the conflict in Leopardfire's eyes and sighed. Warriors were always making the same assumption. "I'm trained in basic battle training, and can probably fight better than half the MoonClan, SunClan and LightningClan apprentices can, so you don't need to worry," she told the other she-cat. "And besides, we're unlikely to meet either Clan, and they're less likely to attack when you're with a medicine cat if we do." The golden she-at frowned.
