Edited with new Information!

The coupons given out from the Cash Shop for purchasing credits through Paypal (more than 2,000) have been changed again.

The amount of the discount that you get is now dependent on the amount of credits that you purchased.

Thank you for being so patient, and thank you for the feedback on this feature.

The discounts are as follows:
2,000 - 5%
2,500 - 8%
3,000 - 10%
5,000 - 20%

Any Coupons you currently have in your mail that are unused, will remain at the 20% discount

20 to 5 is such a huge drop. I don't know, I think I would have been okay with 10, but 5 is just...so so low.

Hm. Disappointing. I can understand why, but still. I usually use Ultimate Game Cards, but switched to paypal once in a while so I could get the discount. Hardly worth it now.

This is STALKer territory.

This doesn't bother me at all. I thought 20 percent was really high in the first place, especially as it was the first time a coupon (basically) was even offered for using money to purchase CS. (This sentence is so awkward, ugh. I hope it makes sense!!)

I just think going from twenty to five is a bit of a harsh drop.
I don't really buy CSC anymore, and if I do, never more than $5,00 at a time, so this won't truly affect me too much. xD

I think that a 75% drop is pretty, uh, wow. I think 10% would've been better, just to see double digits.

Not gonna lie, it's a little disappointing for me. I usually buy 2000 or 2500 CSC to get the coupon, but now I guess i'll just stick with 1000 or 1500.

I agree! I loved that 20% discount, it was WORTH spending a little more of my real life earned money to get it.

20% is a huge discount, much more than I think is necessary. I'm sure this wouldn't have been done if there wasn't a real need to decrease it.

I have to agree with twocents. While I am a little sad to see the amazing discount be reduced, it was probably not a great thing for Subeta's revenue.
5% is still something, and is probably a lot more proportionate to what they save from us not using game cards.

If you have a 20% discount coupon it will still be redeemable for that amount. Coupons issued from this point forward are 5%, and we may increase/decrease that in the future.

20% is an incredibly high amount of a discount to get every time you purchase CSC. 5% is still a discount, and I'd just like to remind you that these are free credits that you are getting on top of essentially every order you make. 80% of our paypal orders are $20+ for cash shop credits, so we were offering a lot of free credits.

I liked the discount at 20% made me get more items, I am a little disappointed at such the big drop, why couldn't they just lower it to 10%, I do kinda understand the reasoning but I don't know if I will still buy in larger amounts like I started too

I think it would've made more sense to raise the amount of CSC you'd need to buy to get that 20% discount, rather than decreasing the percent to almost nothing.

Agreed, I brought up the fact that I hated the 20% when it was first introduced because of the massive amount of free credits that would be given out to those that pay with real $$, glad to see this finally changed.

I'll have to be really strategic about using my last few codes then. I wish I had stockpiled more of them.

At least this will help even more with trying to resist chance bags. Sometimes I could justify it because of the buy five get one free or whatever it worked out to using the code.

Just venturing a guess, but I have a feeling that if you needed to buy $50 instead, quite a few people would simply up their amount that they purchased at a given time. I know I would. I'd drop $50 to get the discount now, and it'd have the added benefit of meaning I'd have to make fewer CSC purchases, because it does take a while to go through that much CSC, haha!

I'm a bit disappointed to hear this particularly after finding out about the decrease in the discount accidentally while purchasing csc yesterday.

Although the 20% was a huge discount, and probably a bit of a loss for subeta it was a huge incentive to buy csc in larger denominations from the cash shop. A 5% discount isn't even worth spending the extra money on csc. Still 5% is a huge decrease from the 20% discount, and while can understand about the site giving out free money it's still majorly disappointing for those of us who went and bought $20+ worth of csc yesterday expecting the 20% off.

I sadfaced a little at the drop, but honestly, if it's cutting in to Subeta's profits too much, I'm not really bothered by it. ...though admittedly, it will probably make me buy larger quantities of csc less often. That 20% discount was amazing incentive for me to spend 20 dollars or more at a time.

Personally, I always thought that the discount should be higher with the more you spend? Like maybe starting at 5% for 1000csc, 10% for 2000, etc..

Oh wel, I'm just glad that it was lowered to an amount that still keeps my left over csc nice and even. |D

Just a general observation, but I am a bit amused that a change to a discount -- that wasn't even offered prior to April of this year -- is so upsetting. Target changes their coupons and discounts weekly.

Assuming I understand @Keith correctly, if you purchased CSC yesterday you would have still gotten the 20 percent discount. Because the news/change wasn't made until today. Did I misunderstand you, Keith?
EDIT: I'm wrong. The change applied as of midnight on October 1.

You kinda already get that, with getting discounts on larger GA medals when you buy them, or getting bonus items when you buy multiple items, or the discount on CS Boutique...

I'd just like to say I am REALLY going to miss having the 20% discount. I put a min of $150 a month in, and I never bought by $20 amounts to get more coupons codes. I always bought by the $50 amount.

Anyway, i do understand, I don't want to be a whiner, but I love to shop in the cash shop as well as buy gifts for friends from there...this will unfortunately cut down on my spending. I'll still be supporting the cash shop, but I doubt I'll be in as big of a rush to buy items/put more money in now that I know I'm not getting 20% off.

(I'm glad I put this months money in early and got my 20% codes!)

Edit: @twocents I agree that stores change sales and coupons frequently......but they change them BOTH up and down.

Well. Lol. I was fully prepared to drop $50 on the site on Wednesday for all the new stuff (it'd cost me 6,600 CSC but with the 20% off it would only cost me 5,280 which is an extremely appealing reason to drop that amount on a website). Now I won't be. Guess who loses out? It actually isn't me. 5% off isn't even worth it. It's barely worth it at 6,600 and I RARELY spend that amount in one go. Good grief. I'll just buy the new Sims 3 game instead.

I didn't look at my code mail too closely this morning but it definately seemed like I didn't save as much as I thought I should have. Makes sense now.

I can understand why this was changed but I am a little sad about it. I still spent the same amount on here, I just bought a few extra chance bags with each transactions since they were "free". Now I just won't get the bags since my luck is too horrible to waste money on

@Steph
Which Subeta has done... Adding on the 20 percent discount, which has only existed for six months, was going up, and now it's going down. And Keith just said here that it may increase or decrease in the future.

I think too many people viewed this as a permanent addition, which doesn't make sense. As information changes, then of course, Subeta would make changes with it. If it does too well (which I assume it did, or else they wouldn't have 80 percent of their purchases at that amount or higher), then you revise downward, obviously the discount was too high. If 5% doesn't do well at all, then maybe Subeta will revise that upward in the future. I expect it to be flexible, because that's something good businesses do: make changes, evaluate, adjust if need be, evaluate your adjustment, make more changes, etc. etc.

Yes, I suppose the key word there is "may". Well here's hoping, but again, I doubt I'll be dropping large amounts of cash like i used to. Which i suppose is something that business have to figure will happen when they change their discounts.

Edit: you seem to know a lot about sales and such, do business usually do such a large drop in discounts the first time? It just seems like a lot to me.

Trick or Treat @ Jodie ~*~ style-file ~*~ comissions ~*~ tumblr

While I understand 20% was a large amount to discount, I do think 5% is a little... well. A big drop, to say the least. I understand that the discount is free CSC essentially, but I know I and plenty of my friends only bought 2000 CSC+ at a time because of the discount codes, previously to that I'd just buy 500/1k CSC here and there or I'd buy it with sP, and I'll probably go back to doing that now there's really no reason to do otherwise. I'll echo everyone else and say even 10% would have been better, like I said I do understand 20% was a little excessive!

Haha I could say I'm sad/annoyed/mad about the change, but truthfully I only remembered to use my coupons when I was buying EHWs in bulk. I have 4 atm, and at some point I deleted about 5 others because I flat out couldn't remember if I'd used them or not.

I think just getting a 5% coupon is meh; frankly it's not enough of a % for me to even care if I get one, even if the thought is appreciated (which it is)! Though at the same 20% seems really high for a constantly given out coupon, even more so for donating just $20.

That said I do enjoy the thought of coupons and/or discounts in general!

I liked the idea of the special weekend sales, however thus far they've only applied to the ever limelighted wearables. It would be really nice to see other items given that light, "pet weekend" for the plushies, keepsake box, potions, EHWs, etc etc. Same could be done for weapons, books, foods, chance bags, etc etc.

Another concept would be something like special "buy one at full price, get a second for half price". It would be really awesome for those of us who buy multiples of the same item (collections, EHWs, potions, chance bags, etc).

I'd also really like to see special weekend "bonus" discounts? Maybe where for a weekend only (or a Friday or Saturday only) you get a bonus __% for buying $20 in CSC (might entice people to donate now to get a bigger coupon?)

Idk, just a few thoughts! Mostly because I'm not really bothered by this change at all (again, I still have 4 from before), though I really like the direction it was heading and would more so love to see
"time sensitive", if you will, coupons/discounts than anything else x:
