Okay, since the other thread was locked due to being old, I'd like to remake it since I really would love a lightning-based pet. There's been other elements made and lightning is lacking.

Although I liked the thought of Lightmatter I feel that it wouldn't truly suit it. I see them more as sparkish type species. Maybe with their fur more ruffled with running electricity? Not really sure. It's hard to explain how I see them.. LOL; Like high energy, I guess.

But, yeah. Who's interested?

Fur that looks like static electricity is running through it? (Fuzzed up?) Hard to explain;;
Storm cloudish background? (Similar to galactic?)

As long as it's blue I'm SOOOOOOOOOO down. Like totally down for Lightening based.

I remember in neo I always went for those one electric blue coloured pets or whatever.

Oh, man. I totally love when blue is in with lightning.
It goes so well. I like gray, too. Reminds me of thunder.. IDK WHY.
I'll toss that into ideas for looks on the first post. Do want!

Yess, it totally is.
There's the other elements so I was like fff I want a Lightning/thunder pet. Gold doesn't cut it for me. ;~; Too plain.
So I figured finally I'd stalk forums and I saw the Lightmatter thread. I posted but it was just locked so I had to pounce and make another LOL.

Not to be dissing you guys at all,
but in my personal opinion I thought the neopets electric blue was very ugly. If subeta releases a lightning version of it I hope its more electric. The neopets style made it look like you were wallpapering your pets instead of giving it an electric style T__T I want the electricity to pop out of the picture much like jolteon O:

jkily I don't mean an overdone blue but a few things in it I think would look neat.
Like lets say if they had sparks coming off them or idk I guess I wanna say static electricity? I DUNNO.

Or even blue and black.

Maybe similar to galactic; how the background is.
Give it like a dark cloud and add a bit of blue lightning in the back?

Blueee electricity would be pretty. Even yellow or white electricity would be cool too though.
I just hope that it would be like.. how the reborn pets are. Except instead of fire it would be staticy light and sparks and stuff.
I agree with nikki, electric neo pets were ug. ACTUALLY... all neopets were ugly. And plain ;_;

Sounds pretty interesting. I like the idea of a kind of stormy pet colour.

White electricity (as Fee mentioned) sounds gorgeous! Blue would also be neat I guess.

Subeta has other pets that are well-executed in point of conveying the soul traits of the element theyre attached to so why not lightning? I love glacier's reserved, snooty pose and reborn's proudness, lightning could have a impetuous like pose. idk. Personally I would like the yellow lightning better than the blue. It would match most of Subeta's lightning items better if it were yellow

and I have the feeling the blue would be too soft and plasma-ish.

Yes, still yes! I want this colour so bad! When it go announced that a new colour was being released I knew it was gonna be either lightning or vintage. I love the Nostalgic pets, but I can't say I'm not still antsy for lightening XD Shalashaska needs to be Lightening, not Gold!

I've always liked the idea of these pets being wild and full of energy, not necessarily aggressive, just independent and... predatory? No... Dangerous looking.

I'm not really picky on the colors as long as it represents lightning. I think it would be nice to have maybe blue eyes, though.
Or even storm-cloud grayish? IDK it depends on how the blue is added and such. I jus would really love to see the color added.

I'm actually totally with you on that, I thought it would be the lightning, too.
It's not that I don't like the nostalgic pets, they're really cute. But I dunno if I'd ever use one.
I'm not a huge fan of yellow honestly but I love the energy it kinda represents, right? And it would suit a pet or two of mine really well.
Yeah, dangerous or hyper. Energy-packed.. LOL.

Take a look at this. Disregarding the grainy lines, I think it would be interesting if the pets had a base colour somewhat like the backdrop of it and little arcs of bluish-white electricity sort of like what you can see there but randomly going from one part of them to another (yeah, I know that's a bit more purple/indigo, though I wouldn't mind that either XD). Some pets could also use the glowing-pinkish-sphere part of the ball lightning, too: the Malticorn might have it concentrated around its horn with at least some of the electric arcs coming from it, a couple of species might have one around their tails, some pets might hold it, etc. (though I think it would be going overboard if it was too large or all pets had it). Maybe at least some pets' eyes and/or jewelled portions could be that glowing pinkish colour, too.

@ Oh yeah. that would match Zell perfectly,with his energetic personality and all. Maybe the colors could be a mix of blue and gold/yellow. If that's not to much of eye sore. Yes, blue eyes would fit lightning so well.

When I saw this thread I instantly thought of this Pokemon card:

I like the idea of pets that have an edgy, 'energetic' look about them. They could have really dynamic poses, spiked-up fur, and electricity running through their fur and whatnot. This could be a cool idea c: I'd prefer them to be a yellow/black combo instead of blue electricity, blue reminds me too much of the Neo electric pets. But I'm sure our artists could find an awesome way to pull these pets off.

Maybe certain pets could get certain colors of electricity? That could please people somewhat I guess. Though I am quite fond of regular old yellow lightning xp

I will forever support and long for a lightning color. Electricity is awesome and there are so many awesome possibilities for this. I'd make like half my pets this color I swear. Especially Elecman.

Not gonna lie, when I think of a lightning pet, I think of Jolteon LOL.
Since it is so full of energy and I think of that when I think of a lightning type.
I don't care as much on color as long as there's yellow. But either black or blue would suit it.
I was thinking maybe the eyes could be blue or something. Or have each pet either blue/yellow and black/yellow.
It all fits pretty decently, though yeah, I wouldn't want the blue over done on it.

whenever i think of blue lightning i think of transformers blowing up (like...the ones on telephone poles...not the robots) xD;; when they blow up, the whole sky lights up an eerie blue, and blue lightning appears. I actually saw in my head what you were describing and i think its an awesome idea :]

I'm with you on that.
When I lived in FL our transformer blew during a tropical storm and that crap was crazy.. LOL. But pretty!
Yeah, that's why I think a blue to them would be nice. Not over done but at the same time I feel blue is associated with lightning a lot.
I do think black would go well, too but sometimes it makes me think of a bumble-bee.. LOL.

When I first read this, my kneejerk reaction was to say that it sounded a bit tacky - but I read through the rest of the responses here, and I feel pretty swayed, at this point. I love lightning, and storms in general, really, and I would be very interested to see how this was interpreted as a colour on here, especially given the creativity with poses and such. I wouldn't object to seeing something like this on the site.

Well, I think it really depends. I dunno why I associate it with yellow tbh.
But when I think of lightning I think of all types of electricity. Sparks and static and idk all that good stuff.. LOL.

Well, i think depending on what is done with the art, it could be considered tacky.
But there's so many different things that can be done to make the type of pet that it wouldn't be, I guess? (I hope that makes sense.. LOL)
I think for a lot of peoples pets it would be nice to have a high-energy type pet. I know there's a few but I guess I consider them kinda different types of energies?

Yeah! I think maybe the colors should vary depending on the species.
Maybe the higher-energy type pets should have the blue. and the calmer ones have a more black/yellow? I dunno.
I think that would make a bit more sense, maybe.
Although I don't know if I'd use a robotic looking pet, I also think that's a pretty neat idea since I know a lot of other users could use one.

i have one and i might change its name and get the lightning stuff...i dunno. xD But i like the idea of a different range of colors but it might also be confusing to some people since most pet colors have the same color range. But then again the style is what its all about right? like how the new nostalgic pets are different but have that same style. :/ Im sorry if i make no sense

I remember the Lightning pets on Neopets. They looked really tacky.

But I wouldn't mind a storm-themed pet colour. :3

Yeah, I have a pet that I'd love to make lightning themed.
Since his personality is pretty hyper-active and yellow suits him. Yet, I don't care for the gold pets. ;;
This is true, too. If blue isn't included in the design I think having their eyes blue would be nice, too.
That actually makes a lot of sense to me it jus is hard to explain I think LOL.
Either way, there's a lot of ways to go about making such a pet.

I think what to call it would be the hardest thing to figure out. Cloudburst? Derechos/Derekos? Fulminos? Actually, Fulminos is almost plausible.

If the pet is a stormy thing, you could always include small clouds as well, or make the pett grey with small sparks rolling in and out of the fur and skin/scales :] i dunno

So far the only Nostalgic pet that jumped out at me is the Kumos, which was perfect for a character of mine, but other than that... I don't really care about them either way.
But I guess I'm just biased XD electricity > cuddly toys.
Personally I'm all for blue-grey pets with lightening in blue or white-yellow or that really bright violet. I think I prefer the white-violet but it might be a little close to Darkmatter... idk
