I realize/know that this is EXTREMELY late but I am hoping we can run into May-ish too? :X

As some of us may or may not know April is (all/overall) cancer awareness month.

To support the cause throughout April you can wear either a

any of the

(You could always wear one according to the color of cancer you want to show support of)
Why those specific ones? Because they are daffodils (or close to) and: Quote:

The yellow daffodil is a symbol of renewal and hope, chosen by the American Cancer Society as an icon for the fight against cancer.

Other items that will work;

(Any yellow flower really)

OR even you could wear

OR If you'd prefer you can also wear whatever color of the Cancer your supporting. IMG of all? the ribbons and colors:Which you can see here

@ as soon as I get the motivation to change my HA I'm in. (please don't send me a barette though.

due to the law of atttraction, you get what you focus on. if you focus on health, that's what you will attract. if you focus on disease or lack of health, that's what you attract.

so I'm happy for you that you are happy with what you are doing, but I personally wouldn't want to join and focus on cancer.

if this was a "let's focus on health - month" I'd definitely join

to get our board up and moving all we ask is to wear a item of clothing to show support as with real life issues with my self and spidermanswife we are behind and this is a cause we are both very strong in supporting im sorry for that ping to all of that group but i thought as most of my friends are in there it was easier.thank you most of it is in the first post ok.@abmcg.

I have added black flower barrette and black flowers, for melanoma awareness. This is especially important to me as we go into the time when people, esp young women, want that 'perfect' tan, and even worse than naturally, by using 'tanning beds'. *shudder* Skin cancer can be extremely aggressive, and very deadly.

Wonder if I could find someone to make a forum set for me...and how much it would cost...

I try to take one day at a time - but sometimes several days attack me at once.

This is wonderful! I was just diagnosed with Breast Cancer on April 12th, so it's great to see support and awareness being spread here on one of my favorite sites.
I'd even go so far as to dress my HA in pink, but I just don't like pink. XD

This is a very nice idea to show support for so many affected. I too have lost some dear loved ones and still have friends with other diseases. I'll keep you all in my thoughts

As a cancer warrior I just want to say THANK YOU!!! Thank you for spreading awareness and support throughout Subeta. I have been fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma for about a year and a half now. Hodgkin Lymphoma's support color is violet. I'll be rocking a purple/violet and daffodil combo ASAP!

I just found this thread. I'm wearing a yellow flower barrette for my mother's good friend, who was diagnosed with breast cancer a little under a year ago and is still undergoing treatment for it.

@ I need to find something black to put on my HA. Melanoma runs in my family, unfortunately. My brother was actually diagnosed with it several years back, but they found it at stage 0 in a mole on his back and were able to remove it before it could spread.

@, I'm very glad your brother caught his early, and that your family is aware of the risk. So many people reacted to my husband's cancer with, "Well, at least it's JUST skin cancer..." That 'just' skin cancer killed him in less than 3 1/2 years. And it breaks my heart that so many young women esp are willing to risk it because the tanning industry lies about the danger...

I'll take a look and see if I have any extra black items...

@ I'm so sorry about your husband, and that people passed off his cancer as something relatively minor.

Re: black items, I think I'm just going to look for a pair of earrings. It also occurred to me that the

I'm already wearing might work.
