Can the zapper change species and not color?

I was just thinking the other day that I'd really like a glade darkonite. And today the zapper gave me a glade antlephore. I know if I zap there is a chance of it turning to a darkonite, but is there a chance of it keeping the color?

@Labradorite I think there is a very small chance it will change your pet into a Glade Darkonite, immediately after having it changed into a Glade Antlephore... However, I don't think it will just change the species. You are many, many times more likely to get something completely different.

The best way to get a Glade Darkonite is by using the cheapest Darkonite Elixir (Field Darkonite Elixir maybe... too tired to look them up) available then using a Glade Potion on the pet. It's fairly expensive but it's the only way to guarantee you will get exactly the pet you want.
