I figured I'd start another misc. conversation board for anyone who is around and feels like chatting.

So this has been a really bad week for me.

On Monday Alex had a fever induced seizure and we had to take him to the hospital. We found out he has a viral infection in his mouth/throat that they have no medication for and that all we can do is give him pain medications to help him deal with the symptoms. The poor little guy can barely eat/drink and is constantly drooling to avoid hurting his throat more. Also he is slightly contagious and I have to avoid his saliva and "wastes" for about a week (how on Earth can you take care of a child and avoid these things?)

Then I get a call from the hospital that they are changing my c-section date from Monday to Wednesday. So this completely messed up my plans and now my Mom doesn't have the day off anymore and has to sneak from the unit she works on to visit me (which she can only do for a few minutes).

And vent complete, lol

Oh goodness! That was almost too much bad luck to process at one time! Must be one of those Hexes lingering around, but I do hope things get better soon. I also hope that Alex bounces back quickly, and surprises both you and the doctors. As far as avoiding getting sick, just try your best and don't worry about the rest. Stress will not help keep you well, and it's the last thing you need while planning for a c-section!

Thoughts and prayers with you, maybe even a JuJu dance in my backyard to take the voodoo off you!

Oh no, sounds like things are rough and I'm hoping they get better for you You can only hope things will be better with time. Just have to look for that silver lining.

For me, I'm really wanting a vacation but I can't afford to go. I'm considering moving back with my parents cause it's rough right now living in an apartment even if I'm sharing it with someone. Just too much going on with money and making it hard. Can't say much else about what's been going on. Nothing new really.

He is starting to act like his old self, but there were a few days where he barely talked and all he did was sleep or cry. It was terrifying watching him. My doctor was actually surprise the stress and everything didn't put me into labor. Which would suck but I'm technically full term so it wouldn't be too serious if it did happen.

@Calico

I would love to have a vacation. Maybe in the next year or two we can actually get married and go on a honeymoon. We may just wait until the kids are a little older, save up and go to Disney World. Mom was saying she wanted to take us all but I would feel bad if we didn't at least chip in some for the trip. I think Mike would really like it there, he's a giant kid on the inside and if we go in the off season it won't be too warm for him or the boys.

I want to go to Disney World. Would be awesome to go there. Last time I was there I was like three or four so I don't remember it and for a kid that young, not much you can do there. xD

The last time I went, I was in grade 7. I think its something I want to do a few times with the kids. Like right now Alex is in love with Mickey Mouse and Pluto and I would love to see his face when he sees huge versions of them. Then I want to take them when they are older and can appreciate it more and have fun with all the different activities and rides. My little sister was 5 when we went the first time and she still remembers a lot of that trip but they have also taken her back a few times since then.

Yeah, I don't remember much of anything fromt he trip other than a bunch of time of watching my parents and older siblings go on rides that I couldn't go on.

I live in Florida I have made more trips to Disney than I can count, sometimes we'd go several times in one year. I even got stung by a scorpion, while staying in a condo down there. Not fun. I like Busch Gardens more, and you can usually get two park tickets and visit Sea World the next day. To me Disney is Parent Torture Session 101, and I don't even have kids! Haha. But beware losing your significant others to the Beer School, as they give out free drinks.

We divided up, me with dad and my sister with mom. Mom doesn't really go on rides so she took my sister around to do little people stuff.

@AnabellasSong

We went to Sea World when we were there too, but Busch Gardens was a little too old for us at the time. The Beer School is probably the last place I would lose Mike, he hates beer and hardly ever drinks. Now are there areas that give out free food, cause then he would be a goner lol

I am not much of a beer drinker myself, but Busch has some really awesome roller coasters which is why I like to go there. They are also not nearly as crowded, especially if you go during the week on an 'off' season. Plus they have animals that look very happy, unlike the restless pacing at some of the zoos I have been. My favorite time to go is during Halloween, like Universal they convert the park into a huge scare house deal. So in between getting the daylights scared out of you, you get to ride the coasters at night which is beyond cool.

My parents went during Halloween one year and they said it was awesome. They were even contestants in some Beetlejuice game show. We went during a food festival (I think it was Thanksgiving) and there were all these food booths set up at Epcot. One place smelt really nasty though and it was right by the Canadian area, so we kinda avoided our own country because of someone elses food lol

Oh that is too funny! I am weird about the way things smell myself, I would have probably done the same thing. I feel bad for any tourists this year, we've skipped Spring and ran headlong into Summer. Today we've got a high of 93, which means it will feel like 98 or higher in the sun. I am currently in northeast Florida, so I am sure those down in the central state area are feeling even hotter.

We tend to travel south in the early spring or fall, just cause we are not use to it being really hot. At the hottest here is might get about 100 but that is very rare. Right now we are hanging out in the 70s which is just fine for me at the moment.

I think the lack of rain as cost us dearly the past two years, there is a fire burning up on the other side of the state line that has been going for two years. We've got something like almost 200 wildfires burning, and depending on which way the wind shifts right now you wake up to fogged out conditions of smoke. They claim to have most of them contained, but each time another storm front moves through and drops lightning another one seems to flare up. Hurricane season starts on the first, and I am actually hoping for a more active season just to get some seriously needed rain.

Thats pretty intense. We usually dont have a lot of problems with wildfires here. They pop up every once in a while but usually are put out within a day or two. Probably has something to do with the fact we are a small island.

It has been pretty wild, lots of animal sightings inside city limits. Bears, panthers, even a couple gators. Everything seems to be feeling the heat, so I am keeping my fingers crossed for some nice steady rain. Or we might end up losing the 4th of July fireworks again.

Normally Canada Day is cancelled because of clouds/rain, I dont think it has ever been cancelled because of dry weather. It may also have something to do with the fact that we launch them from a barge in the middle of the harbor.

They launch them from a barge in the middle of the river, but they will ban all firework both public and private if we don't get enough rain. If they put a Burn Ban in effect, they will go out and fine people for risking setting us all on fire. I think it's because most of this city burned down back in the early 1900's.

I guess its cause we don't get very dry here. The most I think we ever have are camp fire/grass burning bans. Mostly due to the face we are very rural pretty much everywhere and fires spread fast when people don't know what they are doing.

@Calico

I have no idea what that means lol

Wow... it feels like it's been FOREVER since I've gotten to play around on Subeta!!

My life these past few weeks has been HECTIC! I wont go into all the details, but long story short: spent a couple weeks packing up everything in my house(and drinking and smoking dope and taking lots of pills), then spent half a day loading up a truck(got lots of blisters, cuts and bruises), then spent 11 hours in said truck with two screaming cats who peed in their crates within the first 5 minutes(so had to bask in the scent of cat urine the whole way), then spent another couple of hours unloading the truck in my new place. And now I'm pretty much slowly getting settled in. I still have a lot of work to do, but figured that since I got my computer up I'd check in and say,"Hi!" to all of you

C-section on Wednesday Was supposed to be tomorrow but the hospital was over booked and bumped me back by two days. I get why they are over booked because two girls on my facebook just had their babies over the past few days lol

Wow, that was an intense story. Sounds like when it rains it pours for all of us

I begged for rain and got a Tropical Storm! And not only did it make landfall right on top of us, it got stalled out then pushed back east to give us a second round! Now we are all drowned rats, lol. I am ready for that baby to get here, so we can all see some cute baby pictures!

Me and Cameron are out of the hospital after only two days. He was 8 lbs 2 oz at birth and 19 inches long, so a little bit smaller then his big brother was. Also he had a lovely faux-hawk at birth, which was super adorable
