Okay, so I have this problem with either my tablet, or photoshop elements, or something. I cannot make dark, smooth lines, only textured blotchy ones. Now, you would think this would be a simple setting/brush selection problem, but the choppiness is effecting every single brush, and I've tried adjusting all the normal brush and tablet settings, and all the "Additional Brush Settings", but nothing changes it at all. I've had this problem before and fixed it. I remember what I did was semi-complicated, but I cant remember for the life of me what I did.... Does anyone have any idea how I can change the settings to make smooth, dark line art possible? Oh and here's an example of how all my lines are coming out:

Yes, I am probably an idiot, and this is probably the dumbest problem ever, but I need help xD

Oh my tablet is a Wacom Intuos, and I think I have like elements 8 or 9

I used to have this problem all the time when I was using elements (but I had version 2 and 4 so a looongg time ago xD). I was so confused the first time it happened as well.

I'm pretty sure it's the brush hardness. When you open up the brush setting turn it all the way up (I think the max is 100). Flow and spacing should be up to the max as well.

You can try resetting all the brushes too if that doesn't work.

I hope that's helpful. I haven't had experiences with the latest versions of Elements so my answer might be a shot in the dark.

Ahh, yeah, I just got this new elements not long ago myself, and it actually doesnt even have a Flow setting :/ I've tried Hardness at like 10, and 100 and everywhere in between.. And I have tried resetting all brushes. But thank you so much for your help, i'm glad I'm not the only one who has suffered from this strange problem! lol

Haha thank you! :3 If all else fails, I will do what I usually do; abandon technology and go back to my trusty pens and markers lol

Looks like it might be spacing to me (should be in brush settings somewhere), try turning it down to 1% or whatever your lowest setting is.

If not... I'm not sure. Good luck solving it!
