Welcome to (Miniature) You Be The Designer, a miniature version of Subetan Runway's premier fashion event! This season, we're inviting everyone to join our event and become a designer. The rules are a bit more complex than your typical avatar contest, so stick around!

Acronyms + Lingo

(M)YBTD = (Miniature) You Be The Designer. This is the event!
SL = Signature Look. A Signature Look is the main avatar design your line is based upon.
SI(s) = Signature Item(s). Signature Items are items you'll choose to showcase on your avatars.
Line. A line is what your avatars are as a whole because, as a designer, you are designing the looks of the avatars in a cohesive manner.

Becoming A Designer

You'll be creating three avatars. One of them will be your Signature Look (SL), and the other two will be your Models. It's not that simple, though, as you must choose and use five Signature Items!

Creating Your Line

There is a 4 item per layer limit, so please keep this in mind, especially when creating your SL. You may use the salon and have a tattoo as long as they do not distract from the SIs or from the avatars as a whole. You may use 1 custom wearable on your SL, and on your SL only.

Your Signature Look is the main design your line is based upon, and as such, it must use all 5 of your Signature Items. You will be asked to wear your SL when posting your completed line, so make sure you own all of the items you use!

You will also be creating two models to display two additional designs. Both of your Models must use no less than 2 of your Signature Items, but no more than 3 of your of your Signature Items. Each of your Signature Items must be used. You will not be asked to wear either of the outfits created for your Models, so you may use items that you do not own unless they are custom wearables (as only 1 is allowed on your SL only) or NPC / unreleased items, as they are not allowed at all.

Choosing Your Signature Items (SI / SIs)

As a designer, you will be choosing your 5 Signature Items from a list of wearables. Pay attention to the items you select, however, as you will have to wear all 5 of them on your Signature Look. Your Signature Items need to be at least 50% visible on each of your avatars, as Signature Items are to be showcased and not hidden! Choose your Signature Items from the spoiler below. You'll be choosing 1 item from each category for a total of 5 items.

Things To Keep In Mind

(M)YBTD is a Subetan parallel of what you would see in a real world fashion show. Please limit the use of background, foreground, and ground items. If you use a background item in your Signature Look, you must use it on both models as well.

Please save your Signature Look and your Models in the standard Subetan format: a 125px × 250px transparent or white background .PNG image.

Entering (M)YBTD

To enter (M)YBTD, create your avatars within the rules listed above. You may only enter one line! Once your line is complete and you're ready to enter, wear your Signature Look, and upload your Signature Look and Models to an image host. Post your line in the following format.

When posting your line, please ping the #HBIC group! This is so they may confirm that you wore your SL when posting.

Design Period: You have from June 14th through June 30th to design and present your lines.
Voting Period: July 1st through July 4th are reserved for voting!

Winners + Prizes

You, the lovely public, will be deciding which of our cult's designers has the best line as well as deciding which of the guest designers has the best line. There is also a secret voting cateogory, so don't count yourself out!

Winners will be announced on July 5th, and prizes will be handed out to both the winners and the participants.

I would love to join but I'm very picky with the items I use for my HA's. I'm more into fantasy/Abstract items, not very good at making realistic ones, considering the item choices.

I've always done things backwards. . . when teachers and professors wanted outlines for papers, I'd always write the paper first. . . then go back and do an outline to humor them XD And they'd be like WOW your paper really followed your outline XD

Ughh I do not want to go to sleep boo getting up early ;___; maybe i can at least get a rough idea for the SL in place before i absolutely have to crash.

Question, should we keep our models the same base (male/female) as our SL? Or can we mix and match?

And thank you Anesthesia I've been really lazy about making new HAs lately to steal a phrase from Linens I may get e-lice from this wig by the time I am done with it haha :0)

Mixing and matching is allowed (and encouraged!). I find a lot of fun in trying to create really different looks based around the theme.

If there's anything particular you're looking for, I'd be happy to root through my wardrobe if you wanted to borrow them. I own all the SIs so would be happy to lend them out for a while.

I think I may have to admit defeat for the night and actually sleep XD
