... and I am so excited. I think we pretty much have everything sorted, but I can't shake the feeling that I might have missed something awesome.

We are having a Vintage Italian themed wedding as we got engaged in Rome.

Does anyone have any amazing ideas related to this theme that I may have missed and that we could incorporate into our big day?

@Celyn Well you're probably really excited about it so why not tell us the general rundown? We won't know what you've missed otherwise. And congrats btw

@Dandelina Thank You
We have made old italian postcard bunting, doily bunting, named tables after places we visited in Rome, Used luggage tags as place settings for peoples names, have sugared almonds as favours, a cookie table and an accordion player.
I've also cut hearts out of an italian book for confetti and ive used pages from the italian book as bunting.

I feel maybe theres a lot more I could have done with this theme, but I cant think of anything.

@Celyn Well I'm not remotely Italian so I had to use Google for this:

http://worldweddingtraditions.com/locations/west_europe_traditions/italian_traditions.html
http://www.romanticitalianweddings.com/italian-weddings.php
http://www.unrv.com/culture/roman-weddings.php

I wish I had had more money to put towards my wedding, I pretty much had none. I've promised myself that whenever we renew our vows I'll have it themed like a traditional German wedding (since we're both of German heritage, and I like Germany) so this Italian idea sounds really fun. I hope it's everything you want it to be.

@Celyn
Congratulations
I don't know anything about it, but maybe some Italian wedding traditions could be fun to look into?

Wow! Congratulations first of all! Getting married is a very exciting and wonderful thing. I married an Irish/Italian man in March on St. Patrick's Day. I think your theme is completely wonderful. What about your menu? Does that reflect traditional Italian dishes? You know, lasagna, homemade meatballs, etc. And I know you said you had a cookie bar, is that for your cocktail hour or dessert? If you need more ideas for dessert what about an expresso/biscotti bar? Or a gelato bar? I simply adore gelato. The Italian culture is so rich and romantic and your wedding will definitely reflect that. Also, what about a photo slideshow if you don't already have one? You could even put the pictures into a photo editor and give them sepia tones to have that vintage look. Just out of curiosity, what are your colors?

Ahem. Anyways, congratulations! I went to a wedding once that sounded somewhat like the one you described, with tables named after places in Europe that the couple visited for their engagement.

Congratulations! It sounds like it will be a nice wedding. Make sure you have lots of Italian desserts. They're the best!
