So I've finally made my way back on to Subeta, with perfect timing too. Summer just started and it's a kind of bitter-sweet feeling, but hey, we're out of school, right? So I'm curious, what is everyone doing this summer?

Mine is just going to be the same old lathargic summer it always is, I'm going to write more, hopefully, do all my AP summer work, and hopefully catch up on everything I've missed in my year or so hiatus from Subeta! So in short, I will be holed up in my pitch black room for the entirety of summer.

@Southie
I'll be prepping for college. I have orientation next Thursday and I'm sort of excited and sort of nervous. I plan on going on a couple daycations with my mom and friends, but that's it otherwise.

Please ping if you reply!

I get to be a senior when I return to school, woo! I'm so excited to get to college, just another year. Gotta pass my 4 AP classes this year, and I'll be gone. Gone gone gone. Which college are you going to, if you don't mind me asking?
Daycations are wonderful too. =w=

^-^' I'm not exactly comfortable saying where, but it is on the east coast. I only had 3 AP classes this year: world, chem, and lang. Which AP courses are you taking?

Please ping if you reply!

@Oblivia
AP Lit, Biology, European History, and Chemistry. I think I'm going to die a horrible, painful, forever alone death.

@Southie
Lit at our school was a hard course, and bio was the hardest one offered (according to the students who took a multitude of classes), but it depends on what type of student you are, too. I absolutely loved chemistry! The rate and buffer units were my favorite. Chemistry is not an easy class, and the book didn't help us at all, so it's a great thing that our teacher prepared us well for the test and had a great chemistry background.

@Oblivia
Well, they're all classes I absolutely love, so I'm hoping they're not too much. Biology is one of the subjects I've always been good at, but Chem. this year was really iffy, even in a lower level class, our book was entirely useless. Luckily, for AP Chem next year I have the best teacher in the school. Regardless, I'm a horrible student, but I'm hoping to make up for it next year. Hoping.

If you have a great chem teacher and a relentless work ethic, you'll do great ^o^ I do recommend that if/when you do review packets out of the 5 steps to a 5 ap chem book that you don't cheat. You can find every question/answer on the internet, but only use it as a checking guide. I know a lot of people who cheated on them and thought the test was hard. OH, and another thing, don't rush the test and remember to re-read the questions! I made so many mistakes (seemingly) on the free responses just because I wasn't double checking my answers. I know this is early advice, but it's never bad, haha.

@Southie

Usually I go somewhere in Europe every summer but this summer all I have planned is going to the beach and shopping. I have made 2 small trips to Padre Island and New Orleans, but it's no 2 week trek through Italy haha. It feels so weird to not be going anywhere.

I'm currently taking a summer class at my uni so my days are pretty boring - 3 hours on campus, then at home for the rest of the day vegetating on the couch.. I'll pretty much be a senior (1 class off) once the fall semester starts, even though I've only spent 2 years at college so far. I'm so glad I did all the AP courses I did back in HS, since they knocked pretty much an entire year off my study.

Speaking as a University sciences major with a few chemistry courses under her belt, let me just say that you really have to keep on top of your studies in advanced chem classes! It's not easy, but it is pretty fascinating. Good luck with your AP classes!

As for my summer plans, I'm going on a road trip with my mom next month for 4 days to a resort one province over, then I'm going on a long-weekend-long road trip with my BFF in August, and then I have 10 days off from work in August, too, that I don't know what I'm going to do with yet, but it'll be awesome.

I'll be counseling (i think i spelled that right..) at a kids camp this summer..

well sort of. This year I'm doing the LiT (Leader in training) program. So that will take up a good chunk of my summer. I leave to go up in.. 9 days now! and then after the week up there I come home for a bit and I'm back up on july 29th til the 2nd of september. So i guess the month that I'm at home will be spent trying to hang out with friends, watching supernatural or what ever anime I feel like watching this summer, possibly drawing silly sketches on my tablet, and waiting for it to be time to go back up to camp again. haha

I'm actually so excited! I went up for the may long weekend with the group of 60+ kids I'll be training with and they're all so wonderful!

The only thing I'm a little concerned about is that one of the girls in my small group is PETRIFIED of bug/ and animal. This wouldn't be too much of a hassle if we weren't camping up north in the woods or even worse for when we're on the canoe trip. I find it kind of odd too because she seems like such a tough girl especially since he plays rugby, but she screeched when a chipmunk ran up to us while we were sitting in a circle. It probably doesn't help my case that when girls have that high pitched scream that some of them do it irritates me. So yeah that will be interesting!

sorry for the wall of text.

@Southie
Getting ready for my senior recital (my last year of college is finally here! Almost out of here), traveling, working out, and traveling to Atlanta, Georgia for my fraternity's National Convention. The chapter chose me as the delegate, so I am representing the chapter at my school. This is only held every 3 years, so it is truly an honor.

I'm also going to write a book. I just decided this yesterday. I'm going to write it on how I conquered most of my negative Asperger's Syndrome traits, so it can help people. Announced it on FB last night and my friends are excited and they are telling me they know it's going to kick ass.

I also have tons of gigs.

I'm sure I left out like 29 things. lol

Peace. Love. Avenged Sevenfold.

Well, I have no money, so my summer plans...actually my life plans, entail forcing someone to hire me. My mother apparently thinks I can just walk into a place and get a job. Like I can just snap my fingers and a job will appear out of thin air. I've been looking online, in the paper, at a job center...I have my bachelor's degree in graphic design...I'm trying, but there's just nothing around. I'm scraping by at this one-day-a-week job I have at the local paper, which I love to death, but it's just not enough money.

We do have plans in September, for Labor Day, though. My parents, my best friend, and I are going to walk across the Mackinac Bridge (Google is your friend!) for their annual Labor Day Bridge Walk. I've never done it before and I'm excited. Then we're going to Mackinac Island (Google!!), maybe Tahquamenon Falls (I hope the wildfire up there didn't wreck the place) and a couple other local spots.

I'm taking four AP classes next year (lang, stats, chem, and gov), but I don't have any summer work for stats or government, thank goodness. For lang I just have to read one of the books on my teacher's little list, and we're going to write an in-class essay the first week back. I've already got my book (The Help) read though, and it was absolutely fantastic. For chem, I'm supposed to memorize some lists, like solubility rules, different cations/anions, strong acids/bases, etc. butttt I haven't really looked at anything, and all I've managed to memorize is that all nitrates, acetates, and chlorates are soluble with no exceptions. :p

other than that, my summer's pretty...bland tbh. although most of my summers are, haha. I'm going to Gustavus Adolphus' Summer Speech Institute, which ought to be fun, I hope. I'm ridiculously awkward though and awful at 'getting to know you' type activities, and I know I'm probably just going to shrivel up and die when people ask me, "SO. what did you do this summer?"

Volunteering at an animal shelter, sleeping, going to a con.

Possibly lots and lots of gaming if Guild Wars 2 comes out by the end of July (doubting it).

I'm planning on travelling (Croatia, Finland and Greece (eep, so excited)), catching up on some TV shows (Bones, Castle, Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy - hope I'll be able to finish them), reading (no idea what yet ), watching lots of films (mainly on TV as I have no idea what to watch, so TV kinda acts as a recommender xD), hanging out with my friends, and perhaps working out.
Also, being really nervous about my new school, and will I make any friends, and I'm just very scared of September.

I leave at the end of next week to work at a horse stable as a Camp Councillor/stable hand/and if needed a trail guide. That is basically going to be my entire life right there.

I don't really have anything planned for the summer, I never do. Summer vacation is usually the same for me every year: relax at home, go out occasionally. When I'm at home, I: draw, watch stuff on netflix, mess around on the internet(mostly tumblr hah).
However, this summer my mother is going on a trip! And surprise surprise, my parents still don't like the idea of me staying alone at home so my dad is giving me a job at the restaurant he works at. I'll be working there part time so I won't be home alone too long. I feel pretty pathetic typing this lol.
BUT! I've never really had any job experience before and I'm bored out of my skull, so it's not too bad. I think I start work in a week or two.

OH, and I also have AP summer assignments to do haha @^@; I'm taking my first AP course this coming school year! I'm not really feeling nervous or anything right now, but I'm sure the feeling will come once school comes closer.
