There is now an option to specify a maximum number of batches to release (either unlimited or limited) when you upload a new custom wearable. Please note that it will be considered scamming from this point forward if you mislead customers about the release limits on your CWs. You will also not be able to put limited-release items into the cash shop.

Thanks for posting this. I think this will help a lot of people out.

EDIT: Like, it'd be nice to know for when I try to work with CWs, heehee.

Well this will certainly stop people from making people pay way more than they should for a batch (claiming it's limited) only to put it in the CS later on and screw everyone over. I like this. :>

I have to say I, as a customer, really appreciate that last statement. I don't always pay attention to the forums and I would add stuff from the shop to my wishlist to get later and then somehow find out that it was only a limited release anyway.

Oh thank goodness something was finally done about this. I literally have refused to pay more than 600 CSC for any wearable ever since the CS introduction because I don't know who I can trust any more (they might put in the CS for 600 CSC later).

@grelca
I think this is great for those things where someone has said I'm only going to release 2 batches or whatever and will be really helpful and offer some security to buyers and I completely understand lying about that being punishable, but what about items that are unlimited for a certain amount of time? Or that will be open for a batch every three months or something? Would that fall under limited release or unlimited? And if something is unlimited then do slots need to remain indefinitely open in order to have that be true? I'm probably over-thinking this, lol, just want to better understand exactly how staff is viewing this.

@Dannica It's solely just people making a maximum number they can make. if they call it unlimited, they're not obligated to keep releasing them forever, though they would have that option. How people release their slots is really up to them.. the purpose of this is just making it so people can't say I'M ONLY RELEASING ONE OF THIS to charge a really high amount per slot and then continue to release more, which makes people feel cheated.

Uh... Is there any way for this to apply to old items too? I had loads (and I mean loads) of retired items that I'm never pulling out again, and it's a bit of a pain having to scroll all the way past them every time I add slots to something new.

#firstworldproblems and all that.

Cool. So does some kind of message appear in the payment section that says "this item is limited to x number of batches" or something so the buyers know that it is *offically* limited and not a self-imposed limit that may be subject to change?

This is great. I personally lot a lot of respect for a few people after seeing them put 'super limited never being sold again charging you 1k CSC' items into the Cash Shop. Glad to see we won't be dealing with that anymore. Thanks for this feature!

*~*perspective is reflexive*~*

This makes me super happy! It guarantees that a limited item that I/my customer purchases WILL never be released again, which pleases the collector in me as much as it frustrates it (I want every wearable!).

I think this is great, but am a little confused about one thing. So even if you stop selling at, say three batches, it would count as unlimited in the case that you stopped because interest died? Would you also be allowed to stick it into the CS later on if more people are interested, but not enough to fill a batch? So temp. retirement is allowed, correct? This is really being implemented in order to prevent people from charging more for a slot and then putting it in the CS, so three batches doesn't count as limited unless you automatically set it as the max number of batches?

@bjorn Right. You're just setting a maximum, you don't have any obligation to ever reach that maximum.

It at least makes people really think about how many batches they want to release, and keeps them to their word once they've decided (:

I'm so glad this was finally implemented! I felt so bad for the people who paid up to 1k CSC for "super limited one batch ever" items to see them later in the cash shop. I'll surely be more inclined to purchase limited items, that now I know they're limited for real

While this sounds great now, I'm sure this won't be great in some situations.

I have the feeling that this will hinder some users in the future. Yes, the artist will stay true to their word on batches. But, no CW artist really knows how well their item will go until it is actually approved and in the system.
Down the line, more users will desire the item. But, now they only have a small batch to acquire from. Here we are, back to the root of this problem, users paying far more for a CW than they should.

I'm glad this was implemented, but its pretty pathetic that the users who already did this and have their items in the cash shop right now got away with it. Pretty crapty of the staff to say they get away with it, but anyone else will be punished.... I've lost a lot of respect for the users who did this, but I lost even more for the staff who refuse to punish the people who already did this where there is PROOF of them doing it.

If the artist isn't sure, it would make more sense to leave it open, especially if they aren't sure that they are going to get many people interested? I guess that I just don't it being an issue, if the artist (like Dio who tends to like to make personal items limited) knows they only want a certain amount of an item then they should mark that it's limited, if a different artist doesn't know how many batches they want to make then leave it unlimited

I have a feeling I'm missing your point
