#Apotheosis

Yes, I am asking for your opinion on how much I should be charging for my custom wearables! c:

I am on hiatus from drawing drafts of custom wearables, due to all the issues currently surrounding the entire system, but I thought it might be nice to get second opinions on how I should be pricing my custom wearables, if ever people actually become interested in buying them.

At the moment, my stipulated cost per copy of an item in every batch is 500 CSC. Would this be too high for any of the following?

*All of these examples are outdated by 3 months; I use a style similar to the right-most image, but slightly sharper.

I'll also appreciate any help in making an sP price for a copy of these. I currently have it pegged to the sP equivalent of a 500 CSC card, or that of one 250 CSC card + two 100 CSC cards, whichever is lower at the time.

Do my prices look fair, or should I lower them, and pay additional costs apart from the 500 CSC for my own copy? Thank you very much in advance!

hope is infinite.
(many thanks to the veta lake zapper and suzuya for my forumset art!)

@hoar
600 csc. (you know it )

It does not make sense for you to charge any less than 5k csc, you shouldn't have to fund it yourself especially if it's not something for a character/something personal to you.

Blunt honesty follows:
I like the example on the (extreme) left and the one (although highly unfinished) on the right (I def think you could get away with 600 for these), but regardless of anything else, if you are this worried about your art not being "worth" 600 csc, work more on it until it is. And then release the items; if the slots won't fill (on a common item, like wigs), then you'll know you still have to work more

*hugs* This should be a business and a way for you to raise csc for your needs, not a giveaway WE LOVE YOU ALREADY

@Hoar

You should be charging 600 CSC like Blanche and I have been telling you xDDDDD It only makes since. And you really should make a small profit so you can pay for your own copy.
No 500 would not be to high for any of those awesome wigs it would be too low O_O

@Blanche
To be fair, the two recolours in the middle are items personal to one of my characters; I was only really looking forward to getting a copy of the black and red ones initially (because those are the only colours Vera has and will EVER have her hair in, but people seemed to be really interested in the green-ish one AND I've received the suggestion to do the red/blonde and white/black ones too. xD

I wish I had more time to work on them, though. Sadly, I am only left to my improvised devices, such as my pen and paper. I wish I could've gotten away with fully-vectored wigs in my own style, but it's not Subeta style AT ALL, so eh. I've released the items ever since Apotheosis opened, but I suppose I really have no choice but to scrap them now. It's a shame, because I had my hopes set for Vera's hair.

*hugs* I just feel bad profiting over it, because I'm not as worthy as a lot of more talented artists. I've also been coercing zooky and Demii to charge 600 CSC instead of 500 CSC (I hope I did not start some kind of masochistic trend,) because their art matches the calibre of artists like bean, and conforms to Subeta's guidelines much better than mine.

I can't seem to release or even tell anyone about the example I posted on the extreme left, because of User not found (1): Jerk's wig with a similar body. I drew this at least a month before she released hers, but never got around to colouring it. :C

@Midnight_X
;; Thank you very much! I am REALLY tempted to charge at least 525 CSC OR 550 CSC (because if I charge the latter, all the profit I'll be getting can go into me having a copy, without having to dole out money of my own.)
I'm really glad that you think so, but I'm not quite sure about majority of Subeta's "custom wearable-active" userbase.

you are loved.

Just thought I'd share my opinion too, though it is the same as the two above me: SELL FOR 600 CSC
I think it is really silly when CW Artists sell their batches for 500 (Namely you and Kelzca as far as I know). If people are willing to pay 500 CSC for it, which is equivalent to $5/15M sP, they shouldn't be complaining about spending 100 CSC more. Although I cannot draw, I know how much work goes into each CW and making some profit is something you deserve. Obviously people think it is good, if a batch fills up. That is 9 people already who like it. Fill another batch? Now you know 19 people think your art is good and worth spending money on.

O_O You should charge 600 CSC! Please don't scrap your Vera wig, I really want that wig. As for you saying your items are not worth 600 O_O you are wrong, you are a wonderful artist and ALL your items are worth 600. Just look at the item I drew it's terrible in comparison to yours.
As for your items not selling that might be because you never released that green one up there xDDDDDDD The Vera wigs I'm not sure, maybe because they're more male?

Hm.
If the middle wigs aren't coming out as they are and you'd like to have them for yourself, I'd suggest not scrapping them entirely, but re-working them and setting it as a limited release custom (maybe one batch only, so you can get yours)!
I don't think you should give up on the idea at all. There is no reason to! If you can't get it done now... what's the problem? There is no deadline for you to get that on site or anything!

Also, there are customs out there whose quality, to me, isn't high enough for subeta, yet they are still there - were approved and sold decently. So why do you think *your* items would not?
You shouldn't feel bad if your art is not quite like bean's yet, you're profiting off of your hard work - which will eventually get you up there if you have enough time for practicing.

About that example, you can just tweak the rest of your wig so it still looks different from Jerk's. There are plenty of short hairstyles coming out! Even if yours were still quite similar to hers, I am completely sure she knows (and staff will know when they judge it) that you didn't mean to copy her work, so as long as you can get your slots filled you really shouldn't worry about anyone else

@Hoar
I also think you should charge 600
I have a slightly different concept for my artwork, so I'm comfortable with my price, but there's a whole thought behind which you don't have, since you think you should charge less because you dislike your work u.u
