@ I love the smell of gasoline too. Can't get enough of it. I love when my husband and I are driving in our Mustang and have to stop at a light, then the fumes just start piling up lol.

@ My theory is that the reason it smells good is because it kills brain cells. Just like the way we aren't really supposed to like cupcakes

@shiba I've got no idea what its original application was, but it works like glue and they used to let us use it in grade school until kids started asking to do crafts just so they could inhale the stuff.

I love the smell of gasoline and Lowe's too XD

Cleaning products! Usually the citrus kind and all laundry detergents. I will also go around opening and smelling the Axe and shampoo bottles. The smell of the 'back to school' isle is also very appealing to me.

Oh, a Mustang c: What kind? My boyfriend recently sold is other '03 Cobra, but he's just dying to get a new one, lol.
He scares the hell out of me though with his go fast cars, lol. I kinda hope he doesn't get another one because I know he's gonna be going 200 at 3am all over again. :S

@ @mania Yeah it's his baby. A '99 GT. It's got some modifications for racing..I don't know what exactly, he knows of course, but I know that it's very loud and bad for the environment. He pretty much gets a compliment on it from a stranger every time he drives it.

And I love the smell of burning fire wood too. I'm so glad this apartment has a fire place.

I love the smell of gasoline and hardware stores too. I went to Lowes the other day and I was just like..wow this place smells amazing.

Hardware stores, wood. Um... Steel? Actually I don't know if it is steel, lol. I think it is steel, but the reason I like is mostly because of my dad. The way he smelled coming from work when he was a welder. xD I think it's just because of when I was little and he'd come home and I'd be like YAY and run up to him and smell that smell. So I guess it's just associated with that happiness and I get like, nostalgic. :p

I'm sure a lot of people are with me on this, but I love the smell of books.

And also, I used to HATE the smell of vinegar, but after cleaning with it for hours and hours, I'm beginning to like it a little. It's odd.

@ DITTO ON BOOKS. I am not even ashamed to say that I often sniff books before I buy and/or read them and I've made the decision between two books by which one's paper smelled better before. can't stop won't stop

Books, cat breath (though not right after they've eaten), wood, sawdust, skunk (like, smelling it in the distance. So you KNOW it's there, but it's not right in your face), garlic (ANYTHING. Even garlic breath), fire, rust, and that smell you get when you touch or rub pierced ears.

My favorites are damp pavement/cement/asphalt, dirt (wet or dry, but has to smell earthy in a clay/sand/silt sense, not organic matter), sawdust, pencil shavings (Ticonderoga pencils smell the best!), and hot shower water that has a trace of minerals/metals/whatever (tends to smell a little like damp pavement or metal).

IDK why I like these so much, but then again I have tasted and liked most of them lol.

Yay, I'm not alone! I enjoy flipping through the pages simply because the scent momentarily lingers in the air. I always do this while standing in the middle of the bookstore... like a ~weirdo~

Also, your post and a few others remind me that I love the smell of candles just after they've been blown out. I always associate it with birthdays, for obvious reasons.

Oh, and two more smells I love: Christmas trees and wet asphalt after a good rain.
