Black and Gold & Purple Cross Patchs - Why so ludicrously expensive!?

As you can see from my HA, I'm currently wearing the Orange Cross Patch. Which, at this moment, costs a meager 17k SP.

The other Cross Patches tend not to be expensive.

Blue is around 47k, Pink at about 42k, White at a tiny 800sp, Green at a tiny 5k, Red is about 52k.

All of these are pretty low-ish prices. None of it even goes over 55k.

...Except the last three, the Black, Gold and Purple Cross Patches.

Purple hits 1.4 million, Black at 4 million and gold at an absolutely ludicrous 6 million SP!

What the hell!?

I know these are retired, but what makes those three so special? Why do i need to save up 4 goshdarn million just to afford an eyepatch for my HA's right eye that doesn't have an ugly brown splodge on it?

Why is it, when one of these items costs only 800sp, there is a version that is only a slightly different shade, but costs over 6,000,000sp at it's cheapest!?

I don't know when these were released, where those three just.. rarer? Or something? Or is this just a case of prices making no bloody sense whatsoever?

All of those items only stock in this shop for I believe 10 days. It might just be people jacking the price up.

Then why the hell does one cost 800sp when another costs 6mil? Even for price jacking that makes pretty much no sense!

I don't know for sure, but considering the overall average is 800k and there are only 3 on the Shop Search it just looks like someone either bought up most of them or there weren't that many to begin with @

Well crap.

I hate situations like this. There's one, very specific and simple item I need (a black eyepatch for my HA's right eye) and it turns out there's only one of that item around and it costs a stupid amount of money.

@ those were pretty high rarity when they did stock so not too many entered the system

you can see this reflected in other holiday shop items like, say, the Drinking Game Rules, which stocked during Alegarten

I mean, I can't imagine that much demand

Weird subeta economics rearing its head again, what can you do. It's probably rare or super rare when not retired (I've noticed those 'neutral' colors like black like to be for some reason) AND Freyalise shows up in summer so it had a whole year to vanish off the market.
On the upside when it opens again, which should be relatively soon, you can even try restocking.

erm, I hate to be insensitive or whatnot, but 4m isn't much in pursuit of the ~perfect avatar xD
maybe you can see if the people who have it in trades is willing to, well, trade ?

@ those three were absolutely higher in rarity. I collected all of them the first year they were released except the gold and purple. I had to wait till the next year when they were released again and even then it took some doing to get them.

4m might be easy for you to attain. But it's not exactly a picnic for somebody who doesn't spend all that much time on Subeta, especially for one item with one very specific use.

4mil is NOT that hard to make. If you spent even just a little time each day you're on here restocking or doing quests instead of complaining about the prices of things, maybe you'd get it quicker. And maybe you should learn the forum rules before you start posting and complaining about 4mil being too much

perhaps I should've worded it better, but I was mostly referring to myself. I personally wouldn't hesitate to spend 4m for the ~perfect (to me) avatar. but I wouldn't necessarily spend that much on say, a minion for my pet.

@ Again, that's pretty subjective. 4mil might be easy as pie for you to earn, but you aren't everybody. Try to remember that, please. Plus, I fail to see the need for such a foul attitude. Actually for a lot of users it isn't too hard to make four million - try doing the wizard quests and saggitarius quests and then sell the tokens you got from the wizard and you should be quite well on your way (you can call this subjective, but it honestly is that simple). Another idea is to check the advertisement forum, which might help you get the item a bit cheaper as well. You are being a bit foul yourself by complaining the way you are about the price of an item.

The thing with items from a set is that some have a higher rarity then others, meaning that they will show up less in shops and thus be less in circulation and thus the price for these items is higher.

I know there are dozens of people out there who have their strategies and whatever, and I never said I couldn't make the money, I just said it wasn't as easy for me to do as it is for, say, yourself.

If I make 4 million, chances are, I'm not going to dedicate it to a single item I already own a variation of.

I'm just annoyed that I would need to do such a thing for something so simple. It's always like this, though. The most basic looking clothing usually costs the most absurd of prices.

Think of it as a fun quest to collect money to achieve something. The money making tips Quirina offered are excellent. They're the way I earned millions in a week to buy this 4.7 million Ghost Costume, and I had fun collecting that money c:

Perhaps you could use something else that covers the right eye as a placeholder before you get to buy the patch you want, maybe

or something else? Just a suggestion

It is kind of difficult to understand, yes. Achieving your goal does require you to dedicate some of your time working towards it, and I can only understand it being difficult if you're not willing to do this. Doing quests can hardly be called difficult, so that is not the problem.

I can understand to a certain extent that you're frustrated seeing the item you want going for a higher price than another similar looking item. In the end though, if you feel that the item you want is too pricey then you settle for something less. Just because you feel the price isn't fair, doesn't actually make it not fair. There is logic behind the item being more expensive and this logic has been explained to you. So it is up to you whether you want to buy this item or not; there are plenty of users willing to share their strategies of money making with you... it just seems you aren't interesting.

They are also the most expensive because they are so versatile. Something that can easily be used will be worth more than something that isn't.

@ Here let me put it this way.
I just finished doing both my wiz and saggi quests. I actually had a crapty day with them and had to skip a bunch, but I started with 50k on hand and I now have 885k on hand. Add to that the 400 wiz tokens I made. Those are going for a bit less than 1k per token so I'll probably make somewhere around 300-350k selling them. Adding that together it's a bit over 1mil profit for about an hour of work. I hate questing. I find it boring and tedious, but even I won't deny it is a great and very easy way to make sp.
