I'm still kind of a newbie -- haven't been here a full year yet. I've done some battling, but this new revamp has confused me and I'm trying to figure out how to battle with the pet I wanted to make my new battler. It seems that there's a big gap in opponents from 'easy' to 'medium' levels, and I'm having trouble. I thought maybe Battle Quests would be my answer.

I tried the guides, but nothing seems to specifically address BQs (and some of them are now gone entirely.) My new battler is only tier 3. It looks like because I also have a tier 5 pet, my first opponent was Mephisto, and I got my tier 3 pet's butt whupped.

Is it even possible for me to use my tier 3 pet to do BQs now, or do I have to keep training him until he's higher? And if so, then what's the point of trying to do BQs if they can't benefit the pet you want them to? Someone please help me understand how this works...

@Penemuel
The opponents you get in BQs don't relate to what tier you fall in (unless this changed in the last few hours). You will get any range of opponents from Aboxalypse to Prodigy. If you can't win against an opponent just cancel the quest and start a new one until you find an opponent you can beat. They just show up randomly, so some days you might get a lot of really hard opponents or a lot of easy ones or a nice mixture.

Thank you! I didn't even know it was random - that's how much a noob I am about some things. LOL. I'll try it again tomorrow

@Penemuel
You're welcome. It can definitely get confusing trying to figure all this stuff out. I should have also mentioned: if you find yourself up against a BQ opponent that your tier 3 pet can't beat you can always battle it with your tier 5 pet so it can get the EXP. Even if you attempt it with your tier 3 pet first, you can still go back to the quest and try to win with the other pet as long as your time hasn't expired. A lot of people split their quests up so that their big pets take on the prodigy quests and their smaller pets battle the other guys.

I thought I'd also mention, the opponents are getting revamped, so it'll be more clear where they fall in regards to your pet. We're supposed to get a bunch more, so there won't be such a gap, and the Battle Quests are supposed to get revamped so it's not quite so random.

Thanks so much - all that info helps a lot! I didn't know you could split them up like that or re-battle if your time wasn't up, and I'm definitely looking forward to more intermediate opponents, because the 'easy' ones are a really poor return on the time.
