I hope this is an OK place to post this. XD If not, I'll ping a mod.

Alright, when I go to play my "The Sims" game (the original by the way, with the expansion packs) everything works fine.

Until it loads. I only have two options. 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768. My Laptop's optimal resolution is 1366 x 768. I am running Windows 7.

Basically, I have a super tiny square of a screen to play the game in. Is there any way to make it larger? I tried the whole -r WxL thing in the target section (right clicked on the icon, went to the shortcut tab, then target section), but that didn't work. Tried putting -f there as well, didn't work.

Tried to change my screen resolution to one of the above sizes. Made my screen super tiny. Tried Alt + Enter, did nothing.

Any computer gurus out there?

@WingBlade
There should be a place in the game to resize it, I would try there but I don't play Sims so I don't know where it would be located in there specifically. Maybe under options if there's anything period.

Plus, for your future reference, something like this would be best in the game section of the Entertainment forums. In fact, @Alewiina, would you move this to the appropriate place please? c:

@Yusuf

Thanks for that. I checked under options but couldn't find it. Thanks for asking for the move for me as well. :3

@wingblade
Moving to the games section.

As for the question itself, if its the original Sims game, I think those are your only options. However Sims 2 and Sims 3 have more options in the settings menu once you're in the game!

@Yusuf
Thanks =)

@WingBlade
I could have sworn that I had posted on here ._.

But, I was going to suggest changing the game to compatibility mode and seeing if that helped at all. To do this you right click the shortcut on your desktop/wherever it's at, and click properties. Then there should be a compatibility tab with a checkbox that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" with a list of older versions of windows. I would check the box and try maybe Windows 2000. I think this fixed my Rollercoaster Tycoon's tinyness, although it may have just been the crashing...anyhow, hope that helps. If not you may just have to deal with the small screen

@Rorschach

Thank you. :3 I tried it with Windows XP compatibility, but maybe I'll try that again sometime.

@Alewiina

Could you lock this please? Thanks!

@wingblade I can't actually lock this now its not in my forum.

Can you please make a ticket? Just click on this link (http://subeta.net/tickets.php?act=create), find the "Lock THread" option, and paste the URL into the link, asking someone to close it! One of the admins will then be able to lock it for you
