Anyone make, trade or just love these things? Do you have themes for your cards? How big if your collection? Where do you trade them? Have you ever had / been to a live trading?

So yeah, everything and anything you want to share about ATCs.

Well, if you sell or trade them they are also called ACEO's. When I worked at Michaels we had just started selling ATC paper packs in bristol board, water colour paper and a few other stiff papers for different mediums.

I've never been to a live trading, I signed up for one once and got the stomach flu that week. I was very disappointed. The cards I made I did in mixed media and they were geometric/abstract because it was my first time and I was sort of overwhelmed at the thought of trading my art. I had never seen other ACEOs so I was super hesitant to do anything "childish" (I am a cartoonist) and then see all of these other amazing works of itty bitty art. xD

Seing other people's ATC's online has made me feel more confident, that's for sure. Frankly, I'd like to do some ATC's on Rives BFK and either use linocut or stamping. I think super small prints would look great.

I'd really like to be able to start trading/collecting in the next year, I have a really need idea for a wall hanging involving ACEOs in frames, connected by ribbons.

@Glitter
I have yet to actually do any ACEO's. I'm no good at pricing my own work. I do most of my trading online and I've had one live trading that I organized with some of my friends. I'm a mixed media artist as well, especially in ATCs and as you know of my other thread Journals. Have you ever done Zentangles? Those are some of my favorite types of ATCs and Inchies that I make. I have done a linocut ATC, that was really fun and the other members in my swap came up with some great stuff. I'd love to see your idea for your ATC display. It would be interesting to have swap on here but I don't see very many people interested in it.

oh my gosh

maybe i am just really slow but i have never realized that this is what "aceo"s were? i always thought it was simply referring to very tiny sized art for no particular reason?

aaahhh i am really pleased to know that trading these kinds of things is actually a thing that happens and now i want to try drawing on that scale, since i've never seriously given that a shot. it would be nice to get back into traditional stuff, too, since i've been pretty predominantly doing digital work for the past few years.

are there any guidelines to making atcs other than the dimensions? (which i believe i have heard are 2x3", or am i mistaken?)

I've made a bunch of them, but so far no one's interested in buying them or trading with me.

I don't make them because I don't know where I'd share them, but I think it would be awesome to make some out of wire and thin sheets of sawed or engraved metal or wood. I bet there are some cool popup ATCs too.

@saofish
The only guidelines to ATC's is the size, which is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2". Any other limitations would occur depending on the swap group you join but if you're not in a swap group then the sky is the limit.

@t4pew0rm
Where are you trying to sell or trade them at?

@Dia
YaY! Be one of us, one of us!

There are lots of sites online that I could recommend, also if you can of course trade with friends or family. I love the whole idea of hosting a live trade with friends. Ever semester I can toying with the idea of holding a swap in my printmaking class but then yeah... never do it. And with the ideas you have for your cards I could see a lot of people being interested in trading with you.

I'm not sure as to what FA is but I know DA would be hard to get a good target audience with. If you link me your DA, so I can have a look and depending on if you're aiming more for trading or selling I would recommend atcsforall.com for trading and etsy.com for selling.

@Tea_Roll
FA is like the furry section of DA.
My DA is also the same as my username here

I have all my cards in one section.
Thanks for the site suggestions.
