Alright. This here text in the purple? This is my normal font, and if anybody’s read anything remotely close to a guide I’ve written in the past, they know I get a little wordy. So that’s why I’m adding this. I’m going to explain a few things, and if you are already a veteran of the Battle Coliseum, and know what’s going on, feel free to skip all this purple text and go straight down to the weapony goodness below. If you’re a newcomer to the wonderful world of battling, read on, my friend, read on.

Anywho, this is a Weapons Guide, currently being put together by the Incredible Gray (who did all the amazing graphics) and myself. I decided not to call it the ‘Recommended Weapons’ like the last one, because this revamp brought us things like weapon combos and scaling weapons, and it’s always nice to know what those are and what they do, even if they suck. So instead of a recommended weapons list, you now have a Weapons Guide, a guide to both good weapons and interesting weapons. Most of the weapons in here are either average or above average. If they’re great, we’ll sticky them with a Heart of Awesomeness (). If, by any chance, they suck more then usual, we’ll put a Broken Heart of Shame next to them ().

How to read this guide

It’s pretty simple, actually. We have the image, the name, and then the stats, and then anything else, like if it heals, freezes, has any curses or blessings, and how many mod slots it has. We also add if a weapon is once per battle (OPB) or Semi-breakable (doesn't break permanently, just for the rest of the battle). If there isn't a label, consider it infinite use.

*Note*; Unfortunately, semi-breakable doesn't have it's own label, they also say 'Infinite Use', so the only way to find out is to test it. We have tested a great majority of the weapons in this guide, especially the newer ones, but sadly there's way too many weapons for us to test them all. If you come across a weapon in this guide that's Semi-Breakable, but we don't have it labeled as such, it'd be awesome if you could let either Gray or I know about it.

Some weapons say Healer, Freezer, or Stealer. That means you can only equip one of each of those at a time in your set. We call that taking up your Healer/Freezer/Stealing slot. So, for example, you can’t equip a Red Rreign Staff of Lore and an Arid Chelon Gem at the same time, as they’re both labeled Healers. You can equip a Red Rreign Staff of Lore and, say, a Trident of the Banished One, because the Trident isn’t classified as a Healer, even though it heals. The same goes for weapons labeled as Stealers and Freezers.

Also, you’ll notice that some weapons list the same attack/defense number twice. That means there’s more of a likelyhood of that particular amount of icons happening. For example, the Diamond Mirror’s defense says None or All or All Physical. That means that there’s a 66% chance of it blocking all Physical, and 33% chance of it doing nothing. The Flame of Red Rreign Belt says 1 or 4 or 7 or 10 or 10 Ice, which means it’s has a 40% (2 out of 5) chance of blocking 10 Ice, and a 20% chance of blocking 1, 4, or 7 icons (1 in 5 chance).

Terminology:
OPB =Once per Battle
Breakable = Might get a few uses out of it before it breaks permanently (don't have many, if any, of those)
Semi-breakable = Might get a few uses out of it before it breaks for the rest of the battle, not permanently
One Use = Gone permanently after one use

I don’t get Tiers!

The tier your pet is in depends on the total of your pet’s stats, so all you need to do is add your stats up. Health, Strength, Defense, and Speed are the only stats that count towards your tier placement, Level and Intelligence don’t count. To raise your tier, train your stats. Here’s how it lays out:

(The Examples in parenthesis are only valid examples if you train your stats evenly. If you train one stat, and ignore others, it's going to fall a little differently.)

Tier 1: 40-299 Total Stats (so, around Levels 1-30 and 10-74 in each stat)
Tier 2: 300-599 Total Stats (around Levels 30-60 and 75-149 in each stat)
Tier 3: 600-1199 Total Stats (around Levels 60-120 and 150-299 in each stat)
Tier 4: 1200-1799 Total Stats (around Levels 120-180 and 300-449 in each stat)
Tier 5: 1800-2599 Total Stats (around Levels 180-260 and 450-649 in each stat)
Tier 6: 2600-3399 Total Stats (around Levels 260-340 and 650-849 in each stat)
Tier 7: 3400-4399 Total Stats (around Levels 340-440 and 850-1099 in each stat)
Tier 8: 4400-5399 Total Stats (around Levels 440-540 and 1100-1349 in each stat)
Tier 9: 5400-6399 Total Stats (around Levels 540-640 and 1350-1599 in each stat)
Tier 10: 6400-7999 Total Stats (around Levels 640-800 and 1600-1999 in each stat)
Tier 11: 8000-11999 Total Stats (around Levels 800-1200 and 2000-2999 in each stat)
Tier 12: 12000+ Total Stats (around Levels 1200 and up and 3000+ in each stat)

There is a stat cap of 22,000 stats total. Once again, only Strength, Defense, Speed and Health are counted. Level and Intelligence Points do not put you any closer to the cap.

What weapons do I chose?

Honestly, there’s no one perfect set. What may work for one opponent may be useless for another. For example, way back when, an opponent called Pylot was released. He blocked everything except Physical icons, thus everybody’s normal weapons were useless and items that did physical icons were hot. Another time, we had Nacho Muerte who did a ton of wind icons, so wind blockers were a must have. Some opponents can’t be frozen, some you can’t heal with, etc. The plan is to try and plan for everything. Have a variety!

That being said, here’s some tips on building your set. Healing is usually very important. Unless your opponent has healing disabled, you want your main weapon to have a good healing rate on it. Next, choose your second weapon according to your opponent. Try to choose a weapon that either does a lot of icons he doesn’t block, or blocks a lot of icons he dishes out. Many weapons heal without taking up a healing slot, those can really change the game and are highly sought after. Check out weapon combos in your tier, several of them do a lot of neat things, or the Scaling Weapons Guide, there are gems in there as well. As for the rest of your set, a weapon that freezes is nice, as it gives you a turn to either heal yourself or bomb the crap out of them (and when they’re frozen is when Bombs are most useful!). If your opponent dishes out a lot of damage, consider using a shield that blocks those icons. And never underestimate the strategy of stealing or blasting your opponents worst weapons!

Blagerfargle! I keep losing!

Yeah. That happens sometimes. Unfortunately, a lot of people just give up, when all they need is a little training and smarter battling. Most of the time, it’s a really easy solution, but people don’t take the time to find the answers.

A few tips to help you out.

Autotraining: This can be rather expensive, it costs 25 CSC’s, plus the sP cost of training, every day. But let me tell you, it’s more then worth it! Done faithfully, you could a Tier 2 or 3 pet in a month or two, and easily get a Tier 8 or 9 pet in less then a year. It’s highly recommended to hand train level at first, though, as at level 50, training time goes up. Autotraining only trains one stat at a time, it doesn’t automatically train them evenly across the board. It will also keep training even if the stat starts going past your level limit, which is nice. This can be done at the Training Center in Riverside.

Scrolls: These are a must for any battler. You can get some serious healing, defense, damage or freezing done with scrolls, and they have no tier! Yes, a Tier 1 pet can use a scroll that heals 500hp, as long as they have enough intelligence. A good way to get cheap books is to vend them from the Blue Sky vending machine in Veta. There’s a very good guide to scrolls here. I also listed recommended scrolls in Post 7.

Potions: They can give you a much needed boost when it comes to damage or defense, and some even heal or freeze! That can definitely make a difference in a close battle. Unfortunately, they’re one use items, so it can get a little spendy. There’s a guide for potions further down in Post 8 of the guide.

Weapon Mods: If your weapon has mod slots, use them! There are a ton of mods available, you can see what they are and what they do in our Modifying Crystal Guide. You can get the little extra damage you need, protect yourself from freezing or stealing, or defend a little more against certain icons.

I don’t see *insert weapon name here* in here!

This is by no means a complete guide to every weapon on the site. Just the interesting ones. If you know a weapon that you feel is interesting or above average, by all means, feel free to share it with us! If you just have a weapon you’re curious about, I would highly recommend SubetaLodge, as they have a list of every weapon and their stats. It’s awesome, I use it all the time.

Tier 1 - pets with 40-299 total stats





No matter how much you battle, a Phoenix Quill will save your pet's life when you're in a pinch. You can only use it once per battle (OPB), so choose wisely! Having a healer that you can use often will also help you, so equip PQ with something else that heals. If your opponent does 10 damage to you, but you heal 15, you won't take any damage that round.

I have NO idea how to classify the UltimaPlus Tag. It’s kind of a bomb that does a little of everything, but not all that well. It’s a fun weapon to play with, and a bomb that has healing, freezing, and stealing, but ultimately, it’s not reliable enough for the big, serious battles.

Lots of choices for healers this round. The Freezewand or Reborn Wand of Doom from the Millionaire shop is a good bet (and they can be combined next tier!) The Everheart Combo listed way below in the Combo section is most excellent as well, and the Gatekeeper Combo has a ton of scattered healing woven in, so definitely check those out. The Reviver of the Lion is a lot like the Phoenix Quill, and can be used for a quick, almost complete heal in the middle of battle.

The Forj Tempered items come with a chance of a blessing that can protect you from freezing, and the Ice Rose from the Millionaire has a nice curse and a chance to freeze. We’re starting to enter the realm of Full Blockers. The Forj Tempered Shield can be really nice against Wyrmgear, if not a little unreliable. The Mirroring Shield of Brilliance and Chancellors War Shield still haven’t unlocked their full power, but are now starting to get decent and have healing now. The Rainbow Vortex has now blossomed into it’s full glory, and is a must have for any serious battler set. The Flame of the Red Rreign items are pretty underwhelming, sadly.

The Everheart combo does decent healing and decent damage, even a bit of stealing action. Not to mention they’re pretty! The Azarthoth is fairly cheap, and has some decent side effects, like boosting and healing. (I think the Spiny Gauntlet gets the biggest boost of any comboed item yet!) Kismet combo does decent damage, and the Gate Keeper is nice for it’s freezing and wide variety of healing.

Get the Reborn Icewand of Doom, mod that sucker out with Parched or Singed Baguettes, and you’ll be golden. Seriously, that thing is probably the best you’re going to get until Tier 8 or 9, at least. The Super-Pie Magician is nice as well, as it doesn’t take up a healing slot. Also, be sure to check out the combo section, the Emo Glasses combo comes with decent healing, also without taking up a healing slot.

The Frozen Ocean Curl and the Dragon Soul are definitely two interesting weapons. While they don’t do the most damage, they have multiple attacks that can freeze, heal, or block tons of damage. Good weapons, yes. Reliable, not really. Malerias Clawed Glove is popular with people going for the Gourmet Achievement, as it can make you pets hungry.

The Emo Glasses combo adds some nice healing without taking up a slot or too much room. The Flame of the Red Rreign sadly got nerfed from it’s former glory. Still, a possible 80hp probably isn’t too bad. As for the Forj set, four weapons, all defense? Too much for too little, unless you have little else in your set and really want those boosts. As for the feather/grenade combos, they get decent attack and defense, with a chance to freeze, but they don’t get a huge boost from the combos.

Note on Healing: Healing with godly weapons seems to max out once you’ve hit 7500hp. You can definitely train above that, but the amount healed by your percentage healer won’t go up. So let’s say you have a 10% healer and 8000 health. It’s only going to heal 750hp, not the 800hp you would normally get at 10%. This seems to only affect weapons in Tier 10 and 11 so far.

The benefit of having a weapon that scales is that you can use it with many different tiered pets. Most of these are Cash Shop weapons that people bought pre-revamp because they were staples, so staff made it so that as many as possible could still use these post-revamp.

At lower tiers there are plenty of cheaper (and better) options, but as these scale up some become really useful when they reach their full potential. Don't throw them away - save them for later!

Alright, since I see this question asked a lot, I decided to add this. Yes, I know technically scrolls aren’t weapons, but lacking a better place to put this, here you go.

Second, I didn't add any images here because the guide is kinda laggy as it is, and scrolls all look alike anyways. There are no Tiers for scrolls, any pet can use any scrolls, as long as they have enough AP to handle them. Some are definitely better suited for certain tiers, though. I'll make a note in the sections paragraphs if there's special tidbits of interesting information.

Healing Scrolls:

Healing Scrolls should be a staple for any scroll set, and if you can only afford one scroll, make one of these your priority. The Champion or Telson Scroll is very good for pets with under 150hp (and decentish up to 250ish) and are really cheap to boot. Morosbane is extremely interesting in that it deals a lot and heals a lot (if you have under 3k hp). Unfortunately, it’s one use and takes up a bit of AP. If you don't have a ton of AP, get a unlimited use healer first. The most popular scroll is definitely the Terra Focujin, for it’s low AP cost and decent heal. Most of the 15 AP scrolls are boss loot drops, and extremely rare and expensive.

Defending Scrolls:

These scrolls are essential to fighting in the big leagues. The thing is, though, is that they’re usually Once Per Battle and you need a lot of them to really feel the effects. I wouldn’t really worry about them unless you have a lot of AP to burn and/or there is a plot boss you’re trying to beat. The freezing scrolls like Psycho Smasher and Shriek of Dispair can fuel a massive turn after turn freezing binge, as long as you have the AP and the opponent doesn’t have freeze protection. Sancturia Exodin and Cobalt Eternal are excellent blockers, and can block the majority of the opponents damage.

ONE USE ITEMS


"One Use" refer to items that disappear permanently after they are used in battle. As in, it's now gone forever and you'll have to buy a new one.

Most of the time you'll loose sP in the long run compared to buying a OPB or infinite use weapon. Why use them at all? Potions are handy if you need a few extra icons to kill an opponent for an achievement or during an event to get loot. You'll need to kill it before it goes away and you likely don't have time to train enough to make a difference.

It could also be worthwhile to use One Use weapons if you can get them cheap and never battle. Let's say you have 1324599 snowballs, rather than buying weapons for the next plot opponent you could use them. (I'd sell them during Luminaire and use the sP to buy better weapons, but hey, to each their own.)

Potions are much better than "bombs" because you can equip those and use them alongside your normal weapons.

By itself, it's not terribly special. And a Dual Legendary by itself isn't very impressive. But when you have a Dual Legendary along with the Sentinel, interesting things happen. The Dual Legendary gains extra stats, healing, a small perk, and Blessings and Curses are flung around like your pet was a drunken witch. Each Dual Legendary has it's own curse or blessing, and maybe another little perk. When used in battle, each Dual Legendary has a chance of activating their own curse/blessing, while the Sentinel will activate one or two out of the whole Legendary blessing/curse pool every turn it's used. Also, when paired with the Sentinel, Dual Legendaries get extra ‘perks’, depending on the element they use.

Now, it's time to Dual!

So, obviously, these are Dual Legendaries, also called Combined Legendaries. Named as such because you can take two of the basic Legendaries, and combine them into one, making a weapon that does the two elements of the parent weapons. There are 36 combinations possible. Notice that there are two sets of stats listed for each weapon because, as I mentioned above, they get a boost when the Sentinel is also in your weapon set.

Mod Slots and Modifier Crystals



What are mod slots?

Mod slots (or just slots) are like sockets in Diablo. You can place crystals there to make the weapon more customized. You might want more Water damage, or more defense against Fire.

Where do I mod my weapons?

Go to your armory. There's a link that says "Click here to modify your weapons."

Drag and drop Crystals where you want them. Click the button at the bottom of the page.

How do I remove/move crystals?

You can't – you can replace them, but once you do that the old one is lost. Removing a weapon from your armory will remove all mods to it. You will not get those back.

Where can I get crystals?

Parched and Singed are dropped randomly from the Forj opponent (you unlock Forj by using a Molten Summoning Tome) – all the others are available in the Battle Shop.

In the past you would get random crystals from opponents, but that was years ago... Now you get Battle Tokens that you use to purchase crystals or weapons.

Which crystals are better?

That depends on what you need. If you're after mods that you never have to replace you would go after these three: Critical Strike Tear Crystal, Parched Baguette Crystal and Blessing of Natural Armor Tear Crystal.

Do the bonus from the crystals stack?

Elemental damage/defense does. However, percentage bonuses (like stealing) and effects (curses/blessings) doesn't. Each crystal has an independent % chance of activating its bonus/effect each round. You could, if you're very lucky, have a crystal activate its bonus/effect every round. Realistically though, crystals like the stealing, healing and freezing ones are pretty worthless.

I would move the tiered weapons into the respective tiers, so that people can compare each tier with other weapons in that Tier. (So Trident of the Banished one would appear in each Tier with the proper stats in each section instead of having its own section.)

I would also put the Total icon range in parenthesis in the attack section and arrange the section with the highest minimum total icons at the top of each section.

Also, some of the weapons have 1 mod listed in the other section and others don't. Not sure if that was intentional?

Also, I think Purge and Cran are trying to make it so that any non god multihealer is considered a healer, and any OPB healer is not a healer. I know Mystical orb of the gods was fixed, not sure about others.

It's because I was a silly goose and didn't write all the mod slots down in my last guide. We're just recoding the guide I had up in my other thread, and then we'll start fine tuning it. So we'll catch up on all the missing mod slots, blessings, and whatnots. We're also going to see if we can work the item code in so it'll show the hover, instead of just the image. This is by no means the final version.

Ya I was just giving suggestions for the formatting to tweak.

Its very well laid out and helpful as is though.

I think over time you might be able to pull some of the junkier items too.

Hydrus Clamshell (Pearl Included) heals 30HP multiheal in Tier 3 and blocks 4 light and 4 water.

Ya I can probably get you them all, (although you can also find most of the stats just using the API links)

You just find the item ID and then use this link:

It won't find any custom coding though. I used to have a bunch of the exact percentages for the blessing activations from when the BC broke and we could see all of the coding.

Not sure how publicly known they were lol. someone gave it to me to let me see the sandreaver stats before any were made.

the best way to find item ids is through the account search page. The Item ID will be in the results link.

Still want me to go through and post the stats, or want to pull them from the API yourself?

I can try to fill in any blessings/curses once you pull the stats from the API.

its alright! but I can give you a suggestion on some affordable stealers, only because I really am having annoyances with the
Massaquerade
even with mod stones this weapon doesnt do well stealing or protecting. HOWEVER, as for stealers I like these two the
Joker Staff
its tier 3, takes stealer spot and has a moderate chance to steal OPB, as well as damage: 0-4 water, 0-4 dark matter, 0-4 ice. The other stealer I like is the
Kismets Cosmic Wand of Annihilation
its tier 4, 100% stealing OPB, damage: 4-5 ice, 1-2 magma, 3-4 earth. Hope this helps...

Also, whenever you see something like "water=*" in the api, it means it full blocks said icon (here, water)
The old api was much more pleasant to read, now it's almost a pain for the eyes

Ohh I'm sorry, that water=* was a general statement, I'm thinking you're gonna run into a lot of weapons using that link in the future, so I thought I'd tell you what it means. It does sound like I was talking about the link though. Oops.

And yes, that weapon can either do 2, 51, 51 or 100 icons. It's probably a bomb though

I'm rampaging through my armory. I know, you said you would only include worth while weapons, but I guess they are:

Prodigy Staff either goes under scaling weapons (though not exactly by tier) or labelled healer tier8, 7-10%.

what I figured out on tier 12 (got slightly tweaked) light x8-10, dark x6-10, water x20, def fire x6,8,10 all.
Quarkyness (Curse) fire x2, dark x5, light x5, water x3 10 rounds(?)
3 mod slots

Tier 9 Healer, now unfortunately also classified as a healer is Gelatine Concoction
fire and magma 15, 18 or 20, def 8 light, heal 10% 3 mod slots

Tier7 now classified Healer 5% Benevolent Grenade fire, light, water x12 (also increased to before)
Combo with Defensive Bandana (tier6): fire, light, water x12 -15 10% heal
