What is this number beside my Pets?
For example Clara. has the Number 85,826.
Also confused about this: You are using 17 of your 12 pet slots.

Edit:
Ah, now a Pop Up shows up. It is the Rang of the Pet.
Didn't show up at first. So this question is answered. Only the Pet Slots are a bit confusing

The 17 of 12 means that you may have used a totem, a plushie or a GA to gain those extra slots (or a combination of the three). If you go to your site preferences there should be a break down of how you have the slots.

When you have a gold account you are allotted 5 extra pets slots. You probably did all your adopting/creating with a gold account activated. Now that it has expired, those 5 slots are taken away from your total, but it doesn't affect the pets you already own. If you were to abandon a pet, that slot would not be available for a different pet until you activated another gold account.
