I wanted to dye my hair after about 5 years of not touching it, I started to get tired of the same thing.
Did a bit of research online and henna seemed the best option to me, as it is strengthening and I mostly wanted to get tint on the blonde in my hair. [People think the strands of blonde in my hair are a cute touch, I DON'T >: (]

I got the lush caca brun henna, god it was Loving messy, but it turned out sooo beautiful. My hair is visibly stronger, shinier, and the colors are very vibrant. I'm sorry I don't have pictures!
Also, apparently its safe to dye over, so I look forwad to henna-ing my hair a few times to get it nice and shiny and strong then dying it two-toned.

Anyone ever henna? Know someone who does?

I've had henna tattoos before, and I've known people who have died their hair with henna. It's easy to get at any local Indian market. :3

@PURRr

I've used henna as hair treatments before, as I have black hair that doesn't really take colour without bleaching. I liked how it made my hair shinier but it's too time consuming and sloppy for me to do it often. I prefer macadamia styling oil to get that effect now.

It makes your hair stronger? I've never heard that. I like to dye my hair auburn every once in a while and I was thinking about henna as a more natural option. Is it permanent though? I usually use the Clairol Herbal Essences Natural dye that comes out in 28 shampoos. I don't want anything permanent because I change my mind far too often and I don't really want to deal with the upkeep.

I used henna on my hair all through high school...just didn't feel like messing with my hair with caustic chemicals. My mom and I would mix pumpkin pie spices into it: nutmeg and the like, so it didn't smell quite so bad. We got stuff from the local health food market, and I don't think they sell ANYTHING that doesn't smell bad. Since that was the only place I got henna, I have no idea if the smell was normal!

Loved the color my hair got with the henna, and loved how it helped strengthen hair and make it more healthy in general. If it wasn't so messy and time consuming, I would probably still be using that instead of chemical dyes.

I've never heard of this. How expensive was it? Did it smell bad? Etc. Etc.
I might try to look into this.

I only know of Lush's henna hair dye :/ I hear such great reviews for it, but I wish that they had other colors. Whacky colors would be nice, haha. I'll let you know if I find any someplace else.

Please ping if you reply!

My mom does it and, I agree, it turns out amazing. The messiness is definitely worth it since it not only makes your hair color awesome, it also keeps your hair healthy and natural.

I first experience henna dying in Orleans, while I was on Erasmus, and I like dying my hair in golden blonde and copper, since my natural colour is copper/golden blond.
