i wanted to try and make it to the meet-up in washington state but life was just too busy. but i'm coming to the vancouver one! thrilled to have it be here in canada! i live on the island so i'm going to make a day of it

@ - yes your instructions are good... i usually buy a day pass on the ferry for transit when i come over - it's only $10 - it's too expensive to bring a car across and vancouver transit is fabulous!!

@ beware of skunks and coyotes would be more appropriate. Still looking forward to this meetup in Vancouver and hope that the weather is nice.

@ yeah that would most likely be accurate and beware of the two legged animals that roam the streets as well. I am not joking about that but during the day the park is safe.

@ indeed. I also don't like the skytrain stations that are outdoors at night either as you get creepy people then.

Yep. Certain parts of Vancouver are pretty sketchy at night, but during the day you should be fine. c;

@ sometimes i have no choice as I live in WR and was invited to dinner in NV and last night seemed to be full of creeps everywhere. I just made it look like i was in a rush to get somewhere so they didn't bother me. During the day i am fine with downtown Vancouver as i know where things are then

On holidays until the 15th... in Alberta.
How does it work where I live about 20 minutes from the meet up place but I will be like a 17 hour drive away.
/grumble.

Hey all, I don't want to put a damper on the party, but I just want to remind everyone attending to please avoid wandering the park alone while you're here. Stanley park is 404.9 hectares and most of this is natural old growth forest, please remember to stay on the trails and in a group/pair while you're there

Thanks for the tip, @Tricksparrow! I've never been there - the meetup location is based off @Lavabeast's suggestion, though it's always a likely possibility that she's trying to get me killed >___>

I really really want to go, but I may have to work because I took the 12th off. UGH and I'm going to be right there on the 12th at 6pm WHY COULD IT OF NOT BEEN ON THE 12TH.. Well hopefully it works out somehow..

I hate driving into the city woman! And to do it twice in one weekend is torture!
Plus if I work on Saturday I'd have to give my shift away, and therefore lose the cash dollas. AND NOT BE ABLE TO DO AWESOME THINGS WHEN I COME AND SEE YOU!

It is awesome that you are coming to Canada... but I wish it wasn't so far away (I'm in Ontario). Lot's of fun to those who can make it!

I do hope you folks can come out to Ottawa someday... it's our country's Capital City!!! You could even visit the parliament buildings while you're here... that would be so cool... Subeta on the lawn of Parliament Hill

if anyone needs a ride I have space in my car if people are willing to split any potential parking costs

hagane and I do in fact have a sign we bring with to meet-ups, haha! It's full of Subeta pets so it should be relatively easy to spot xD We might color coordinate too xD

You can if you want! We never really plan anything like that because there's no guarantee we'll be sitting in that same spot, so something like a picnic will be hard to move. You're more than welcome to bring whatever you'd like, however.

One important thing to keep in mind is food allergies - PLEASE make sure you remember all the ingredients you use. I know at least one person going to the meetup has very severe food allergies and we don't want anything to happen to the people going.

@ i will remember that as i happen to have an allergy to nuts and the smell of peanut butter. I was going to bring more than one type because of that. If i smell peanutbutter i turn green and sickness follows quickly afterwards. I'm no strange to food allergies and know which ingredients i use in my cookies quite well although if i know what allergies i am looking at that might help. I know being lactose intolerant might be another common one.

Considering people can be allergic to just about ANYTHING, going over a list of potential allergies isn't going to really work. Just bring a list of whatever potential things ended up in the cookies.

@, I will but guess that means i'm bringing my laptop with me since my handwriting is illegible even to me so i'll have it typed since our printers are kind of broken. Thanks for the tip about the list of ingredients in the cookies.

I... don't think you need to be quite that literal with a list. I just think something like "These have eggs and milk in them so be careful!" is all you need to say.
