I really just want to thank everyone for their help and kindness. It was so unexpected and I think I have made some nice buddies. I'm so pleased and happy right now. Im going to go ahead and get this locked now, but if you come across this and want to chat please feel free to do so. It's really pleasant. Thank you <3

I love subeta to bits, don't get me wrong.
But I am so lonely on here.
I'm lonely in real life too, I'm kind of having a hard time right now.

I have friends in my friend list, but after a while they just stopped talking with me. I have tried to speak with others but it just goes no where.

I said I was going to leave before, and some people said "no don't leave, I'll be your friend!" After a couple weeks they removed me from their friend list just randomly. It was insulting actually .__.

I'm reluctant to leave because I have put money into subeta, adopted pets from others and have ideas about my pets, but with no one to talk to about it, well, its a bit redundant.

Before anyone asks, I have made posts before about my pets, about anything and everything and it just gets ignored. Maybe two or three people will comment but then it.... dead.

I have tried to make CW's before, but I keep trying and something is wrong so I get disheartened and don't want to continue. I know as an artist I mustn't let things get to me, and I never take any critique as an insult, I know they are only trying to help. But I dunno, I just cant get that subeta style right.

I think back to my noob days on Deviantart and Neopets (both of which I have since left) and think about my stupid scribbles, they where more popular than my stuff now .__.

I dunno.. If I do leave I think I will sell my items and use the sp to change into CSC and get some art of my characters out of it. I have spent a lot of my real life money on subeta over the 3 years I have been a member. Is that allowed?

If you want easy friends, go find a newbie and help them out. They'll probably be lonely when they sign up and will be needing someone to help them.

But honestly, I don't understand why people make these kind of threads. If you want to leave, leave. Things are getting a bit redundant? Leave. You can always come back in a month or two

I think that a lot of people do not realize that friendship is a two-way street: it takes both people to make it work. Just like you want them to interact with you, they also expect and deserve to be interacted with.

I am sorry that you feel neglected and lonely, but I am not sure that this type of topic is going to yield the attention that you are looking for. Keep trying, and best of luck whatever you decide to do.

I have tried to help a newbie. I have tried to help lots of them but I'm normally not quick enough and I'm not going to stalk for a newbie to join, its a little creepy lol.
And I mean leave permanently.
Also, maybe someone on here actually cares about me (haha I know) who I don't know of. Its just a heads up that I might be selling my stuff cheap and quick. If someone might want one of my pets?

I feel like this to..its hard to make friends

Im trying to be active again but i have no one to talk to and nothing to do

Alot of the topics are slow and its hard to get anything becauce of prices and stuff

Oh I know what you mean, I'm absolutely terrible at making friends. I have many friends on my friends list, but I rarely actually talk with any of them. :c
Oh course, I could fix it by leaving them a comment, but whenever I do, we exchange maybe 2-3 comments and then the conversation dies out. I guess I'm just really bad at chit-chat?

I never talk to anyone about my pets/goals/anything either, the only thing really keeping me here is the site events and my goal of becoming the richest user. :'D

@Sandshrew Heh, no worries on missing my post originally. I agree that things don't always work out, but that's a sad fact of life that I have discovered in the past few years. Friendships fade and people grow apart, so don't take it too personally. Just keep your head held high and putting yourself out there. I know that the forums have been somewhat slower lately, but just continue to engage with people.

And re: the friend list removal: I actually remove people from my friend list if I haven't spoken to them in ages. I don't see a reason to have people on there that I no longer speak with at all. *shrugs*

True but a lot of people are unintentionally selfish. Things are either their way, or the highway and there's little room for bending, on their parts.

I know exactly how you're feeling and believe me, you're not alone.
Heh, it's funny. Nearly everywhere I go online, someone, somewhere is feeling the same yet none of us are talking to each other/seeking others out. :<

But getting back to your current problem...
I find myself going through bouts of activity. For a long time, I don't do much of anything but then there will be one, maybe two weeks of activity (more if there's an event) and then I disappear again. I've plugged money into this site too so I can understand how that will hold ya back a bit but nothing you do online should feel like a chore. If it's starting to wear ya down, maybe it's best you give it up for a while.

But as you said you're thinking of quitting permanently.
I'd say you're not ready to make that kind of decision, just based off the uncertainty you've expressed throughout your OP. (No offense.)
My recommendation? Take a break, find some other game to play and if that becomes more important than subeta, so be it. At least your account and things will be here if you ever decide to return.

And if I could give you some advice on your art/CW's... The best thing you can do is be stubborn about it. Don't allow rejection, no matter how bad, stop you from pursuing something. I know it's wayyy easier said than done but you really need to grow a thick skin and the only way to do that, is through the sting of rejection. Take it from someone who's been avoiding it for a good chunk of her life. Avoidance only causes weakness, and an inability to move forward as the years go by.

@NoirRaven I agree, and while it used to bother me when I was younger it doesn't any longer. I don't have time for people that just take and never give in the friendship, and just chalk it up to their loss and move on. I understand it isn't that easy, though - and like I said it took me awhile to get to that point.

@ The site for the past few weeks, as Keith joked in the ask keith last night, has just been pet spotlights. Topics have been really slow, I agree
@Mechanic Chit chat, thats what I fail at in real life too ahahaa. I know what you mean, exchanging a couple of lines and then nada. Even if its not subeta related, its hard to find someone who has similar interests to you.
@ I understand what you mean about removing people who are no longer inactive, but these people removed me after two weeks and I was chatting with them then they suddenly stopped. It was really odd.

I think I would try another website, but I dunno what else to try. Iv tried Neo and Gaia and I cant get back into those (subeta is far better anyways) and I cant ask subeta uses for suggestions on which websites to try. I have also tried Neuro Galaxy and again cant get into that. I like what you said at the end of your post though, "Avoidance only causes weakness, and an inability to move forward as the years go by." I guess I have been doing that a lot in real life and on here, not just with art either. I guess I'll just take a break from subeta, not much is happening right now and I dont think much is set to happen anytime soon either.

My other friends I rarely talk to because I'm really just so awkward with people who I'm not super close to.

Yeah, I know what you mean. And even when I find someone with similar interests, I find it very hard to start conversations. Like take the K-POP forum here. I love K-POP, but I'm seriously afraid of joining the conversation there for some idiotic reason I don't know, so I always go see what's up but I've never posted there. :/

@Mechanic I once made a post about a pet I didn't like on here and gosh I had so much hate. It wasn't in insulting post, but I was called a troll. I guess I just didn't explain myself very clearly, it seems to happen a lot with me, but it really put me off the forums for ages. Once you start posting you might find it easier to start conversations? I have had rants and rants on here but I tend to lose my posts among others. Is that what is putting you off too?

Yeah its not the same Subeta i remember from before i was inactive
I miss how it used to be when things moved fast and everyone was friendly and something was always happening
Everything was also much easier to get ..

Pet spotlight it seems its impossible to even get your pets noticed..for me anyway
If your not active then your pets wont ever get nomiated

Yup. The sP sprint forum is a good example too. The people there are super friendly and kind. Still, I rarely post because whenever I do, my posts just sort of get... ignored? I guess either they're all already friends with each other or I'm just not a very interesting person. :c

I had a pet nominated before you could turn nominations off and I had no idea why, she didnt even have a story. So I quickly got a story together and such. Then they canceled all nominations. I decided to let her get renominated but she was declined so I dont have any ready for pet spotlight. I have no idea why she was declined, when I asked for help on the forums they weren't much help. I have no idea to this day why or how she was nominated the first time.

Well, your here now and I wont ignore you ^.^ This is a good step forward. I tend to see the same user names pop up. When I go to common on a post I try to look for user names I haven't seen before or low numbered posts.

When I saw this topic, I was going to get ALL UP IN YO PROFILE'S FACE and see if we had any mutual interests. I can't see anything listed on your profile. That should be remedied. XD (not like I'm not guilty of that too rolfmao)
Anyways, I kind of understand what you're going through - I've been on subeta for years, and the main reason I've been on here I'd say was for my friends... A lot of my friends since have just... left though, for a variety of reasons, though.
I've been able to get some of them onto Skype which is really nice, so I just talk to them while I'm running around on subeta or whatever, but idk it only does so much (in regards to the site, not skype or anything... if that makes sense? |D)

Anyways, I'm not really able to give you any points/tips or whatever other than what's been stated, ahaha. x;

Have you tried joining a cult? There are many cults on Subeta that have really close knit member communities and a lot of people find it easier to make long lasting friends. I'm pretty busy irl so I don't really talk much on the forums. I have a few close friends that I'll talk to over months and one forum group where I will be talkative on occasion, but that's just fine with me.

I decided to try something a bit closer to my own interests so I joined a pokemon one but its really inactive. I shall have to try and find a more active cult I think.

To be honest, most of my friends online have come from off-site and have joined me here. There's only a handful of people I've met on Subeta and even then, I mostly tend to interact with them on other sites.

Now that I think about it, I met a lot of my friends through roleplaying/RP. That section of the site seems to be pretty active, so if you like creating stories or characters, I think that's a great way to collaborate and interact with groups of people. On top of that, RPs typically have topics (such as "Pokemon" or "Subeta Pet") so you can pick and choose what you want. If you're not so into that though, I'd encourage you to look in the "Entertainment" section of the forums. People like to chat in there about various TV shows, video games, and what-not, so it's really easy to stumble into the conversation and chat with fellow fans.

From what I'm looking at right now, I can see how it'd get a bit confusing. It seems the titles are broken into two parts, one which acts like a catchy tagline and one that states the topic to be RPed. For most of the ones in that forum, it appears that the topic of the RP is written outside of the brackets.

If you don't see anything you like, there's an [OOC] RP Planning section of the forum for you to request RPers!

To be honest, because of my constant hiatuses, the friends I have hardly speak to me as well. I'm on subeta now mostly for the avatar system-- I like having something to dress up when I feel like it.
I waste all of my time on tumblr now. But it wouldn't hurt to get to know you, right? ... ehehehehe.. ;; /awkward

I would check the cult forum for a social club that advocates being active. I'm not sure if you're 18 or older, but you could give kindred spirits a try. I had a friend who was in that cult and he said they were really active. He was the one that just didn't talk on the forums much, lol.

User not found (1): verdugo's suggestion about joining a nice (cough non-dogy) cult is a good idea, the cult people seem to enjoy themselves the most here, at least from my perspective.

but anyway, it's kind of hard for me to keep track of IRL friends and subeta friends when my own life is doing some crazy-ass rollercoaster. Sometimes I'll let my Subeta associates know I'm hiatus-ing, other times I just slip away and they don't really notice either way.

I feel this way too. I think my lack of interest in dressing my HA, aside from the penguin, makes it hard to relate and make conversation. I feel like my conversations fizzle out with my friends when I start them so I've sort of stopped.. I've tried my hand at attempting CW's too but oh god it looks like old site art. One day I will have a mini fancy penguin wearable!! One day!
It makes me feel uninteresting when I wake up to no pings or notifications for a week. You're definitely not alone in this. I'm trying to put myself out there more and tell more stories about my experiences in the chit-chat forum. Maybe one thing I say will catch someone and go from there!

I've almost crept past without posting but that's kinda what is wrong with me and why I have so little active friends now. Read: one. And that one is a stalkee. (poor them)
I'm scared to join cults. I'm afraid I will remain an outsider and how they all know each other beforehand intimidates me, I'm always the loner hanging on the edge of a group anyway and basically don't think I'm particularly cool or interesting or stuff so I don't wonder why.
Try...coming up with some social initiative? I voluntereed to help moderate Fanpets thread and...okay, no lies, it didn't do anything to my 'popularity'. But at least I feel sort of useful and good for something. =_=
Anyway, if you ever have a longer conversation with someone it's nice to keep tabs on them (difficult for me, I keep forgetting usernames) and at least throw a hi their way/ask what's up from time to time if you see them on forums. Maybe they asked a question in the help forum and you know the answer or something.

I've honestly thought of making some kind of 'my post is the only one on the whole page that gets overlooked/ignored' club, I've presumed it'll be one person exclusive but you are free to bring sandwiches and maybe we can sort of hang around together ignoring each other in a socially awkward loner way. D=
And Chen... right. That idiot's guide is totally still in the works but I had stuff coming up etc. Not giving up on it yet anyway!

It really is really hard because you dont want to seem like the newbie or tag along. You want to be an equal valued buddy.

I once wanted to be a moderator, but I live in the UK and cant really be one. Other wise I would have done. Its nice to know your helping out c: I tend to forget some user names if it involves numbers. But some user names I remember easy, like the pokemon user names, or ones that make me giggle. I tend to go based on HAs a lot, so I try to keep mine constant or rotate certain ones.
Can I join your club? This is the most popular my posts have ever been. I feel loved <3
