Zapper Skins - AUGUST 2012

I am too busy with classes to update with the new Morostide Zaps, so if anyone wants to start a new board for those new skins go ahead!

We have the same categories as last year. I've placed the new skins into those same categories under the spoiler tags below. All the skins are confirmed now to be in the correct categories!
You can zap again after 3 hours.

All information about last years zaps, which you can still get, and cures can be found in the second post! Thank you , you are a lifesaver. And thank you for compiling last years info in the first place!

IF you are interested in seeing what the gold and copper-like skins look like with faces, User not found (1): hoar has created a couple previews for you.

Also, if you are not a zombie and can take a picture of either the nebula or nightmare zap (we got skin flaps) please let me know. :)

last year's information thread was originally created by Potter, moved here for convenience. answers any basic questions one might have about the zapper.

edited to have old information for new users. easier to have it all in one place.

To zap your HA, go see Euclid at the Zapper v2. For 50 wizard tokens, you can zap your HA once every 3 hours. If you don't want to wait, buy a Zapper Version 2 Liability Waiver available from the Cash Shop for a limited time--according to Keith, it is "single use and works for all ZapperV2 functions".

I will get rid of the Zapper v2 wait time... once!

If you don't like the skin you have, you can zap yourself again into a different one, or you can cure yourself by making the corresponding cure at the Asmodeus Genetech Lab. If you are zapped, Asmodeus will give you an Asmoedus Concoction Base to make a cure with.

I'm a zombie! Will zapping cure me?

Nope! This zapper v2 skin will go on top of your zombie skin as your HA base. You will still be able to access Skitter's Den. (There was a glitch in the very beginning where zapped zombies weren't being recognized as zombies, but that's fixed now.)

How long do the skins last for?

They are permanent until you cure or zap into a different skin.

When I try to use the zapper, I get an error message saying, "You can't purchase that!"

You need to go to the Wizard Exchange to turn in the wizard tokens in your inventory into your Currency Storage. Euclid will take the tokens from your Currency Storage directly.

I got an alert saying that I can use the Zapper v2 again, but when I try to use the Zapper, it says, "The zapper isn't fully charged yet!"

That's because the human zapper takes about an hour longer than the pet zapper, but the alert timing is still set to the pet-zapper time. If you go back to the Zapper v2, right above the red box it will say something like, "Please dont come back for another 57 minutes 57 seconds!"

The ingredients for my cure are so expensive!

Just keep zapping yourself into something with a cheaper cure!

I zapped myself again but my skin didn't changed?

Try waiting a few minutes for the cache to update with your new skin. And if your skin still doesn't change, it means you just got zapped with the same skin again, which can happen since there are only 14 different skins so there is a good chance of getting the same one again.

Is the human zapper going to be available after Morostide?

I'm not 100% sure, but I doubt it.

Does anyone know what happens if you zap yourself and you are infected with a zombie virus? I do not want to lose my current virus which would keep me from purchasing things from Skitters.

I'm glad they added more, and I hope that every single one of the old ones are there. And I REALLY hope this is permanent! I want to be able to access my bark skin whenever I want.

The old cures can be found here. I'm guessing the new ones are "mystery," but they might be in a category all their own.

@, @ Thank you. If you don't cure the zapper skin, then do you keep that look until you do? And, while you are wearing the zapped skin, are you still able to visit Skitter's shop?

yes and yes. it doesn't expire, you can only get rid of it by curing or zapping to another skin, and you're still a zombie underneath so you can still go to skitters :)

There is also the nightmare skin (probably curable by Color Reversal Concoction) that User not found (1): written has.

I especially like the first one and the mecha one that makes me think of Portal
I kept my skin from last year up until now, but I think I'm going to have to start zapping again!

I'm also curious as to if this is year long thing, going to go back to just happening during morostride but is here for the event orrrr...
