this is very very important, even if it is only a signal boost

you might have heard about this person already. her name is sophie m herold, and aside from posting homophobic rants and hate speech on her blog(s), she also finds the addresses, phone numbers, whatever she can get, of "closeted"gay/lesbian/trans*/etc. people and outs them to whoever she can find, and has even sent letters to their families who she knows are not accepting.

most recently, she has promised to send addresses of "every lgbt couple [she knows]" to the organization mentioned here.

if you google her you can find more information, including a few tags on tumblr detailing some of her actions.

if you ever encounter this woman, DO NOT GIVE HER ANY INFORMATION. not your name, not your location, NOTHING. refrain from speaking to her at all. she is a vile human being who will stop at nothing to ruin millions of lives all over the world.

That's disgusting. What the hell is wrong with her? Was she not loved as a child or something? I think if I ever met her, I'd have a hard time not punching her in the face. Some people need to learn to get their heads out of their asses before they speak, else their mouths fill with crap.

I have heard a lot about her before I don't really think it's possible to 'protect' yourself against her. I mean it's not like she's going to introduce herself as "hi my name is sophie m. herold" unless she's an idiot

I'm having a hard time figuring out how she's much different from any other dumb teenager being an butthead on the internet. I mean, how is she getting people's information? How many people has she actually affected, or is she really just another dumb teenager being an butthead on the internet? I mean, it's still really NOT OK to out three people against their will, but I don't think it's enough to warrant arrest.

maybe reread my first post? she not only gets people's information, but she OUTS THEM to people she knows to be unaccepting of gays, which could possibly ENDANGER THEIR LIVES. she goes out of her way to do this as much as possible with no care in the world because she thinks she's helping them.

this sounds pretentious but as someone who is transgendered (but also as someone who's just a decent being), it really means something to me that people are willing to do something about her. afaik the tumblr staff are on lookout for any future accounts she makes as well, which is super cool of them

unfortunately her presence just reminds everyone how important it is to keep your info locked up. most people, myself included, feel comfortable disclosing our residency and other personal info to the internet public after a few years online, but then things like these happen and you have to wonder how easily it could have been you. and even then, it's almost impossible to remain completely anonymous online, no matter what steps you take.

Ah, I think it was just a few posts I was seeing about her where people were crying for arrest.
But the whole "outing people to dangerous individuals"...can you link me to widespread evidence of this? Is she just claiming to do this or are there real testimonials against her? And if so, how many, and where can I find them? I mean, for all I'm picking up here, it could just be a load of bragging about nothing. All I'm getting here is hearsay, I can't even find a post she's made that hasn't been screenshotted off of tumblr and passed around to a ton of others.

Ah, thanks for the posts, that clears things up.
I'm still not entirely sure what can be done about her aside from have those sites continue to delete her accounts, and of course, not give her your address. Because honestly you shouldn't be giving anyone on the internet your address. Even if you want to meet them in person, do so in a public place where people are around and blah di blah blah.

unfortunately there are several ways to get someone's address besides them giving it to you

i know it's hard to be completely careful online, especially since people give out their name/age/location all the time without thinking about it...it just sucks HARD that people like that even exist, in the end. people who will go to those lengths.
