I had a very spoiled & pampered battle pet based off someone very dear to my heart who, as it turned out, didn't deserve the honor. It was hard looking at it for a while because the pet and species combo I'd selected even looked a lot like him.

Well, I decided to make a change. At @ 's recommendation, I squished him:

TAKE THAT.

I still had to look at his name in the training events (I was stupid enough to use his real name) and the name I selected as a replacement wasn't quite available yet. I needed something to use in the meantime.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that Douche was up for grabs! Score! I checked to make sure it would be alright for me to use it, and proceeded to snatch that right up.

I think it's a much more fitting name for him, and I feel a lot better now.

I still hope to change his name one last time when my preferred name is ready, but in the meantime, this will do quite nicely!

(Sure, it's only pixels, but it's oddly liberating and cheaper than therapy.)

This is why I'll never make a pet based off of someone I know in real life. I'd hate to well... end up hating them in the end. (And looking at Douche's profile, 12 years is a long time to know somebody. :c)

Congrats on the name and species change! It's good you found a way to amuse yourself while you wait for the name you want! xD

@ Thank you! I threw the pet out on his loser ass after the truth was brought to my attention and this is just one more little step towards my recovery and new-found independence.

In high school, I made the mistake of playing through Pokemon and naming my team after my friends... boyfriend included. We broke up, and not particularly cleanly. In any case, I went back into that Pokemon game a few years after the break-up to transfer some Pokemon off of it, and I found my old team! Apparently, as revenge for breaking up with me, I renamed my boyfriend-tribute Pokemon to -- wait for it -- "Butts". Yep. Hell hath no fury.

Your squishing > Pokemon name changing. By far.

Part of me kind of wishes I had a virtual pet to take out my anger on, now, haha. I wonder if the name Cheater is available and I can admittedly copy you and squish him. Or find the closest available pet that looks like a slimeball...

Oh man... just +5 for this entire board. I mean ugh-- even from a vague viewpoint that just sounds like one hell of a terrible situation. Thank you to everyone for all the well-wishes. The level of asshattery involved in the situation is so bad that I don't even think Jerry Springer would've touched the story with a ten-foot pole. It's just ... oh boy. Bad. Bad bad bad. Like "you can't make this crap up" levels of terribleness. And @ -- yeah, he's why. :-/ That was before I even knew about what was going on. Just UGH. UGH is all I can say. I want the last 3 years of my life back.

BUT YAY PET THERAPY. Seriously, just doing these two little things has brought me some peace again. I can't burn his stuff (yet) but at least I could do this!

I haven't decided yet on the treasure chest. I could invest on doing something sassy with this (anyone have any ideas?) or wait to see if I can snag the name that I want when it clears and then go hogwild on the treasure chest.

Not that I'm particularly encouraging death/bodily harm, but there are seriously some people in the world that you want to strangle. And this is one of those situations where the person has made you feel like the lowest of low. If making a WONDERFUL PET HONORING HIM (cough, yeah, HONORING, all right) works, then it does.

ALSO.

because HE WILL BE THAT, hopefully sooner than later before he spreads his jerkwaddery around.

and all color variations because HE IS A MONSTER in the worst way-- in the heart. F' him, I say.

@ There's really no such thing as too insane in all this, at this point. xD The real Douche faked a mental illness to cover up an addiction and a secret double life, and that's not even the worst of it. Take your best shot. xD

@tche The worst part is that I can't even get angry yet. It's just all pain. I'm looking forward to the anger part, to be honest, because the grief part is really sucking.
