In the past few days I've been seeing loveing huge spiders crawling around. I'm absolutely terrified of them, I barely managed to reach my phone to call someone downstairs. Two were in my bed next to me, and now one just ran out and into the other room. I slept downstairs last night because of the spiders in my bed and now there's one down here too. Tiny little spiders aren't so bad (noticed an increase in those suddenly), something that sprints across my bed/floor and is larger than a damn mouse is horrifying.

I'm just gonna live a few miles away now. Or countries. ;_;
Anyone else having spider/insect problems lately?

@ ugh we always get a huge hoarde of them moving in around this time of year :c Big nasty brown ones. I've never had one in my bed but I've seen them scuttling across the floor, resting above doors, on door frames, hanging out on the walls... blahh. My dog gets them but she seems to like letting them get away so she can play with them -.-"
I'll be glad when winter hits and it gets too cold for them :c

i think a nest hatched near my house as well. they're everywhere. i don't know what you consider to be huge but when i see spiders theyre rarely bigger than 3cm at most, but love them all. i killed an especilly big one a few days ago above my bed and couldnt find the corpse. im not sure where it went but i hope not anywhere near me.

whenever i exit the house i go through my front yard, which ends up in a gateway through a hedge. the entire yard is stuffed with spiders and webs. we have a special stick to remove the spiders before moving through.

My cat is doing absolutely nothing. If there's a mouse somewhere, we can pick her up and use her to track it and stick it elsewhere, but if there's no feathers or fur on it NOPE TOO BUSY SLEEPING. Really hope the winter gets rid of these things. :c

I couldn't survive there. If only I was one of those people who loved them, I'd be so happy to find spiders all over the place. We live near a farm and several fields so we're probably getting them all from there, only thing separating us is a dying hedgerow.

*shudders* Hate spiders. Hate them, hate them. I can totally sympathize with sleeping anywhere they aren't! My only suggestion is to get some insecticide and spray, spray, spray! If they're really bad, you might even want to call a professional who can do both the inside and out. It's just the time of year for that nonsense.

My dog kills the spiders for me whereas my cat plays with them. I usually stomp on any spiders I find

Eww, what country do you live in that the spiders are bigger than mice? That's really gross. ;_; Do you know if they're poisonous or not? Because if they aren't poisonous, that might take the edge off the fear a little bit if you could find out. I hope they go away soon for you!

I totally want to live somewhere there are spiders the size of mice! o_o providing they don't bite, then I'd have to go around killing them like I do with hornets

Or cockroaches, lol.
The biggest we get are tiger spiders (rare) and orb weavers, which are rarely bigger than my little fingernail.

If I see another I'm spraying it all over and sleeping downstairs again. Shame the cat can't learn to do it for us instead, brother and I are asthmatic and repellants make it worse.

Mum's guessing they're harvestmen. If they are then England has some disturbingly large archacnids. Or just the farm nearby. They should be completely harmless, but I just can't stand the sight of them anywhere. :C

JESUS THAT IS HUGE. Yeah I'd rather the cat bought me rodents rather than Satan's insectarium. Just..keep those outside. Preferably not near the windows or doors. ~~Satan should buy better enclosures.~~

God I don't know which is worse. I used to love waps/bees/etc., still do but when I was little I'd hold wasps and let them sit on me. I'd rather have cockroaches than these things, even though that'd be rather disturbing to find them running around.

They are, lol. I've had them in my bed, needless to say, the bed was ripped apart and searched. They also kill spiders so as I said, I'd much rather have spiders than house centipedes.

I feel you.When I was a child,my dad took a living lobster and put it in my bed while I was sleeping.
When I woke up..I..freaked out and almost died of an heart attack.Until that time,I'm afraid of lobster.Just looking at them terrifies me

For people it's spiders,for me it's lobsters.

I actually don't mind cockroaches, phrased it badly last post xD At least... I think I don't. I've never really seen any live ones, just the dead ones in glass on my shelf. Looks like something that would be fun to chase around, but I guess if I found it in my food I wouldn't be too happy.
I tend to feel pretty bad about all those hornets after they are dead, they are pretty, but this crap is dangerous. I have visions of walking barefoot as usual and stepping on one, for one.

...If I had a cat I'd prefer it to bring me dead giant spiders than dead mice, I might like pretty much any live animal but can't stand dead ones. Rotting/mummified corpses, ugh. I guess dead giant spiders don't decompose much so they'd be infinitely preferable.

Spiders, no problem. I leave them be around the house since I actually kind of like them.
But when I see a centipedes my heart skips beats, no lie Dx

I was covered in hissing cockroaches once, I thought they were adorable for some reason. xD Oh god do not want. That sounds horrible, really glad we don't get many hornets at all around here.

I don't particularly mind dead things, but I'm never the person finding them. It's always mum opening the door and freaking out at the poor half-eaten things. Really couldn't touch a spider, living or dead. ...Even though I pet a tarantula named Fluffy once. She was pretty cute.

I had once that there was a freaking spider in my bed, it was DEAD! 0_o
and in pieces! so apparantely I ripped the parts of his body while I was asleep,...
it was a big one too

Ugh ew I get house centipedes too...just not very often. They are SO loveING DISGUSTING

What's even more of a problem...not too long ago we had an invasion of spiders upstairs, in the bathroom, around out beds. *shudders* They were really big, and they were the kind that liked to hang down from the ceiling at around head height. There was one of them in the shower one morning before I was completely awake. Needless to say, I was awake after that. O_O

Which reminds me of that one time we had 3 or 4 dead spiders hanging from the ceiling on the stairs at one time. Gonna stop now.

Edit:

I read some about hornets on this board..we don't have a hornet problem but there are literally billions of carpenter bees. But they're so cute, I love them! :3 The ones near our porch don't even mind when you pet them. They refuse to sting, too. XD

Spiders are the absolute worst.
Especially the ones that have spindly-legs as I call them.

I woke up the other morning to one sitting right above my head. I got out of bed and stayed in the living room til my parents got home. Then my brother killed it for me. Turns out it was a Brown Recluse ono;;
It was about the size of a silver dollar. Scared me to death waking up to it.

There was one in the bathroom sink 2 days ago too about the size of a dime and I poured scalding hot water on it and flushed it down the drain.

Usually I have my parents kill them for me. Luckily mom sprayed for spiders and other bugs in the house the other day and then she also sprayed outside the house after that. So apart from the sink-spider I haven't seen one.

b;a;lkcnl;ksclk spiders ><. They are absolute terrors. Every time theres rainfall, the spiders take shelter indoors. I spotted a tiny spider the other day and I wasn't too scared so thought 'nawhh I'll just leave it be it'll leave on its own'.
1-2 days later. HUGE thing walks by and just stands there like it owns the place. I think they've pretty much eaten the entire insect population around us this year usually there's all sorts of bugs, but this year other than the odd fly theres been barely any

Oooh, hissing cockroaches. They kinda don't count because they are exotic, not 'house' variety, haha. Seen one. I was the 'canIholditplease8D' crazy girl while everyone else tried to keep away. (it hissed and had that nice smooth back. it was cute.)
There is usually plenty where I spend summers and two yera ago they even had a nest inside our chimney. NOT FUN. -.-

Anyway. DIsliking spiders is... natural and a sound idea besides, while my best friend is terrified of this cricket...tettigonia... thing. It's pretty and harmless xD

@ Squishy dead things are UNCLEAN. Plain brrr ~~KILL~~ CLEANSE IT WITH FIRE disgusting. Dead spiders/insects aren't squishy = are better.
But I'd still rather don't have dead anything in my bed.

Oh dear god, I was in the same boat as you a while back. We had spiders building webs all over the outside of the house and EVERY SINGLE TIME I WENT OUT I walked through one of their webs! Lord only knows what I'd do if they were inside. Maybe go live in the car.

There was also once when a spider as large as my hand came to take over our bathroom. Me and my boyfriend had to team up and kill him to death. I hit it with a broom and it didn't die what the love! It was a demon.
