Age Requirement

You must be 13 years of age or older to register and play on Subeta. Accounts that were made previously with parental permission will not be frozen.

Contests and Auctions

All contests, art and service auctions, etc. must have a clearly-defined set of rules and a solid end date not exceeding three months from the date of the initial post or announcement. Once completed, all prizes or rewards must be distributed within one month; failure to do so will be considered and treated as scamming.

Discrimination and Hate Speech

Do not discriminate or display discriminatory actions or behavior on the basis of gender, race, color, ethnicity, disability, religion, or sexual orientation.

Disputes Concerning Tangible Goods

Subeta is not responsible for disputes involving tangible goods or currency. We recommend purchasing optional shipping insurance and tracking to ensure that items are sent and received. Disputes involving payment should be taken up with the company involved in the transaction or a competent lawyer. Use your best judgement when making purchases online.

Do Not Abuse Glitches

Do not abuse glitches on the site. If you accidentally abuse a glitch, submit a support ticket stating exactly what happened. If you received an extra item from a glitch, delete it immediately.

Do Not Abuse The Trade System

Do not abuse the trade system by posting NFS/NFT lots, items you refuse to actually sell or trade, or posting lots as a method of advertising (including 'buying more of these' lots).

Do Not Attempt To Buy/Sell/Trade Onsite Content for Offsite Goods/Currency

Do NOT attempt to sell or trade Subeta currency, items or pets for off-site currency or items, or real-life currency or items. The only thing this does not include is artwork purchased on Subeta itself.

NOTE ON CUSTOM ITEMS: While the art for custom wearables may be commissioned onsite for USD, the items themselves still fall under the jurisdiction of this rule.

Do Not Attempt To Sell or Trade Pets

Do NOT attempt to sell or trade pets for sP, items, other pets, off-site currency or items, or real-life currency or items.

Do Not Attempt To Sell or Trade Usernames or Petnames

Do NOT attempt to sell or trade usernames or petnames for sP, items, other usernames or petnames, off-site currency or items, or real-life currency or items.

Do Not Claim Others' Pets As Your Own

The use of 'fake pets' on user/pet profiles, whether you state that they are fake or not, is not allowed. This means that you cannot display pets that are NOT owned by you on-site and/or claim ownership of a pet that you don't actually own. To further clarify, some users have taken to covering up their pet profiles with a custom one using 'fake' pet images and false information about their pets, as well as using pet profiles with links/images to other users' pet profiles and trying to pass them off as their own. This is not allowed as it misrepresents the true owner, creates confusion amongst other users, and unfairly claims another user's hard work.

Do Not Create Multiple Accounts

Each user is allowed to play on one account and one account only. Do not create multiple accounts for any reason whatsoever, even if your previous account(s) has been self-frozen or frozen by staff. Frozen users may still access the Ticket Center and should use it to request unfreezings. Self-frozen users may unfreeze with the click of a button and do not need to submit tickets. If you have lost any part of your login information, including username, please email us at support@subeta.net.

Do Not Distribute Harmful Content

Do not transmit or facilitate distribution or content that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, vulgar, sexually explicit, defamatory, infringing, discriminatory, invasive of personal privacy or publicity rights, or in a reasonable person's view, objectionable. Hate speech is not tolerated.

Do Not Evade Content Filters

Do NOT attempt to bypass/avoid profanity filters, or any other filters. This includes the use of inappropriate language in graphics.

Do Not File False Reports

Do not improperly use the in game complaint forms or make false reports to Subeta staff members.

Do Not Promote Illegal Online Activities

Do not promote or encourage any illegal activity (including but not limited to hacking, cracking or distribution of counterfeit or pirated software or music.)

Do Not Promote Petsites

You are allowed to discuss other petsites, but promoting another petsite is not permitted. Promoting includes asking for or offering referral links, invites, or otherwise encouraging other users to sign up.

Do Not Send Advertisements

Do not send any unsolicited advertisements to another user via the mail system, comments, forum pings, etc. These include -- but may not necessarily be limited to -- advertisements for shops, cults, items available for sale/trade, and wishlisted items.

Do Not Steal Or Redistribute Coding Or Art

Do not steal coding, art, or other copyrighted/trademarked content from any source, or attempt to redistribute such content. This can include, but is not limited to, manipulations or derivations of art, images, coding, literary works, etc. not wholly created by you.

English Only

Subeta's forums, shoutbox, news comments, and profile comments are restricted to English only. This is not to inconvenience our international players, but to ensure that the site remains safe and appropriate at all times.

External Software

Do not use external software to gain an advantage over other users.

Harassment

If you feel harassed by another user, you can block them here.

When you block a user, it will prevent them from:

sMailing you
Commenting on your profile
Sending you items
Sending gifts or presents
Offering on Trades
Commenting in your Journal
Viewing your profile/userlookup
Viewing your Shoutbox shouts
Viewing your forum posts
Viewing your news comments

If the user continues to attempt to contact you directly via any other means on the site, you may report it at the Ticket Center to have the situation looked into.

If you have been blocked by a user, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CONTACT THEM via any other means on the site, including asking someone else to contact them on your behalf. Similarly, if you have blocked a user, you need to also cease contact with that user. Contacting someone on behalf of a blocked user is also considered harassment and is a warnable offense.

If you are receiving anonymous giftboxes with threatening or rule-violating messages, please report it to a User Administrator via the Ticket Center. A User Admin will be able to help you.

Illegal Content

Do not post, transmit, discuss, distribute, or otherwise promote content that is illegal. Debating the validity of legal issues is permitted in the Debate forums, however.

Impersonation

You may not impersonate another person (including celebrities), indicate that you are a Subeta staff member or a representative of Subeta, or attempt to mislead users by indicating that you represent Subeta or any of Subeta's partners or affiliates.

Inappropriate Pet Names

Do not create or adopt pets with inappropriate names. We reserve the right to change, without notice, the name of any pet that is in violation of our site rules. This includes -- but is not limited to -- names containing or intending to represent swear words, sexually explicit words or topics, or hate speech. Anything that is filtered on the forums may not be used as a pet name.

Mysterious Melody

Please do not disclose any details about the Mysterious Melody program that could ruin the surprise. This includes what your MM gave you, what you gave your MM, when gifting is occurring, or any other information along the same vein.

No Begging

Do not ask other users to give you items, pets, sP, or services unless they have offered it as a gift or part of a giveaway.

No Cheating

Do not request or offer help/answers for Subeta games or puzzles, including but not necessarily limited to Trivia, Item Identifier, Item Scramble, and Bones.

Homework help also has limitations: you may request or offer assistance with homework, but cheating is strictly prohibited.

No Discussing Frozen Users

Do not discuss or mention frozen users.

No Fake Floating Items/Events

Do not attempt to cheat, scam, or otherwise mislead other users in any way by posting fake "floating item" events like goodie bags, balloons, masks, etc. anywhere on the site. This includes forumsets, signatures, profiles, billboards, and all other areas.

No SPAM

Do not SPAM. This includes excessive smilies/emoticons, repeated one-word messages, stretching the shoutbox, repeated identical messages, pinging forum groups for threads irrelevant to the group, making multiple forum posts about the same topic, pinging individual users to advertising threads based on wishlist contents, and "bumping."

Overlays and Pet Profiles

You are allowed to use a custom image representing your pet to overlay on the original pet image as long as the pet's name, true color, specie, gender, and owner are still visible and not misrepresented in any way. Misrepresenting any details -- including stats -- is not allowed. In short, overlays are okay as long as textual details are not covered, and current, unaltered official art is not used. These same rules apply to minion and treasure chest overlays as well.

Pet Spotlight Nominations

Do not ask for pet spotlight nominations. Any threads created asking for nominations will be locked. Asking for nominations in the shoutbox could result in a temporary ban from the shoutbox.

Sale of Subeta Inspired Items

Physical and Digital re-creations of official Subeta art MUST be sold on-site. Do not attempt to sell these items offsite.

Sexual/Graphic Content

Wherever possible, do NOT forget to mark boards or site areas containing sexual or graphic content with a warning; in the forums, this warning needs to be in the thread title. (IE: "Mature content".) And remember, there ARE limits as to how much we will allow. Subeta is PG-13!

Shared Computers, Connections, And Notes To Staff

If you access Subeta from multiple computers, share a computer with other Subeta members, or share an internet connection or network access with other Subeta members, do not post "notes to staff" in your profile; these are not checked and, if found by a member of staff, will be cleared. Please notify staff by submitting a support ticket via the Ticket Center, and be sure to include usernames and their relationship with you if possible. In addition to this, you should limit gifting and "one-way" trades between accounts on shared computers, connections, and networks to prevent confusion.

Sharing Accounts

Each individual user is allowed to access and/or play on one account and one account only, regardless of circumstances. Account sharing in any way, shape, or form is prohibited except when neither party accesses or plays on any other accounts (i.e., if one account is shared by two people and neither of them has their own account in addition to the one they share.)

Please keep in mind that while this exception is permitted, we strongly advise against it. Account sharing is done at your own risk and the staff cannot assist you if the co-owner(s) changes the password, pounds pets, gets the account frozen, etc.

An account will be frozen if it is shared with another Subeta member in any way, including self-frozen members and/or staff-frozen members who have not yet completed the mandatory wait time before rejoining. This means you may not do quests, collect free gifts, petsit, apply coding to, etc. any other member's account or allow them to do the same on yours.

Solicitation Of Staff

Do not attempt to hire artists, programmers, or any sort of staff for your own site.

Spoilers

For the consideration of other members, please do not post spoilers -- including but not limited to Melody's Cottage during Luminaire celebrations -- without appropriate spoiler alerts. In the forums, the notice should be in the thread title if at all possible. Because there is no way to properly notify others of spoilers in the shoutbox, we ask that you refrain from posting them there.

Targeting

Do not make blacklists or targeting/flaming topics that name any specific user. It is fine to discuss the behavior of another user, but you cannot mention a specific user by username or identify them in an obvious way, blocked or not. This applies to groups as well.

Theft Of Private Account Information

Do not attempt to get a password, other account information, or other private information from a Member or any other user on Subeta. Remember: Subeta staff will NEVER ask for your password. Don't give your password information out to anyone. This doesn't apply to sale and purchase of real items from other Subeta users. If you buy something that needs to be sent via real mail, you must provide the correct shipping address. Please be careful, and if you are uncomfortable providing your address, do not attempt to purchase real items. All real item transactions are at your own risk. Please use common sense and be careful when posting any personal information on the subeta site. Please send your information privately through sMail, rather than posting it publicly.
