Cash Shop: Monthly Collection
Item not found: graffiti hairspray
Graffiti can be about saying something publicly when your voice isn't heard. Making a statement through art. It can breathe life into communities, and show the diversity of its inhabitants through their creativity and viewpoint. It can also just be about making a city beautiful with color and character.
We have many lifeforms on Subeta, each with their own story to tell. We may never hear or understand them all, but we will keep watching and listening and learning. Kickstart your story with this month’s collection!
Previous July Donation Presents and Collections have returned to the Cash Shop!

I'm a rural-dweller so there's no real graffiti by me (not counting the occasional initials in a heart on overpasses or abandoned billboards). But I do work in the city and my way to and from work runs along side a half-decent stretch of rail line. One of the reasons I like to watch the trains go by is the graffiti on the rail cars.
Most times its just a tag; hastily done, no real style, or just stenciled on. But every once in a while a gem rolls by. I've seen pieces of the graffiti from the Fresh Prince opening credits, amazing Garfields (with and without Odie and one with Pooky), an incredibly gigantic dragon that took up an entire car, the bottom half of a car tagged 'Gir' surrounded with several Gir portraits that ran the length of the car (seen last week), Grape Ape, and a cartoon cat in a white lab coat I know I've seen on Boomerang but can't remember the name of (see in the same train as Gir).
The only thing I don't like is this: Since its all on rail cars I'll never see the same pieces again to get photos. And it makes me unbelievable sad.

Now this is a theme I can get behind. I'm a sucker for urban styles and graffiti art, and I like how colorful and bright this theme is. I'm gonna need that background, maaan...

We need more items that are blacklight on site so much! This new dress is making me giddy with joy. it matches my recently released Bismuth CW set so well! I was really happy with all the blacklight items we received for the Masqu and remain hopeful about getting more on site as the color is not well represented.

These are lovely and vibrant <3 But I'm having a little issue. I like saving the images to my computer and making avatars in SAI, however these new ones are saving as webpages?

Ahh, makes me a bit nostalgic for 5 Pointz in Queens. It was a sad day when someone painted over the really awesome Mazinger art, and sadder when they bulldozed the entire building, sacrificing an urban art landmark that drew talent from around the world on the altar of gentrification.

Has there been fewer items for a while? I see someone mentioned it in the news comments... and this was the first month I even noticed it. *slow* I'm all for quality over quantity though, and a lot of those items are super detailed so kudos to the artists. I will say that, even though I'll never wear it because it's not my style, that dress is just... wow, fantastic.

Cool! I'd like to see some street art! Maybe a possible exhibition at the Delphi Museum? :)

I love how this site is so quick to implement user suggestions. People were asking for more urban things, and now we've got some! :)

Only thing I like is the background so that will save me a little $ this month. :) Wish the female hair was longer.
