Images :(

Hey everyone - we're aware that some images around the site aren't loading again. We're working on getting them back to working as soon as possible.

After the last time this happened we were given guarantees that our account wouldn't be unfairly suspended again (which it has been) based on bogus / trolling reports. Now that it has been, we're going to start the search on new providers.

The difficulty is that this bucket is where we've put every Subeta image (artist uploads, avatars, avatar wearable images, item images, all of it!) and it's very scary to move those around, but it's clear we've got to do it. I'll provide some updates on this soon (we have options, they're all just a little more expensive than amazon) after we've got the images working again.

I'm really sorry and understand frustrations around this. We've seen this issue get resolved in ~24 hours in the past.

Can't believe all this is just caused by trolls and false reporting. You'd think the service wouldn't let that happen. This is just as broken as the Youtube report and copyright system, when bad seeds get a hold of it.

As soon as I noticed the images not working again I instantly let out an exasperated sigh on your behalf. This must be unimaginably frustrating, and even more because they said it wouldn't happen again! It's super demoralizing. I hope finding a new provider and moving everything goes smoothly. Can't speak for everyone but I know I'm more than willing to wait out some technical difficulties.

I'm sure a little more expensive is much cheaper than having to have this "emergency" continue to pop up and interrupt everything you're working on. Much cheaper than the stress and time it has cost you and any staff involved.

This is very unfortunate news. Not mad, but disappointed in the people who file those fake reports because they've got nothing better to do with themselves...
I'm definitely all for a new image provider if it helps with the issue even with a higher cost included because the service from Amazon is very poor based on the protection guarantees and what not.

I said this in the post I made about it last time, but we spend ~$50 a month on our image hosting on Amazon AWS, and it's the last thing that we've got there. Moving it is complicated (gigabytes!) and after some assurances last time that we'd have a flag that would prevent this, it didn't seem worth the time and effort to move all of those images.

Unfortunately, now we've got to do it :(
