SSS Ambassador: Emergency Situation
There are seven short blasts of the ship's whistle followed by one long blast. Soon after, the loud speaker crackles to life:
"This is a pre-recorded emergency message. All passengers are asked to gather at their nearest muster station. Primary exits toward muster stations are marked with a blue arrow. Please proceed in a calm and orderly fashion in the direction of these arrows. Crew members will assist you further at each of the muster stations."

DAY 10
6:50PM
Recently left the Sacred Lands, en route to Shadowglen via Omen Islands. (Question the wisdom of this charted course, but distance from the islands makes local intervention unlikely.) Inclement weather and turbulence has caused several of the ship's amenities to be closed.
7:50PM
I am confident in saying that the ship is definitely under attack from some force and must concede that this is likely the doing of the sea witch.
10:05PM
We have cut the engines, activated our emergency beacon, and will soon be gathering passengers at the muster points, though I do wonder how effective evacuation by life raft will be in this particular circumstance.
10:25PM
More shadows have gathered in the water, and the ship has been struck several times by all manner of monstrous beasts. It seems clear to me that evacuation is not a safe option for passengers at this time. The MS Oracle has received our distress call and been dispatched from port in the Darkside, though it is many hours away. A few passengers with battle experience have chosen to take matters into their own hands, and while myself and the crew have actively discouraged them, I cannot help but admire their bravery against these horrors. Those with combat experience have been permitted to purchase weapons available on the ship in limited supply; the cost is high to ensure only those with proper training and motivation are wielding dangerous weapons on deck. I certainly hope we get through this to see the income put to good use -- we'll be needing repairs. (Suddenly all those jokes about icebergs and capsizing are not as funny.)
Shinwa save us all.

I spent plenty of sp on weapons for my pet, can't use them now. I loved battling, because I loved the /chance/ it gave to everyone. Maybe you'd get your behind handed to you by a stronger opponent, the same way you'd get it handed to you in real life. The weapon could only carry you so far. I don't think Subeta should try and make it's battle like a video game, because it's not one. It's been more suited to life and I wish it would have stayed that way. If we gained experience like we did on video games, with the ability to constantly earn it (not training sessions or the rare level up candy) then okay. Great. It fits. You don't earn exp quickly enough in battles to make this effective in level gains. Imagine Pokemon if it took you an hour to train your pet one level, and the battle exp earned was minimal and rare candies were hard to find and mostly expensive.
If I purchase an item as a collector or steal it, discover it, whatever, I can pick up the finest blade there is and STILL use it. There's no force field that says, Sorry, buddy, but you're too weak to handle this sword. You can use a letter opener right now, and maybe later after you have some experience, a dagger. Believe me, I've dealt with many people in the ER who have shot or stabbed or wounded themselves due to inexperience, and there was nothing there saying no, you can't use that gun!
A % scale, great. A beginner can only hope to "get lucky" and make a good hit and pray they don't damage themselves in the process. An all up: Sorry, you can't use this. No. We're not a game where you can level up and gain stat points in a short, efficient time.

I beat the first three, but I can't beat the strongest one. I almost can, but my pet just isn't quite strong enough.
Managed to beat the first 2 opponents 5 times each but no way are my pets strong enough to try against the other 2 opponents. Just out of curiosity....do we now have to wait another 3 days for something to happen regarding this plot/event?

Managed to get 15 on the easiest and 10 on the next 2, and 1 on the 4th. I could keep going on the first 3, but I'm not. Do not like the tier system at all. I can't use my 2 best weapons until I go up 2 more tiers.
I didn't have a chance after the first two, lol. Good luck to all of the super strong pets - whip 'em good.

My battle pet's only tier 1 (almost tier two, lol)... Guess I'll be sitting this one out! Best of luck to all high-tier battlers! (:
I wonder if this will lead to us picking to be either a Pirate or an Islander, like Keith mentioned?
This new tier system is pissing me off. My strongest pet is only Tier 3, so I can't use any of my decent weapons.

gee, I'm doing errands and offline for a couple of hours and the news is flooded! pun intended?
Hail Merana--goddess of the screwed islanders

Yea I really love that the battle part is apart of it, but not completely necessary! It's fun and fair (:

I can hold off the crabs and the jellyfish but I'm useless against the harder foes, good luck high tier battlers!

Most of those weapons I can't use, and the one I bought isn't any help at all - it keeps misfiring and doing additional damage. That was a total waste. I can't beat either of these challengers, even though my battlers are listed as being good matches. There needs to be something between the easy side of medium and HARD. :

OMG I so want that harp... not to use for battle, but to add to my pet's TC!! But I don't even have half that in my vault (cries)! I'm hoping that we can buy it later at a more "reasonable" price! I too will be sitting the rest of this battle out as my poor pet is only at tier 2 and can't even last one hit from Teef!
Teekah and I whipped on the first two but these last two kicked our asses pretty good, lol. herds pets into the safe zones to make way for the others much stronger pets Go Battlers!!

Gonna sit this one, although I do admit it got me wanting to get my pets back into training. They haven't in a while.

I'm happy to have this non-essential battle part of the event since I haven't tinkered with battling since the new system was put in place. It's letting me see - without a load of stress - where my pet (and weapons) are at the moment while having a bit of fun, too. :)
Ah, that's good to hear. Still, though, I'm not a huge fan of this tier system. Not that I could have afforded those weapons anyway, haha ugh.

It is NOT required for you to battle to advance to the next cruise phase.
This phase is included to add the battle element in for the battlers of Subeta.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BATTLE TO ADVANCE.

too bad about the new tier system. Before I could battle my level 150 pet efficiently with the ability to wield expensive powerful weapons, now my pet is pretty useless and it takes forever to level him up sufficiently, so I guess I'm out :(
o-oh my. I think I'll just cheer from the sidelines, seeing as I'm poorer than dirt and my highest level pet is tier one. good luck everyone! let's hope we don't all drown! :D;

I hope that it is not essential that we battle. My pets are very weak. I can't even get past the first one :/
welp. i hope we can still move on without battling because all my pets suck, ahaha.
we should rename the ship SOS ambassador

Those weapons. Money, Tier, Too Much.
On said note of having to fight, I TOLD you to not provoke the physical gods, but did you listen?
... Wait, where's the Captain gone?
How do you even find these opponents? Have they kidnapped the captain? Do pets not even tier 4 have a chance? Buh.

I'm a lover, not a fighter, and especially not in water(very weak swimmer) ;A; Imma sit this out as well
fffff.... the gap between the medium challenger and hard challenger is just so big waah
see if I can take on teef lol

Well Lovely, Some of our pets can't be used on the new update. JUST DO EFFING LOVELY.
Welp, Good luck to you all! /Takes last Lifeboat to safety with friends/

Oh no! None of your pets are eligible for battle. You might want to make sure that they're well fed and happy!
I don't have real high level battle pets anyhow, nor do I have the sP to buy the new weapons, so I guess I will sit this one out

My battle pet is only tier 1 though. D:
Oh well, I guess it's time to see how many time I can beat up Grandcrab Jones before he has a stroke or something.

I can't afford these weapons... ;A;
but nonetheless...

Well, I was able to take out one of them for a few times.
Only was able to damage the last one halfway before being slain!
I did well and helped my fellow cruise mates out in the long run. I'll keep fighting and handing out heals!
