Petes Quests + PetePoints!

Pete is the newest quest to get revamped! He is down to 10 quests (15 for users with a gold account) with increased prizes.

You also have a chance of earning PetePoints when finishing a quest, which you can use in his kitchen!

I'm sorry for all the comments back to back, this will be the last one. I also love the idea that was mentioned earlier about a general Quest shop and all quests giving quest points that can be spent in that one shop to keep things neat and more tidy. My previous comments still stand though.

I'll probably get reamed for this but what would make it even better for quest related shops is if the items were like the Anniversary achievement items and couldn't be sold or exchanged between users and everyone had to earn their own points to get them.

Did all of Pete's quests today and didn't get a single pete point. However, I don't have a problem with them being hard to get and rare. I love new goals and having to work for the items in the quest shops. It will make getting them more of an accomplishment and something to be proud of. Not everything has to be given to me NOW, NOW, NOW.

Hmm... I'm interested. It would be neat to see this for all quests maybe, but with more items eventually. The handful of items look really nice.

The kitchen shop is an interesting idea and I'm curious to see if any other quests get shops. But I don't see anything in Pete's shop that I would want and the rewards for doing the quests weren't really worthwhile. Unless that changes I doubt I will be doing Pete except for Shinwa quests.

I was actually talking about the prizes that Pete has. The prizes are nice, but a little underwhelming. I do like this though.

It's a nice idea, I love that the quester has 30 minutes instead of 4-5 but I agree with other players when they say there should be a petepoint for each quest.
Occasionally there could be 2 or 3 given if a random element must be in there.

Poor Pete has been so ignored. He deserved a fresh coat of paint and new appliances in his kitchen. :) I'll wait to see the rewards in the coming days before judging. If nothing else, raising the time limit to a half hour was nice, as some computers are too slow to complete them in 5 minutes.

Love the kitchen shop! Also like the idea Bulleta had, of using quest points in other themed shops. Regardless, I like seeing these features get some attention, it shows us they haven't been forgotten. ;) Now, if cults could get that same focus one of these days... *ahem*

While I like the idea of Petepoints, like someone below me said, it should be universal for all quests! Give all quest these questpoints, and make game prizes available in their shops. I rather save up the points and get what game items I need, than be given the same deflated items over and over again. Especially when you spend a bit on a quest only to be disappointed by a 100 sp game item. Then you could just rotate the stock of items from time to time. This would help put in dent in all those pesky useless items we get from quests.

This sounds like a good idea, but I'm going to agree with those who have voiced that having quest points rather than individualized currencies for everything would be for the best, with Wizard Tokens being the obvious exception since they're accepted in multiple locations as currency.

Not much into any points since I am not fast enough to do any restocking anyway (which is why I like quests occasionally), so hope the prizes are nice!

I like the idea of the point shop. Also I would love the whole thing even more if the quest count on the sidebar was fixed. I like seeing at a glance which quests I still need to do. I also agree with bulleta: "i personally don't mind dealing with 2094398275 currencies but to kind of keep it to a minimum
Maybe instead of petepoints specifically there could be a questpoints thing to spend on all the quest related shops"

i like the idea of the point shop, but overall his rewards were extremely underwhelming. i think the highest payout i got was 5k. pete's staying on my "don't bother" list, tbh.

I actually like this idea; the idea of Petepoints makes me want to do Pete quests :). I want those food items for Blazed! He's almost close to the 4,000 mark ;w;. I know he has a ways until he reaches 5,000, but ever food item counts in my book. Also, I hope more food items get added to Pete's kitchen :) that would be a great idea.

I have to say that i like the reduced quests...I typically only to them on weekends because feel like I have to do them all ... and I don't have time to do them all, so I do none.
I would also comment that some quest seem like I'm just trading junk for junk and they're rather pointless. I like the new kitchen items.

Just finished 15 quests. Made a total of 20K SPs, got 2 points and a bunch of cheap items not 1 worth more than 15K max (and I fragged half of them because they weren't worth pricing in my shop).
Definitely not impressed. Plus now I have no quests left when I do Shinwa later. That's the main problem for me with the decreased quests because sometimes it takes 5 quests for each (Pete, Wiz, Maleria or Library) to get an affordable one to do Shinwa. Blah.

I'm pretty sure that the sp payouts here are also based on overall average price. Needs more testing though.

OK he got nerfed, he just payed me 900 sp for a rarity 57 item, and he gave me item rewards of rarity 45 and rarity 31. He used to give out ~5k for rarity 57 items and he didn't give items rewards that were too far out of the rarity range. So now Pete's on my 'never-again' list with the Wizard. Increased rewards, yeah right,

No pete points. Declined 2 quests. Received 1 elixir that I'll be lucky if it sells for anywhere near the going rate. If Subeta is trying to drive away their loyal users, they sure are doing a good job at it. Not impressed with the quest revamps at all. Quests and vending are really the only reason I come to the site if there isn't an event going on. *shrug*

I love the idea of a Quest shop! I much much much prefer it to incorporating their unique prizes into the other items that the quest gives out (like any of Cynthia's or the Cursed unique prizes). I hope that all of the quests get shops like their for their unique prizes!!!

@sakurra_kaze .....you must not have been on here long, that IS the new Pete image, the old one was gross, like six o clock shadow and grubby, fat and greasy with stains all over him.. not the guy you wanted to think of touching food. This one at least is clean, with a smile, and has kind eyes, at least that was what they were aiming for. He's far less unsettling than the zombie cook.....at least to me.

The kitchen seems like a really good idea, but i agree with insane~ it has to be handled right. Ideally, i think it would be best if the stock was rotated in/out, kind of like the millionaire center.

Mirror : It has recently been recieving updates, yes. But how long did it stay without updates? You could do the quests for a month and buy all the items. Let's assume you need them twice, then what ? People eventually lose interest, and the quests end up not being worth doing for the few updates there are. I just hope Pete doesn't turn into that. Exclusive currencies can be a very strong incentive if they are handled right.

The problem with having a currency for each feature, is that, you end up losing track of them, which eventually leads to them not being updated anymore. Blue building, I mean you.

So for a while, people will do these Pete Quests with the extra incentive of getting exclusive Pete Points that you cannot get anywhere else. I understand that you will keep the shop stocked with more content as time goes by, but it is unlikely that they will retain value long term. And it's not the point, right ? Those items are not supposed to be worth 6 digits. Thing is, in order for people not to lose interest in these points, there is mainly two options :

- You either release items with high end prices in that shop, so that for that alone you'll need to gather currency for a while (as with the Battle shop's components)
- You release items for which there is an interest in consuming them more than once. Books, foods and collectibles are for that reason excluded. What I have in mind would be more along the lines of MKBs and Boosters, but I guess you can come up with more creative ideas of your own.

If not, you risk rendering the currency obsolete.

I was wondering when this Pete would get an update! I always hated getting his quests when doing my daily shinwa quests because his quests weren't updated. Looking forward to seeing how much his quests have improved on this new system. Can't wait to see what happens with Pete's Kitchen. This idea has a LOT of potential especially with all the Holidays subeta has.
