Zombie Den 2014 + Harvesting Achievements
Zombies will be pleased to know that Skitters is back with some new items! I wonder if there will be a way for the rest of yous to buy his items...
There are also achievements for harvesting and being harvested. They will have titles soon, and I'll post when they do with the link to get the retroactively if you already have the achievement. Note: if you got harvested before the achievements were added, it may take a few hours for them to show up for you. Don't make tickets just yet! If it turns out that you'll need to make them, I'll post on the news letting you know :)

In the first year people got infected through random events (they "caught colds") and through biting (once you got to stage... 4 ?). I know I got Boobitis through a random event before we even knew what the Hell was going on, ahahaha... NOT through kissing.

I don't think I posted at all in 2009 and I still got infected. I think I got it from reading a book (newspaper, technically) that was a free gift given out during the end of the event when everything was winding down. Not that I have an opinion on the debate going on, I just don't think posting was a requirement to getting infected in 09.

...this being said... guys. Humans will most likely be allowed in the Den at some point... and if they aren't, there is no such thing as "the rich zombies", there is and there has always been zombies willing to shop for you in the Den for base price :/ Especially now that the shopping interval has been lifted. So definitely don't fret over that, the items aren

Considering how insensitive people are, resorting to name calling when people voice a different opinion...considering the fact that I feel like I'm being punished for my personal convictions...and considering other passive-agressive/disrespectful behaviour I've seen around the forums and in news posts and elsewhere on site since this event began...I'll be back in March. So long, I feel sick over this kind of treatment.

I should clarify that and say that there was no kissing quick link back then. So the only way to kiss someone was to find one of their posts in the Epidemic forum.

Achievement page says all my organs have been taken but I haven't gotten the main achievement yet. Hope it's fixed soon.

For everyone saying you had to actively work really hard at not getting infected the first year, all you had to do was not post in the Epidemic forum. There was no kissing link back then, and the Kissing link only appeared in that forum. So it wasn't like, an impossible task or anything XD

I'm still missing four achievements and now that I'm completely harvested, the Organ Donor meta-achievement won't trigger because of it. Would really like for this to be fixed, as I'm not alone in this. I'm having a great time with this event, but the glitches and errors are really making a dent in my fun :/

I agree that the time should be shortened. With the lag and 502's, this is going to take forever.

love the new idea, but just wish the time between harvesting is just sooooo long. any chance you could shorten it? especially since the pandemic never lasts long enough

i don't mind being gross, and man if it bothers you that much, throw a vanishing cream on your avatar until you have all the achievements
then opt-out, and your avatar will go back to normal
so if anyones squeamish but wants to participate, you can just do that

For the longtime zombie achieves, you had to sacrifice having a nice avatar for upwards of a year, something a lot of people couldn't do, myself included, but there are still some first gen zombies out there.
What I'm saying is, these people are awesome and put effort into those achievements. Asking for an achieve for sitting on your ass and doing nothing the whole event is dumb and pointless. Also, why do you not want to participate anyway? We don't have events very often on site and cmon. First time getting to harvest other people's body parts? How is that not awesome

Ahh... can't harvest anymore, just blank pages.
And am with not allowing non-zombies freepass (conditional access is ok though). Zombies had to work hard to be a zombie and then have to keep being a zombie all year long even if it kind of ruin most avatar looks and miss out some of the achievement (a cheer to those that managed to keep save too)... not doing anything much and have access to an exclusive shop? It's like saying that those that did not even participate in the Island-Pirate plot should receive the same "benefits"!

Skitters is saying I have 0 sp. However, I was able to purchase one of the new shoes (in purple woohoo), anyways.
Love the new items, btw. ;) Hope being a zombie still has its advantages.

Yeah, can't get harvest to work either. When I click the scalpel a blank box pops up and nothing appears in my inventory.

Is this year 4 or 5 of the event? And yes, for newer users, the first year there was an event for NOT being infected past stage 7, BUT it wasn't because you got to opt out, it's because you were careful or lucky! xD

I cant harvest or get into the shop. Is this supposed to be happening? I though we could only get in this week where as zombies can get in all year long.

I'm okay sharing with non-zombies if they can only get in during Pandemic and have the timer between items. (: I think that's fair. Honestly there are plenty of "zombie den helpers" out there that will buy the items on request and sell them at cost, so it's not like they're "zombie-only" items.

Guys, could you at least read the announcement before you start complaining. It clearly implies that there will be a way for non-zombies to access the shop later on.

I kinda find it ironic. Skitters is supposed to be the leader of zombie/human alliances and coexistence (judging from how he and Ecks went down a few years back). Yet his is the only shop that won't sell to non-zombies.

Since being harvested changes your HA will there be a way near the end of the event to get your HA back to normal, like a cure to fix the injuries? If yes then I would be willing to opt back in the get the achievements for being harvested >_<

You zombies have had your fun, why keep getting special treatment if we are all equals, hmmm? Besides it's not any users fault that they joined after the cure was created, i'd have loved the chance to be a zombie, and not just so I could access skitters shop, but just being a zombie would be cool :)

Floating flowers are not working either. If you pick one up it says we have no record of this item. Have fun in Skitters shop ^_^.

Glad it'll be opening up to others, considering we haven't had the ability to become zombies for quite a while now. Hopefully harvesting will be fixed soon.
