And for the record I was "pooping all over their win". If someone's going to get bent about criticism then that's their issue and from what I can tell the winner was actually polite about it and doesn't need people to defend her.
No, not every pet is going to be to everyone's tastes but I would rather be honest with someone than blow smoke up their ass. If that makes me some shit person to your mind then good for you. Again, at least I can be honest about it.
Either way I did congratulate them on the win because I know how hard it is to win the pet spotlight and yes, I know what it means.

There's a difference between expressing an opinion constructively and nicely and expressing an opinion on someones pet spotlight win as if to take the winner down a peg. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, especially when something obviously means a lot to the person. Guess which one you did.
