After listening to some feedback, it\'s clear that our users would love to see some of the facial features from the CW competition as winners, as these items are not able to be resubmitted as normal CWs. Third of all, I am also a bit disappointed again. How did you exactly choose the new winners? The news post leaves me guessing at your method, it kind of sounds like you saw these items mentioned in the comments and picked them for that reason. I'm happy there are some face items now, but were these really the most voted for items? I would have been more happy with those, I think. It didn't even have to be face items for me. ... I completely don't understand all the shop separation shenanigans. If it was even amounts for both sides or whatever, then more of them would have one. More spooky items where picked because A. The good art leaned more that way (drawing this from memory.. there seemed to be more in the voting chamber but I'm not 100% certain) and B. People liked them more. It's like when people start throwing a piss fit about male items. Yes, let's have some, but no, it's not going to be even because they're not purchased (or voted for in this case) evenly. Supply and demand and all that jargon.

Thank you so much for adding the additional winners! I always felt a bit confused by the fact that there were so few winners this time around. 10 winners seems like a much more fair solution than 6. But maybe next time the site should allow for there to be at least 4-5 facial feature winners and 4-5 items in various other categories. It really seems like the facial features should be in a separate category since a lot of them cannot be submitted to the site as CWs.

But can't help it to think it is kinda suspicious, with the den items (which are sold for sP, since no one is looking to sink candy hearts...) and the other four non-facial items.

I was sitting there scratching my head a moment when it said that they can't be submitted as reg cws, thought it meant by entering the contest you can't submit, but then realized it meant because they're facial features.... (which I still don't understand why not?) and then I thought "Why did the ones that won the extra slots only get to be Zombie Den?" and then I realized something- it's because these cannot at all be submitted as makeup substitute. Unlike the one I did, (the 'Parfum') I can take out the actual eyes and just submit the makeup as a cw... so... I guess that makes sense, but I agree- seems unfair that the Den got more items than the Parlor, but whatever.

`Thank you subeta for bringing in even more items from these contest! :heart: But I am sad to hear that the zombie den will be open this year for non-zombies aswell :( I was sooo excited for these skins and that I could be a zombie whenever I want because of the zombie den and now I hear that I dont even have to wear a skin to enter the zombie den...I now dont think I will use those skins in the nearby future :sob:

To clarify my comment: it's an 8-2 ratio for the Zombie Den. It just doesn't feel right. 10 items in total chosen. Should've had 5 in each shop. It's not fair to the L'Amour Parlour artists that submitted designs for there. For sake of argument: 33.3% of the population love all Louis items. 33.3% of the population love all Skitters items. Then there's 33.3% of the population that love both (I fall under there).
Can't change things now, but if this happens again next year for both Louis L'Amour's and Skitters' shops, I think it'd be only fair that there would be two separate voting areas. One completely dedicated to the L'Amour Parlour and one to the Zombie Den, each with their own respectable finalist items to choose from and vote on. That way there'd be an even amount of items for each shop instead of there being a majority going to one over the other.

I'm seeing some mixed reactions and accusations of special treatment which i don't think is entirely fair. They realized where they made mistakes, said they would be clearer in the future, and added some additional winners based on what people said they wanted to see. The mods cannot please everyone, but this sounds like they did their best to please the users as fairly as possible. Thank you for the additional items. I may not be too interested in them but other people were, and you did your best to work with what people wanted. Nothin wrong with that.

@Emotional Oh it's fine that mine didn't win because I'm gonna submit the makeup as a CW and maybe submit the eye without makeup for a later comp, but my thing is like I'm more into cutesy things and it seems like in this competition cutesy things kinda got the short end of the stick. And I know in general that same thing happens to the non-cutesy stuff which may be why less cutesy stuff ended up winning, I just feel like they should try to find a balance in cutesy/non-cutesy because I mean ultimately those that were highly voted on won (though who knows maybe some other non-eye items may have had higher votes but they released these because everyone complained that no facials won or whatnot). If anything they should have just announced 4 more winners, if they happened to be eye items fine, but who knows maybe some other items with high votes didn't make the cut because people wanted facial stuff as well as the previously announced prizes. To me that just feels unorganized, but maybe in the future even with categories for eyes, wigs, etc.. there might be more balance.
In the end, I think they should just lift the rule to submit eye/facial stuff as CWs and then in future competitions we might have a better balance of themed stuff.

Congrats to the four new winners! You guys did great! Though I am still massively disappointed that La Amour only got two winners. It feels uneven and unfair. There were ones that didn't win that I voted for that I wish made it or least know who made them so I can buy them with CSC. Even though I am bummed, you four also deserved to win. You made some quality items.

Also glad you listened to feesback about opening the den as a year round sink. I am excited to be able to grab needed items or TC items at will. I think this is a great change.

My question is, since you could submit facial wear for this contest, why can't you usually do them? Or am I confused on this point?

As much as I love these items, and I'm happy to see them onsite, I can't help but feel this is unfair. For future contests would it be possible to have things like this made more transparent? If facial items are going to get more chances to win just because they can't be submitted as CWs it would be nice to be notified before hand. The users that didn't submit facial items have no chance at being a winner after the event.
Thank you for releasing these, I don't begrudge the extra winners what they got, but maybe either make facial items available under normal circumstances, or let entrants know that face items will be given special treatment.

@Silvanesti Keith said he planned on categories next time around (although I think it was in regards to clothes, wigs, bgs, and face) but honestly I don't think they needed to separate categories for the shops? The only reason to make a category for faces is because they are the only face CWs to entire the site, but for something where the category is based on the theme there is no reason to say 'oh these are both shirts, this one has 3x the vote of that one but that one is 4th best in the shop we'd release it in whereas the other one might have 3x the votes but is currently considered to be in 6th place of its respective shop.

@Unwritten neither I did lol I just voted for one of the 10 winners (that background). IDK, none of the items were just not my thing. My favorite was that relic of ??? (I guess it was Innocence/Passion, a pink eye - it just matches perfectly with a darker skin)

OH wow, thanks for that Keith!! It took me so long to type that I didn't see your post til afterward. I had NO clue. I read the news page here all the time, but I don't follow subeta anywhere else. I'm just an "old timer" who doesn't tweet or do much on FB, but I'm HERE almost all the time, lol. SO glad that the zombie den is open year round now. I can relax and space out my purchases. Are the older items going to retire though?

I avoided voting for almost any face items so this news report doesn't affect me much, but I am glad you listened to the users :) Now, if only next time we could get them ALL added and say...only the top voted for get prizes (other than their own item of course). I thought everyone did an amazing job!

I actually didn't vote for any of the facial features this time. I think that with all the items added to the subeautique lately, there has been plenty of new facial items. Not crazy about any of these but I'll get them to work on the wardrobe achievements.

Silvanesti, I agree with you that it would be better if more of the items were available at "the love parlour" because that shop is open ALL year and you can always buy candy hearts with sP (all year) and sometimes they get very cheap. So, actually candy heart currency is sometimes better than sP since it converts to sP, where as a shop that's not open for all year for everyone makes the items less obtainable. I'm not complaining, so please don't pounce on me folks, I'm merely making a statement, if I wanted to be a zombie I could be, so I'm simply comparing shops here.

@Emotional and I get that, I just wish in the future these kinda comps will be organized better, like have them say x amount of items for lou's shop will win and x amount for skitter's will win. Ultimately, it's great that they listened to us in the first place and am glad they brought out some more winners, even if they're not my style, I just feel like there needs to be categories and organization for the future comps like this.
