What\'s that...more pet slots?!
Good evening, shining jewels!
There\'s one thing that we here in Delphi are not short of, and that\'s pets looking to be adopted. As the Ambassador for Delphi, I wanted to do something about this, so I partnered up with my fellow Ambassador, Saggitarius, to come up with an idea to help some of our many wonderful pets to find homes!
He tells me that many of you have full homes, and so aren\'t able to adopt - and he suggested that maybe if you had some more pet slots, you might adopt more pets! And he was more than willing to help with that, only charging a \'small fee\' - and he\'ll donate the profits to Adopt R Us so they can give the pets there some beautiful new colors to make them more desirable!
So as of now, you can find 5 new petslots available to be bought from the Millionaire Center! They are priced at 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 million sp. And until the end of this month, keep a look out in Adopt R Us for newly colored pets!

I've been having fun getting achievements done with my extra pet slot. :D Just adopted a scribble and a steamwork to get the achievements, now waiting for a common pet to arrive so I can zap it into something better, hopefully get another achievement out of it, and then adopt it out again. ^^

No, again, I don't have a lot of sP to blow by any means. I am not a super rich user. I have 15 million in the vault right now, but I am still thrilled over this. I'd only have to save 5 million more to get my first new pet slot! And even the others are obtainable, really. How do you guys not comprehend that this is such a great buy compared to spending 90 million for your first new pet slot (again, going by the current price of CSC)? Because that's what I did a couple years ago. How much do you think pet slots should cost? 1 million?

The most I've ever had saved at once was like 35 million, and that time I saved 2000 CSC bought with sP for a pet slot, so it's not like I'm talking from the place of a really rich Subetan. This is an amazing deal.

20 million is like 1/4th the cost of what it would cost to buy 2000 CSC for a pet slot, going by the price of a 1000 CSC card in shops right now. 40 million is less than half. This is actually really good for users (like me) who have less sP. Even the cost of 2000 CSC is much less than what slots used to cost. They can't give away pet slots for nothing, although actually they did just do that with the Quest-a-Thon ;) You can also get a pet slot for free every year on your Subeta anniversary (starting at your 2nd).

I think they are recolouring them on the go - I looked into the pound and a nicely named pet was just turned into a Common Experiment #1107.

Thank you for listening to the request I gave. I know others must of asked too. This is why subeta is better than neopets you guys actually listen to the users of the site and make adjustments. Please don't ever sell subeta or it will become another cold corporate website with no soul, like neopets is now.

This is excellent! I'm also pleased to see that it's a permanent addition to the millionaire center, especially as someone who likes to at least get my current pets in the right color/species status before even adopting a new one with an empty pet slot, and as someone who doesn't have a lot of sP to burn. I agree with names being the biggest deterrent in the pound, but it is totally possible to find nice names in there! About 9 of my pets have been adopted from the pound, and I think their names are lovely. I think the extra slots are generous enough. There is no need for a free rename to go along with this.

Im with others, I dont like the name change idea. Most of mine I adopt for tne name, and zap or change. Any normal color pets would never be adopted if they had free name change.

Y ES. I'm so happy for this I will be making very good use of this (especially since it means an even number of pets for me).
On a side note, I actually love the Adoption centre. All but three of my pets have come from there over the years. I go for the names rather than anything else, because I then zap away and build up a character for them, and if you're patient, you're able to find some nice names.

Oh wow, it's going to be tough figuring out new names.
I created and pounded nearly a dozen pets mostly with names of actual word using the extra slot, and they all got adopted within a day. Even only with basic colors, shows how priceless pet names can be :)

Plus this is the only "item" in the MC that doesn't go to your inventory, even though the purchase page looks like you're buying a regular item. There has to have been a better way to do this.

I have to say though: as awesome as all of this is, the setup is really weird. We're buying an item named "Pet Slot" that uses the item image and hover info of the Pet Matryoshka Dolls, and the price changes every time with no explanation in the MC itself? This is confusing.

It doesn't show the next slot until you've bought the previous one. So the first slot is 20 million, you buy it, and then as you saw the 40 million slot becomes available. If you buy that one, you will then see the next one available for 60 million. Then 80 million if you buy that, and 100 million after that.

gotta agree with the name change not being included - additional slots are 2000 CSC via the pet page. by contrast, the name change is 500 CSC, which is much easier to obtain, even if you purchase the cards from the sP shops. not only is it a fair deal, they're giving us slack on the more expensive aspect of it - complaining that the names are poor and you might have to save up/spend a little extra on them is kind of looking a gift horse in the mouth xc the point is accessibility, not immediacy

I think Andrea's suggestion has considerable merit (names for poor pets whose owners couldn't think of a more fortunate name and no chance for abuse).
Major drawback: It would need to be handled by staff, meaning work time going into that. I can't tell how much work it'll be, but re-naming more than 100 pets will surely take time...

Although personally, I think it is the names of some of the pets in the adoption center that puts people off from adopting them, not their colours. I mean come on who wants to adopt a pet called "Feli3433496" or "wwhhaatt18". I think it would be better to just remove pets that have been in there for X amount of time completely, thus freeing the name up and emptying the pound a bit.

For the record 99% of pets that are named like (ex:) Max_963 have a free rename-- when accounts go inactive and a pet's name is changed, the pet gets a free rename. That sticks with the pet, not the account, so when those pets are ditched they still have a rename attached.
In case those asking for a free rename are curious.
That said, there's some "interesting" names in there sometimes that don't have those free renames-- I don't expect staff to allow *us* to rename them for free-- but instead of just clearing out the pound and potentially deleting awesome IDs/specific birthdays... it'd be cool if the more "creative" names, such as poor Lucian893476893, were renamed by staff to something less... numbery.
Or not, that's an older pet and you never know when someone might be looking for it's birthday instead of it's name.

I adopted Mazuma. I have no I am changing her to a her. I made her a Chibi Dillema and I want to get that minion that looks just like a little Dillema. @Yuzu - 'Newly colored pets' means that some of the pets in Adopt R Us are just having their colour (and sometimes species) changed. Not into a colour that doesn't exist yet! Just, if they're common or dusk or something, they might be colored reborn or nostalgic or turned into an experiment to make them more desirable.

1. I love the idea of putting pet slots in the MC.
2. I disagree that we should be able to change the names of the pets in the pound for free. What's even the point of adopting, then?
3. How does this thing about newly colored pets in the pound work? Will they be created by staff and thrown in, or is there a chance when a user abandons a pet that it may randomly have its color changed? If it's the latter, does this only happen to Common pets, or does it apply to only commonpose colors, or does it apply to all of them?

Which is exactly what I've been doing, making pets instead of adopting, which means most of the pets in the pound will just sit there if nobody likes their name.

Well, I won't complain even though I think they easily could have been doubled or more with just as many sales because its a one time thing anyhow. Instead I'll be happy for all you crazy pet collectors, while I sit here trying to decide what to do with the 1 new pet slot I earned XD.

not sure i agree… i mean yes it would be nice to have a free name change, but the whole point of the pound is that you're adopting a pet as-is; you can pay to change its color, species, gender, stats, and name later on, but if you want a pet with a particular name then you should just make the pet with that name. i feel like it would be sort of… cheaty, for lack of a better term, to be able to adopt a pet with an awesome color or awesome stats or whatever you look for in a pet, and then give it a name of your own choosing. it would take some of the effort out of achieving your ideal pet.

So much encouragement for us to get new pets whoa. It's really nice to see something is being done to help the pounded pets! 3/4 of mine are adopted themselves.

@wise - they will not be made giftable, it's a per-account kind of thing. You can give somebody the sp to buy their own one, I imagine?

@LuckBurnside - No, because these can't be sold to anybody else, they're just a nice little thing to save up sp for. We didn't make them all 100 million sp (or even more) because we wanted them to be more of a mid ground way of getting pet slots.

@LuckBurnside I don't think so. They're specially available discounted pet slots, they even have their own space on the User Dashboard. Since the price scales depending on how many you bought, it's kind of hard to say what exactly the conversion rate comes out to anyway
