I don'T like the idea... in the past I was able to send a MTC as a gift and the User who got it could change what he want. Now I have to ask. I can't buy 10 Trunks and put it in my vault when I have the cash- I only can buy the one I want.
Maybe you change your mind about this idea... it's like the donations. You don'T put the items in the donations in the shop without the package.
For the users it's the better way to choose AFTER buying...

I am not a fan of this change. The costumes I like are not in the shop, and I don't enjoy having to wait to buy the one I want. Not because I am impatient but because if i can't get them when I have the money, then my money gets spent elsewhere.

And why is the shop full of 4 copies each of the exact same things? Why not put all the available trunks in there with one picture each? Having four pictures of each one seems quite redundant to me, and cuts back on the variety you can offer.

If all the trunks were in there for purchase I'd be happy, but this way... Disappointing. Very disappointing. *shakes head*

Aw. That's disappointing. I like to buy a few MCT's at a time so I can get a new trunk I like even if I don't have cash. It's going to be difficult for me to sink my money into the site now during the sales. I guess I'll just stock up on CSC now instead.

Ugh. This is so annoying. And for all you people who say this hasn't changed anything, it has.
Buying a certain Costume Trunk from user shops are always inflated compared to just buying the MCT with the trunk in it.
Buying just the CSC for it are more expensive as well. I'm not trying to sound cheap but this change is consequently only making us spend more.
As somone said above it is most likely a money ploy :|.

Awesome. The costume trunk always sort of confused me anyway. "You mean you open a trunk... to get a box with a costume in it? And it doesn't tell you what those costumes are before you open the trunk? And sometimes they retire and aren't in there anymore even though they were when you bought it...?" Yeah, I got mixed feelings about this - but I understand from the 'hoarding trunk' point of view, this is a bit of an issue.
However, just turn the CS credits in when you want to buy a new trunk. You can still hoard the MCTs - you just can't
open them like before. It's somethin' we all have to deal with. It's nice to see which trunks are available all in one place
as well as all the previews. :3

I'm sorry to say to those of you who are talking about stocking up during a sale -- but that was never the intention of these sales (for you to stock up on 50 costume trunks to last you through the year) and it's a problem that we've had to face (much like when we put gold accounts in the MC and have people stock up on them for a year+).

The best you'll be able to do is buy items that are around that price point and hold onto them to sell later, for sP and then buy costume trunks.

The only problem I have with this is one that was mentioned earlier: what happens when a sale roles around in the Cash Shop and there aren't any trunks I particularly like out of the ones that I haven't already bought? Before I could grab a few trunks and wait for a new release that a liked, and wind up saving some CSC. Now I'll either have to buy stuff I don't particularly want or miss out altogether.

I don't understand what the problem is or why anyone would possibly be angry.

To my understanding, if you have an MCT and you open, you get a 500 credit gift card. Which is the worth of the original MCT and the cost of any of the trunks in the Cash Shop. So you don't lose money. Any costume trunk available costs 500 credits. So I don't see how money is lost in any way. Besides, this way you don't have to wonder what trunks are still available.

I personally like this new feature because I enjoy seeing my options and not having to pick right then and there, whereas the minute I would open an MCT, I HAD to pick asap.

I'd like to this is easier and more beneficial to someone.

I'm honestly a bit annoyed, mainly because I was looking forwards to stocking up on MCTs during the Black Friday sale. And there is now NO equivalent for that, because 500 CSC will STILL cost five dollars, whereas an MCT, worth 500 CSC, would have been brought down in price.

Hmm...Now it is more time efficient just to buy the trunks from the cash shop rather than wasting millions more sp on the individual trunks since the MCT will become obsolete soon. The 500 CSC have always usually been more expensive than the MCT in user shops. This seems like a money ploy to me.

I know a lot of people liked to gift trunks to people in the generic form so that the receiver of the gift could choose which trunk they wanted. 500csc seems a lot less appealing to give as a gift as it's pretty much just handing over the $.

I don't like this at all. I hate having CSC sitting in my account since I am just like that so every now and then I would go and buy a bunch of trunks, that way I can do it when the exchange rate is good and save myself some money. And I know that my CSC will be going to the trunks in the future and not whatever comes out that I suddenly think I want and don't really.

The people that are complaining about the 5k wardrobe achievement, and how if someone wants a new trunk, they can just trade it in, it's in there in black and white.

Yes, it does change. We cannot stock CSC when there's a sale (like we could do with MCT). After the sale is over, prices return to the normal.

I don't understand why people are still upset, after the update. You can still get the trunks with a MCT. Just open it to get 500 csc. A MCT is now the same as a 500 credit gift gard. You can still gift your friends with a MCT; they can use it to buy a trunk or save the csc for later.

There used to be an "open 5 (or was it 10?) MCTs" achievement. I've just looked and there is only the "open 1 MCT" achievement displayed. Have no idea what has happened there.
With the update though i doubt the 1 MCT achievement still holds?

Honestly, I don't see why anybody is particularly upset with this change. I know that once I get a MCT for the wardrobe achievement, I'll be hoarding it for the simple reason that it won't be sold any longer. For anybody saving their trunk in order to get a new costume set, they can redeem the MCT for CSC. That's actually even better than just having a MCT because then the user can get something else with the CSC. Or, if the user really wants a new trunk, they can simply use the CSC from the MCT. While I had a brief heart attack upon first reading the post, I think this is a pretty good idea, to be honest. It took me a little while to get used to it, but I really have warmed up to the idea. It seems like a win/win to me

As of this moment, 20/20 hindsight is telling me this wasn't the best move to make. I'm one of those who bought a couple MCTs to hang on for new trunks/old costumes to break apart. Now, while I'm not terribly upset, I can't see a great turnout. The 5k wardrobe tier still gives an MCT right? How many will be displeased upon reaching it and not be able to get a new trunk out of it, or if that is changed, then how many who already got that achievement will be upset that they did get the trunk and not the new replacement prize? It seems a lose-lose situation to me.

I like the previews, and I like how we can see what's in them (even though we can always google them and see). But I liked the surprise of opening it. Also that the Trunks would be relatively inexpensive compare to an actual trunk.
I think the trunks in general might go down in price, which CAN be good, but can also be bad for some people who usually use these to sell big.

I guess it's okay..I'm still deciding whether or not I really like it.

People, nothing is retired, pictures of trunks featured on this news post are just examples of specific trunks that still sell individually in CS. The only thing retired if you like to view it that way is the "shell", the packaging that trunks come in (MCT).

The problem here is inflation...it's been cheaper to buy the MCT and open it for the specific trunk you wanted. MCTs were generally 8-9 million, whereas the trunks within them were often 10-12 million (or higher!). I like the idea of being able to see trunks and their items individually, but there are other sites that allow us to do that. This seems like a bad idea from an inflation standpoint, which is ALWAYS an issue with Subeta. Not everyone can actually afford to use real money to buy from the cash shop, so now we have to rely on enough people buying extras of specific trunks, rather than buying MCTs in bulk to sell.

I'd also like to buy a Trunk that's a little bit older (not due to being retired yet, but still), I'm pretty sure now it will be darn impossible to get, considering how hard it is to get Credit Gift Cards (I mean buying them in the Trades with other items, not from the user shops) and that like nobody would buy those "old" Trunks like the Shaman one, the Sorcerer one or the Mermaid one (I wanted them all, the shaman in female, the others in male).
Now I'm really, really, really happy that I have bought 1 trunk just yesterday and 3 the day before ^^

While I understand why this was done, it feels kind of sad. Like something that's been a staple of Subeta has just been taken away. I think that's sad. Or maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic now.

I'm happy as long as I can get my mitts on the different costume trunks.
I like that you can see all the individual items before you buy.

I have one question though.
Does this mean that if the costume trunks are retired from the cash shop they will disappear as a choice from any MCT's we have saved up, and that eventually, if all the costume trunks are retired, the MCTs will be empty?

I would be pretty pissed though if I still had my hoard of stashed MCTs (I opened them all already). I do think this sorta screws everyone who bought a lot to have for later during the last sale.

Maybe the MCT could still be updated, but no more produced so when the last MCT is used they're gone. Sort of a granfathering if you will. /is union worker IRL forgive me

People, nothing is retired, pictures of trunks featured on this news post are just examples of specific trunks that still sell individually in CS. The only thing retired if you like to view it that way is the "shell", the packaging that trunks come in (MCT).

The preview feature and what not is cool and all, but what was great about the MCT's was being able to purchase one with sps, hang onto it, then open it when they released a set you like. Just seems like another way to get more cash shop purchases to me. Now those of us who stocked for when stuff we like comes out kinda got screwed here.

I'm not happy with this at all. I've got 4 Mysterious Costume Trunks in my vault because I stocked up in the Cash Shop sale. If new trunks aren't going to be added to them it means they're more or less useless to me unless I open them for trunks I don't really want.

Well, there's a huge difference.

A: You get to preview the whole trunk before you purchase it. You can see all of the items, and hover for previews.
B: No more holding on to a MCT until a trunk you like comes along. You can save your CSC (or hold onto a gift card) but no more holding on to the trunks.

Aw, some how I feel like we've reached the end of an era in Subeta life. It's kinda sad that now we'll actually have to pick the individual trunks before we buy, instead of having that option later. But I'm glad none of the current older-trunks have been retired yet. Still need to collect a couple of them, now that I can afford them.

I think people are kind of confused by this.

What I'm taking away is...All MCTs purchased before this news post will only contain what they did up until this point. If tomorrow something new is made, it would NOT show up in the MCT you own, only in the Cash Shop trunk area.

Not that it affects me at all, since I don't own any of either. X'D

AGAIN.

No costume trunk has been retired. Things have just been reorganized so that the MCT in its current incarnation is no longer needed. The trunks INSIDE the MCT have been pulled out and are available for separate purcharse--and NONE of those have been retired. They are now just separate trunks, instead of trunks inside of trunk.

guys, Trunks will still be added, they just won't be put in an MCT anymore. you just buy the trunk you want form the shop.
so now if you buy an MCT from shops or get one from that wardrobe achievement, you can just pick one of the trunks that was in there before this happened.

It does not say that there will not be new trunks. It says THE MYSTERIOUS COSTUME TRUNK WILL NOT BE UPDATED TO INCLUDE NEW TRUNKS. As in any new trunks would be stand alone for sale in the shop which is now set up to sell specific trunks.
