News Post
Agoge, Inc. is seeking a part-time PHP developer to work on one of our websites, http://subeta.net.
Responsibilities include maintaining existing code, including fixing bugs, making upgrades, and implementing new features and content, as well as supporting our User Administrators when they need programming assistance.
Qualifications (what we're looking for):
* Knowledge of PHP, Javascript, and MySQL - we're not looking for concrete experience in a past PHP job necessarily, but demonstratable skills doing LAMP web programming.
* Responsibility, self-motivation and a willingness to learn are essential - you should be comfortable being handed a project and attacking it on your own, asking questions as needed.
* Willingness to follow web standards and coding guidelines.
* Personality and sense of humor mandatory!
* Experience with Linux, SSH, or Subversion is a plus.
* Experience with web scalability problems a definite bonus.
* Located in the US.
Benefits (what we can offer):
* Work where you choose - collaborate online with the other coders and staff members.
* Work when you choose - set your own schedule, work around classes and homework.
* Earn real-world experience working on a dynamic website and the problems involved
* Have your code used by thousands of users daily.
* And of course, make some spending money!
How to apply:
* Email jobs@subeta.net, and attach your resume.
* Include links to projects and examples of your work (or attach source code).
* Let us know when you can interview.
* While you wait to hear from us, learn to use IRC - it's how we collaborate.

I hate the fact that you need to be in the US for this. I'd be perfect meeting all the other qualifications, and I'd do it for free but it's just that I don't live in the US xDD

Excitement - Like other companies, we will detail that in the interview process. We are paying above minimum wage, and as it's a part-time job with limited hours I think that we are paying competitive wages.

Alright so I'm totally interested and meet all of the qualifications but one thing is you don't say anything about how much you are paid. I'm not sure if I want to bother applying if the pay isn't the above what I'm looking for, or even how the payments are made. I might be jumping the gun a little especially since I don't know if I'll be accepted if I did apply, but I think it'd be nice to know before I make the effort to apply. Perhaps if Keith doesn't want this in public he could message myself (and/or other serious applicants) as to details about this information. Also I know in most regular job applications you don't know this stuff until you are interviewed, however normally you can guess what you will be payed and how it will be done, and applying online for an "internet" online position is a little different. Especially since I have no idea what wages Keith/Agoge would pay.

Curse my young age. I would have loved to do this, if I was older and had more experience.
