Hi all!
You may have noticed today we released a couple of changes for pet profiles. By popular request, pet birthdays (or ages) are now shown on pet profiles. Adoption dates are also shown, though prior to today Subeta hasn't tracked when pets were adopted. Thus, pets without an adoption date show their birth date instead as a "(Legacy)" date.
We've also added progress bars that track stats. These bars show how your pet's stats compare to its highest stat. We may be changing how these work in the future.
These changes are just the tip of the iceberg, though! You can expect some major changes for pet profiles in the near future. I won't say just what yet, but I promise you'll like them. You can expect to see the new system up and running by the end of the year!
The downside of this, of course, is that current pet profiles won't work on the new system! We know this is frustrating to people, especially since the pet profiles were just recently broken with the new layout. This is a problem that plagues every site - it's impossible to make improvements and maintain compatibility with the existing versions of features. We think (and I hope you'll agree) that in the long run making big improvements is worth having to redo some profiles. Therefore, I'd advise against investing a lot of sP in pet profile coding at the moment - just a warning!

I have a couple of Zapper pets with all their info I had chronicled wiped in this. I guess that's my fault for not keeping a copy on my HD.
Mhm, is there a way to disable the birthday/adopt date and stat progress? I just dont wanna see them on my pet profile. Its useless to me and its annoying. And I dont wanna other people to know.

I would like to see something done about the gender/name setup, though... the current one works fine for most pets, but not so well for those who are non-gendered; rather than having a male or female gender symbol in front of their color and species, it just uses the word "None", resulting in weirdness like "The None Common Endeavor". One way to address this would be to have a "blank" gender symbol of some sort instead of the "None", so that it would be something more like "the <img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v41/nenay/nogender.gif border="0"> Common Endeavor", though I'm sure there are other ways to deal with it, too. Please... think of the androgynous pets ;3;

I think that pets you have made yourself that you HAVEN'T adopted shouldn't have the "adopted" line.

Aww, two of my pets characters were entirely based on the act that they were twins, and now there's proof they're not (I got them from Adopt R Us and didn't know them)...
So now I have to re-write the entire thing that has had that idea ever since I got the two of them....... Dx

I'm not that mad about it as it's a bit deceptive in that it doesn't contain accurate information. For example, I didn't actually adopt a Spectrum Kumos in 2007, I adopted Galactic Telenine......I guess I will need to add this information in the profile myself.........thanks though for always trying to make improvements to the website.

I'm curious about what the other changes will end up being. Can't say I'm too thrilled about the whole age thing myself, though - I've never much cared about it on any pet site.

Pets here have personality and expression in different colors, and this is way better than dress a dragon with a tiara or a ballet tutu.

Okay, I'm feeling another stupid moment coming on...where can you find these pet profiles? I've clicked on each pet and don't see anything other than statistics and the screen where you can make changes...
I wish websites would warn us about changes so we could have the opportunity to save our coding <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" />. Legacy is interesting ~ but if the adoption date is unknown it doesn't make sense to have it listed twice as bday & adoption. The adoption date should just state Legacy (with no date at all)
It's weird... I like knowing that info that's been added, but, I really do like a nice clean uncluttered look to the page, that focuses on the pet's art and minion and TC. I hope they don't get even more crowded. Guess I'm just stuck in the past, LOL I know it's not practical to do, but it would be nice if pets had a "main" page of their own that had the bare minimum and if you wanted more details on them, their history, stats, and such, you could click thru there to an all-info page. Don't get me wrong though I do like the increased focus on pets, and I think the site is looking spectacular with the new layout.

Grmpf! I hope they'll be done with their changes asap. Just fixed my codes, and I don't see the advantage of a stats progress or the birthday.
Whew... good thing you warned us about the future changes. I was in the middle of working on making my pets custom layouts. I'll hold off until I see what the new code brings.
