His mother meant well for each of her offspring, but there had been many litters in her care during her lifetime - and more males in between.
Fleas was easily a number, but loved all the same. Unfortunately, love doesn't conquer roadkill and he was eventually orphaned.
He has since called many places home, including the back of that pizza parlor, several friendly stoops, and countless alleys. His only friends in the world are his fleas, which dance about his boney frame constantly.
His days are usually spent scrounging for food, which isn't always as glamorous as it sounds. Although he depends mostly on the tedious task of dumpster dissection for his meals, he does receive the occasional handout. Finding a permanent home has never seriously crossed his mind, considering how fickle humans appear to be, as well as unpredictable.
