Once upon a time there was a prince. He ruled his piece of forest with a gentle hand, most of his time devoted to his flowers and trees. He was a quiet prince with soft blue eyes, all alone in his paradise of plants. While many would despise the loneliness, he embraced it happily. All he needed was his flowers to bring a smile to his face

But then one day a strange princess arrived in his peaceful land of solitude! She brought with her a gift for the prince, a necklace weaved of pink flowers. She was beautiful, that he knew, but she was so very different. She spoke loudly with a happy voice, and smiled brightly with happy eyes. She made friends with all the flowers and trees, and even the birds and the bugs! It was like no creature could keep from falling for her.

The prince, of course, was not immune. He tried his best to be polite without getting close, but he was no match for her. Soon he was wrapped around her finger, in love for the first time. He remained quiet as a mouse, but she didn’t mind. It was part of his charm, after all.

They spent many a day together, sitting by the riverbank and enjoying their beautiful world. They spent many a night cuddled beneath the willow trees, falling asleep as they watched the stars dance. It was as though they were the only being alive, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

When new spring rain poured down all around them, they danced. They played tag with butterflies and raced the birds. They challenged the bugs to lifting competitions and bunnies to jumping contests.

And then one day the prince approached his princess, handmade leaf ring in hand, and asked her to be his queen. Their forest rejoiced as they made wedding plans, just happy to be in the arms of each other.

On the morning of their marriage the sunrise was more gorgeous than ever before. Dew clung to the princess’s hair, sparkling like diamonds in the soft morning light. The prince had never seen a more breathtaking sight, and even thoughts escaped him.

They spent their honeymoon in the cave behind the waterfall, each never daring to let the other go. They were bound together in the throes of passion, wishing for nothing more than to never leave the arms of one another. But they knew their forest needed them, so they returned and things fell back into normalcy.

Ordinary life continued for the king and queen. They spent their days tending to their flowers and trees, their nights counting the stars. It was a simple life, a calm life, and they took great pride in their lives. Even if they died and were remembered by none but their flowers, that would be enough for them.

And then the most magical thing happened! The queen’s belly began to expand, and everyone knew she was with child. The king was once more at a loss for even thoughts, joy filling him completely. He was a father! What glorious news! The forest again rejoiced, everyone more than eager to meet the new prince or princess.

The queen was treated like a fragile petal, every simple need and want tended to by her king. He was flustered, panicked almost, desperate to make sure everything was perfect. His queen had to have the best, be as comfortable and happy as possible.

Happy months passed, and at last the princess was born! She had sparkling white fur and curious hazel eyes, fluffy tufts of platinum blonde hair and pudgy newborn cheeks. The king and queen both knew not what to say or think, as her beauty astounded them. They never thought they could create something so very amazing.

And from there the story begins again, a new princess and a new prince in a lovely new land all their own, weaving fairy tales from air for all to see. . .
