Guidry was abandoned outside of a small village. as a kit, he had been the runt. his mother, having more young than she could properly care for, left him wandering in the brush. curiosity had him wandering through the forest, and soon enough he had found his way into the village marketplace. his appetite getting the better of him, he crawled into a nearby shop-keep's wagon and spent the majority of the week eating the freshly made bread loaves and pastries. noticing her merchandise coming up missing in bulk amounts, the small elvish girl unloaded her wagon in search of any evidence the thief may have left. instead, she found a small, frightened pherret living amongst her belongings. feeling remorse for the creature, she allowed him to stay, but insisted that he stopped eating the merchandise. soon enough, he was more than just her guest, and had a place of his own in her cabin on the outskirts of town. eventually tiring of calling the pherret "kid," the girl took to calling him Guidry. he began prancing around her bake shop, attracting customers with his playful, friendly attitude. he wandered around town, becoming a regular at many shops. merchants would feed him leftovers when he visited them, and village children often times would have him out in the fields playing with them. he never strayed too far, remaining a loyal companion to his keeper.
