A creaking sound awoke the tiny bunny. The metal cage surrounding Hoppity and the other toys was lifted. It was the start of another day of sitting on the shelf - hoping and waiting for a child to come pick her up. Hoppity had never seen much of the world. To her, people were a strange creature. They only came during the day, being loud and boisterous carrying bags of things. Sometimes she'd get grabbed off of her shelf and pulled and thrown around before her keeper would shout and take her back. At night, it was quiet, silent as a bug.
